View 1 RepliesI have the samsung mesmorize. I has a usb cord, but when I plug it in, there is no program. Is it just charging from my computer or is there a program I can use to back everything up? I had to reset my phone and had to spend the better part of a day getting back to the way it was. Please help.

Since I got it I've been trying to get free apps from the Google Play store but every time I try to get an app it says "Package file is invalid."
I have Gmail already on my phone and it works perfectly, but every time I try to do updates it says the same thing.
I'm currently living in china. My buddy picked up a HTC G1 from Canada, but cant access the market or anything like that. Is there a good site i can download apps from the computer and put it on the SD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my new Galaxy S one month back. I have no problems with any other functionality but Android Market. I can browse apps, but when I click install each get stuck at "Starting download..." screen, and never starts or fails. I had kept it for 3 days and still the same. Market / Google Apps / Download Manager clear cache / data does not help even. Phone restart also does not help.So far the solution is do a factory reset and lose all current apps, then install 5 to 6 apps again. Then the same story begins. No more apps can be downloaded. Stuck @ "Starting download..."."Samsung Apps" application works fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNow my phone won't turn on. The bar started going and then that error came up and it said to either debug, send error report or don't send. When I try to turn it on, it just shows a Samsung logo with a phone and a computer under it and a dotted line connecting between. In the middle of the line is an exclamation point! I just tried to download it again on a different computer and the same system error occurred! Why is this happening? I can't turn my phone on now but can enter download mode.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get my phone to connect to the computer, so I can put music on it. But when I plug it in, all it does is charge. I've already tried to change the USB settings, so that it would pull Mass Storage, and it wouldn't do anything after the fact. The computer has no notification pop up when I plug it in. I'm going nuts here! And I only have two days to do this because I have a long trip ahead and I'm trying to sync music to it.
View 16 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to connect my Galaxy to the computer either through Kies or by just plugging it in the computer does not recognize my device. The following message comes up on my phone regardless of which connection method I choose. "PC connection available only on idle screen. Close running applications". The only thing I have running that I know of is the "weather widget" which is part of beautiful widgets. Can I get a list of applications running on my phone somehow? Is there a way to turn the weather widget off? I am assumming that that is the problem. Anyone else out there have similar difficulties hooking up to Kiev or just your PC with the same kind of message?

I finally (after some trouble) rooted my Captivate earlier today. Since then, I have not been able to download any apps from the Android Marketplace, either paid or free.
The apps get to the stage of "Starting Download" but just wind up hanging there infinitely.
Is it likely that something occurred during or indirectly related to the rooting itself that's caused this problem, or is this just as likely coincidental?
I have helped some friends updating their SGS phones with the new software from the samsung firmwares website. However, now I'm stuck with a problem on one of the phones: It simply won't go into download mode. Normally, I press the volume down + menu key and while pressing them I push the power button. But nothing happens, excemt the phone starts up just like normal. I've done it the exact same way with all the models, but this model does not react like the rest of them. Today, I successfully updated 3 models this way, but model number 4 would not go into download mode. The model has the JM2 firmware now. The other 3 models had JM1 firmware, even though they were all purchased at the same date. Is there another way of getting the SGS into download mode?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm rooting my Galaxy S for the first time. Looks like there are multiple ways to do it:
(1) Download & apply update.zip
(2) Use z4root app from market
(3) Use SuperOneClick for PC
(4) Use OneClickLagFix app
Sort out the frozen on "downloading" bug NOW.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife recently got a SGS and we have just tried to download Kies so that she can put some music etc on it (she has a 16GB microsd card in it). However, when we try and install Kies it gets to the installation phase and then at the stage where it prompts you what to install, I selected "instal all" and then it thinks about it and comes back a minute later with a message "unable to connect to file server".Is this a common problem people have had? We are running Windows 7 64 bit, so I dont know if there is a compatability issue? If we cant get Kies to download (and I called their support line and of course no-one answers) is there another way to get data onto the phone and external card? Will I need to buy some kind of adaptor so that I can connect the microsd card and just treat it as any external hard drive?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased my phone outside North America, and I don't know if its a regional thing, but when I go into the Market and select Games, it says "No content in Android Market"
Where do you guys normally get your games from?
I'm having problems with the app store, and it seems to be a little different to the ones already listed here. I'm hoping it's a problem with the Android app store or something...
Anyway, I'm just getting "download unsuccessful" every time I try to get an app.
The main bit of advice is to clear the caches, or delete the data, from a few things. I've done this, except for "Google Apps", because the delete data button isn't there.
I've also had it suggested that it's changing from one sort of google account to another. I've had gmail for years and years (since the early days of its beta) and have never changed it, or any settings related to it.
how do i download apps, can i download them from my computer through the usb or do i have to do it through my phone/ am on payg and it would cost me loads on the internet

View 2 Replies View RelatedThough Galaxy S has got the gorgeous Super AMOLED display and good GPU which is capable of 50FPS, I dont see a whole lot of games developed by Premium Game makers (like EA, Game loft). Also, any game playable with Android 2.1 is compatible with Galaxy S or do we need games specifically developed for Galaxy S?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI started a firmware update (using Odin) and, when downloading the amss, samsung says "Bad block table read fail". a lot of times and the progress bar (on Odin) stay locked. And the update cant finish. So, I restart the mobile... but it always come with the "Downloading..." screen. I've tried the recovery mode [vol down] + [start call] + [end call] buttons, but it always go to "Downloading..." screen. I can't exit from the download mode, and the phone doesn't start any more. I've removed the battery, but the same... the "diskette logo" come with "Downloading..." all the times.
So, two questions:
1) About the "bad block" message, I think it's because I left "turned on" the USB debugging. so, I want to start the phone to turn it off again. This make sense?
2) How to get rid of this screen? How to stop the download mode?
I have a Galaxy S running stock ROM. No lag fix no custom ROM no root nothing. Just now I tried going into recovery/download mode to see what features it have by pressing the volume down+home+Power button. Now the phone says "Downloading Do not turn of target! What can I do to solve this problem. Till now I haven't tried to restart the phone? Should I do that?
