I got my new Galaxy S one month back. I have no problems with any other functionality but Android Market. I can browse apps, but when I click install each get stuck at "Starting download..." screen, and never starts or fails. I had kept it for 3 days and still the same. Market / Google Apps / Download Manager clear cache / data does not help even. Phone restart also does not help.So far the solution is do a factory reset and lose all current apps, then install 5 to 6 apps again. Then the same story begins. No more apps can be downloaded. Stuck @ "Starting download..."."Samsung Apps" application works fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the past day, I cant download anything from the marketplace. Any app I try just gets stuck on "starting download". Did the latest firmware screw up my phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got to deleting a bunch of Spring stock apps using Titanium backup and now my marketplace won't download apps. :/ I was reading somewhere that Google talk might be the culprit (i did remove that)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can browse the internet fine, i can use any app that uses the internet like facebook, youtube, etc. I can even browse the android market fine. Its just stuck at "starting download". I really dont want to reset my phone.
I've tryed:
- restarting
- Turning off and on data connections ( both 3g and wifi )
- Clearing any google cache
- google talk
- deleting apps ( if its a space issue )
- canceling and restarting downloads
- have it attempt to download for 24+ hours
None of these worked. it seems reseting the phone is the last option. I have the Sony Xperia X10. Has anyone with that phone resolved the issue? Is it even the phone that's causing the issue? maybe the market itself is buggy.
Every time I go to download an app it hangs on Starting Download... I'm running stock froyo, rooted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe last couple times I have tried to download an app from the market, it gets stuck on starting download no matter how long I wait. Internet browsing still works though.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have OTA with root and today i tried to update an app and it never downloads I've tried other apps and I get the same error and i was wondering if any one with the ota is having this problem or if it's just my phone. For me it just gets stuck on starting download.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally updated my xperia x10 mini pro yesterday, but my applications went, so i want to download them all over again but its just stuck on starting download. anyone know why? apparently, it has something to do with gmail...also, its nothing major, but in my phonebook, numbers have come up twice. when adding a contact, the option phone contacts and syncML comes up, whats syncml?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI started a firmware update (using Odin) and, when downloading the amss, samsung says "Bad block table read fail". a lot of times and the progress bar (on Odin) stay locked. And the update cant finish. So, I restart the mobile... but it always come with the "Downloading..." screen. I've tried the recovery mode [vol down] + [start call] + [end call] buttons, but it always go to "Downloading..." screen. I can't exit from the download mode, and the phone doesn't start any more. I've removed the battery, but the same... the "diskette logo" come with "Downloading..." all the times.
So, two questions:
1) About the "bad block" message, I think it's because I left "turned on" the USB debugging. so, I want to start the phone to turn it off again. This make sense?
2) How to get rid of this screen? How to stop the download mode?
I have a Galaxy S running stock ROM. No lag fix no custom ROM no root nothing. Just now I tried going into recovery/download mode to see what features it have by pressing the volume down+home+Power button. Now the phone says "Downloading Do not turn of target! What can I do to solve this problem. Till now I haven't tried to restart the phone? Should I do that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to install the latest maps update and it seems stuck on "starting download". It's gone on way beyond the time needed for the previous download/upgrade.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm rooted and just flashed Super Clean rom from Rom Manager. When I go to update current apps or download new ones, it says "Starting download..." and never stops! After looking this problem up and reading other people's posts who have had similar problems, I've tried clearing all cache and data related to any Google-based app. I've done multiple nandroid backups over the past few weeks and have tried restoring back to them. I've tried factory data reset both from Settings-->Privacy and also from recovery mode in CWM. I'm out of ideas.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe tried to root it and apply the lag fix via "OneClickLagFix" app (from the Market), and the phone was very fast for about a week, then slowed down SIGNIFICANTLY. Tonight, it just froze and will not boot past the Galaxy S screen. The screen will then go black and the four buttons at the bottom stay lit. We have gone into recovery and wiped the cache but no luck. Have not yet tried to wipe user data.
Transfer all data from internal storage to a separate drive, then wipe phone? If so, will I have to "flash" a stock/custom ROM to get the phone back up?
With the native email client -using a pop3 email account from my isp and it seems to often get stuck retrieving emails. A reboot fixes it. No task killer used but phone is rooted/JG8

Recently I have tried to root my Samsung Galaxy 3 7.0 (SM-T210R) WiFi edition. After unsuccessfully attempting to install a custom rom, I believe I have accidentally deleted the stock rom for the device..So now, whenever I turn the device on, it automatically brings me to CWM recovery. I have tried to install a different rom onto the device unsucessfully, giving me an error saying "format() expects 5 args, got 4" It also says (Status 7). I have also tried to connect my device to my computer and hook it up to Odin, but Odin does not recognize the device.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAll of today my Samsung Galaxy Discover wouldn't turn on. Nothing. Black screen, no lights, no sounds, no vibrations - nothing. I left it all of today to see if it would get any better, but it didn't, so I took the battery out and put it back in. Now it keeps rebooting itself over and over again, and every time it boots to "Android System Recovery <3e>". I've tried a few of the options but nothing is working, it just keeps booting over and over again to that screen. How do I get it to boot to my actual phone, normally?

Was updating my SGS when it got stuck on the screen where Android is digging in the dirt and says Downloading... do no turn off target.
Windows is also giving me an error "The Program can't start because RAPI.dll is missing from your compter. Try Reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

After a little advice to avoid a second semi-bricking. i ran z4root and set temporary root on my froyo galaxy s. then i installed oclf tools. phone absolutely hated it! rebooted and got stuck at S logo, then went black and vibrated intermittently. i died inside a little. eventually fixed by booting using 301K resistor trick, and reloaded eclair then froyo using odin. anyway i still want the lag fix! i guess where i went wrong here is that i used a temporary root. if i use the 'permanent' root on z4root (which is undoable anyway i understand) recon i'll be ok?
