Just downloaded Tunewiki - not for the lyrics/content, but because the interface and widget are really slick.
Problem I'm having is that the default music player app likes to compete with it. When I use Bluetooth (Ford Sync) the music player app likes to start automatically.
Anyone know how to tell it to ignore the music app? I know it can't be deleted.

Just got a captivate yesterday and coming from an Incredible so far there are some things I really like about this phone and a couple not so much. One thing I can't figure out is how to disable the default email viewer? I am getting 2 notifications every time a email comes in. I get one in my gmail launcher and another in the notification bar. The one in the notification bar takes me to the email viewer that is blue and black and is the one I want to turn off.

I have a 16gb card and I have my music in a folder called music. For some reason the music player isnt seeing all my music. I have made changes to folders names just to see if the app recognizes the changes, even removed some music, but when I load the card the music app dosent see the changes. Its like its somehow cached. I have gone in the "settings/applications/manage applications/music/" and cleared the cache, but under "settings/applications/manage applications /music player" it wont let me clear the cache. I have also noticed that certain folders have different album art thats ok not worried about that just want all my music to show. have any of you ran into this problem or know how to have it reload the music on the memory card ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had the Moment for about 1 1/2 months. At times, it seems as though the joystick is "stuck" - it moves the cursor all around (sort of like the center mouse on a laptop). Sometimes it will move around the screen, move from one screen to another, move the cursor when typing, etc... It makes the phone unusable. I've looked in a bunch of forums and haven't seen anyone else complain. I normally have to remove the battery and boot it back up and everything starts to work again. I had a zag on it, but removed it thinking it might be the problem (it wasn't). The Sprint store was zero help (it didn't happen while there). Is there a way to disable the joystick? I'm tempted to just take the phone apart and remove it.

Unfortunately I have not been able to get it to PLAY a song and STOP till I am ready to proceed with the next item. Is there a App that will allow me to do this or is there any way I can programme the MOMENT to do this?

I need to so I can use it for my Battle.net mobile authenticator while I am using my fiance's new Samsung Reclaim for a month (to get the upgrade price on it) and she has my Hero. Basically, anytime I need data on it, I want to use WiFi but if I leave it on it can and will probably mess up calls on the Hero. My Hero has a nice little check box to disable the mobile network, but the Moment doesn't.

I have found a few on the Market but so far none are filling the bill as to what I need. Basically I have a little hearing loss so prefer basic tone type ring tones rather than a tune or clip from some song or movie. Funny but I kinda like the ring tone of the old standard phone ringer. Can someone suggest something on the Market or some other alternative? I suppose it's as easy as downloading anything using my computer and sending it to my cell phone and using it from there.

I tried to find it listed in the list for ringtones to no avail. I've also checked a couple of different options but the phone is set to the voice announcement by default. Please help. Its all black, and just says ME: Other Persons name: no avatar etc. Anyone know if theres a way to show the contacts avatar/image just like the Hero? With regards to the apps out there that allow you to theme, which ones do not drain the battery if any? I am using this for work so I am trying to get something that looks pleasing to eye while at the same time not degrading my battery life. Any suggestions? I sure do like the keyboard better than the Hero's. Even after calibrating the Hero KB this one is much more responsive and I have fewer errors typing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've found some other threads discussing the fact that the default shortcut for Facebook is actually just a shortcut to a browser bookmark for Facebook. If you delete this shortcut, you can re-create it, but it has a boring red flag icon. With a custom bookmark app, you could restore this original icon... but only if you know where to find it. Where is that icon stored? It has to be somewhere on the root of the phone. Using root explorer, I can't find it. I'm guessing it's stored inside of an archive somewhere. Any ways to search more thoroughly?
Related: can I somehow use my PC (Windows explorer) to browse the root of the phone?
Or, can I find it somewhere in the original .tar file containing the flash update for the phone?
(running rooted 2.1 DD10, FWIW).
I'm afraid to root my phone and I understand that's the only way to get rid of the default music app on my captivate. If I can't get rid of it, is there a way to make it a lame duck and set another player as my default player.
Here's why:
I recently installed Playerpro which has all the features I need in a music player but when I press the headset buttons (which I need for my daily walks) it automatically starts my default music player, which I never use. Granted this may be in an issue with the app as Mixzing and others don't have this issue but is there anyway to set defaults on my droid.
Are their any music players out their better than the default one?
