Is it possible to prevent the screen from dimming and the warning message when there is 15% battery left? I would like the phone to take NO ACTION based on the battery power left. Impossible?

Is there a way to override the auto lock with a manual one? I'm not sure my kids could make an emergency call if they needed to, it's such a chore to make a call.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI installed the update for CauseWorld (a random little app where you collect "karma" points for "checking-in" to various real-world locations, and then you spend the points on various charitable causes). I used to leave the app running all the time, so I could easily check-in to a new place every few minutes, because loading the app from scratch is frustratingly slow (whereas having it running in the background makes it pop up instantly).
With the new update, if I left the app running in the background, it'd wake up my phone every few seconds, as it tried to update my location in the app. So as I left my phone sitting on my desk, I'd see the lock screen flash on, then off. Then on, off, on, off, etc. Pretty annoying. Last night I charged my phone, and as I went to bed, unplugged the charger, since it was fully charged. But apparently I forgot to shut down the CauseWorld app, because my alarms never went off this morning, and my phone was completely dead.
I plugged it into the charger, but the phone won't turn on, even after leaving it plugged in for 15 minutes.
The only thing that's changed about my phone in the last week is downloading the update for the CauseWorld app, so I'm blaming that, for lack of any other idea of what caused the problem.
Despite the fact that I have not left the country, nor have I exchanged any text messages with people overseas, I have been charged for 37 international text messages by sprint, to the tune of .20 each. I chatted with a CSR, who basically told me I could not dispute the charges until the bill had posted(it shows under current usage on my account). This is most likely due to the faulty GPS/location issues this phone is well-known to have. Please check your bill, harass sprint, and make sure you don't get hookwinked! Please comment if you check and have been charged for intl text messages within the U.S.A.
View 19 Replies View RelatedGot a Samsung Moment a couple of weeks ago. Last night starting using Astrid (Task/ToDo app), which came pre-installed on my phone. When I launched Astrid for the first time, I got a warning message -- something about making sure Sprint Update or Sprint Updater doesn't kill Astrid, or ruin it, or something. Clearly, I didn't understand the message. But I clicked "Okay" anyway, and started using Astrid. But I'm worried that a Sprint Update could erase all my Astrid data -- my To Do's. I'm reluctant to create many Astrid tasks until I know how to prevent them from being unexpectedly erased. My questions: Can anyone explain the situation to me? (e.g., I have no idea who/when/how/where/what Sprint updates). Can anyone explain what I need to do to prevent the catastrophe about which Astrid was warning me?

I was wondering if anyone knows of an app out there or some settings that can prevent apps from loading automatically. Often, I find that apps like Sprint Nav, Sprint TV, Moxier Mail, etc. loaded automatically. I'm getting tired of killing apps all day long to save memory and battery. It seems like my Moment doesn't want to run with more than 30mb free cause it just keeps loading apps until it gets to around 26-30mb.

Others I don't want to upgrade because the current app works for me and the "upgrade" introduces problems.
Is it possible to turn off the upgrade notification for some but not all apps? I don't want to accidentally include an app when I am upgrading others.
Under "System select", does "home only" prevent roaming for voice calls?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone to my computers (Win 7 or 2 XP machines) it always connects as A/C and not as USB. I downloaded the Samsung USB drivers and this worked on the Win 7 machine for a while but then started connected as A/C again. Un-installed and installed the drivers again but they do now work now. The Samsung drivers did not work on either of the XP machines. So, as of now I think it is the phone? I do have the Power Manager app installed and the phone still connects as A/C with it running or not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it true that using a Task killer, actually opens your apps. I have noticed I will power on my phone and all of my apps will be their in the list. Also I have heard that that means they are ready to use but not neccesarily on. However, I kill all the tasks and still some will open a minute or two later, when I didnt open them. Its starting to bug me. I have Bettercut, with a few programs with different icons, and have beautiful widgets on one of the screen, with the silent, vibrate, and airplone widget. Swiping screens is really slow and laggy, I am not rooted or anything. I have the c14 update, is their any helpful way to fix this.
Also I will only have 30 Mbs open after 5 minutes of restarting the phone.
And don't say whats the big deal, if its working. Having more memory available makes apps runs smoother and faster.
Is there anyway to stop the phone from playing the default notification when you plug it in the to power adapter?
View 12 Replies View RelatedThink Google Voice was updated a few days ago. Version 0.3.0 on device. Every time on power-off/on it force closes. Uninstalled and reinstalled it, did not help. Reviewed the log file and there are some unhandled exceptions in Google Voice code. Any one else with this problem? Is there a way to reinstall an older version of Google Voice app?

Anyone else having a problem of not having the screen turn on when you press the power button from sleep? It doesn't happen often but it does happen. This is my second Captivate as my last one would shut itself off randomly and that phone also had this problem.Yes, I make sure I pressed the power button and waited a couple seconds to make sure it just wasn't lag but I can guarantee you it is not. Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time but maybe once every 2 days. I'm guessing it's a slight problem with other users as it happened on my last phone but I'm not sure. Hopefully it's a software issue.

I usually use my DEXIM. but it does not work with the Behold 2. I've tried a car charger/battery unit by Wireless Gear that said it was compatible with all Samsung phones, it came with 5 power tips and a USB outlet that still would not work, even using the OEM USB cable. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will go with OEM Samsung if necessary, but there selection is limited.

Once a call is placed the phone will go black and I am unable to access the onscreen functions (Speaker, Dialpad, etc). I've tried tapping the screen, hitting the back button and hitting the menu button, but the screen remains black. At some point it MAY come on or just briefly flash on. This has been very annoying - especially with calls that require multiple prompts.

I can press the red end call button to put it to sleep, but when I turn it back on after a few minutes or even an hour or so later, when I check spare parts it says under battery history 100% running. The screen is not on and shows a small % and since this started the battery life has gotten horrible again. The only thing I see that is running when I look at partial partial wake usage is android system and it is showing the full bar in blue. Does anyone have any idea what can be causing this problem. When I had advanced task manager installed it showed many things running in the background like music, system update, messages ect ect ect and these programs were never opened by me. I thought maybe this was the program that was running all the time because after I uninstalled it the phone started sleeping. But now it is back to staying awake 100% of the time. Any help would be appriciated.

After changing the background and getting some random apps (barcode scanner, discovery, zedge, bbc), I noticed the screen kept lighting up randomly 8 to 10 times in a row. Luckily for me, a drunk man smashed my brand new Moment the Sunday after I got it so Asurion sent me another one the next day. The new one does the exact same thing and I want to smash it (even sober). Anyone running into this? I've read on some blogs that people had the same problems when they upgraded.The keyboard sold me on this phone but if this is going to keep happening I'm getting a new one.

So I think it's just the 'touch' part of it that is broken. Also, are there any guides on how to take the moment apart. It doesn't seem that complicated, but looking at some instructions beforehand would make it easier.
Does the virtual keyboard on the Moment have bigger keys than the HTC Hero? I ask this because looking at the display for the moment it appears to be wider than that of the Hero.Also, does the screen shut off when not in use? I have heard people say this as well as their face hits stuff on the screen when they are talking on it.
