View 1 RepliesAre you guys experiencing any issues with the WIFI signal on the droid? I am not getting any signal in areas of my house where my iPhone and Droid Eris (exchanged Eris for Droid) had no problems.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Incredible and I really like it. I'm amazed at everything I can do with it. The only problem is; I live in an area with really bad cell phone service. I hardly get any bars, one if I'm lucky. So I got to thinking about all the apps available for the droid phones. And I started to wondering if there is any way to use my wifi connection to help me get out on my cell phone. Or if there is an app out to help with this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHave a Samsung galaxy s Fascinate.Recently installed new wireless N network at house which is working fine.I get a great strong signal all over the house on my laptop from the network. With my Fascinate however,I get a very weak signal in most places, and only a fair signal when standing close to the router.Very annoying as my 3G connection in my house is not so great either.Anyone else having this issue?Any known solutions?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am searching for a app that will automatically switch my WiFi signal from one signal that is weak or getting weak to another signal that is stronger. Example I am at work and I will be connected to a hot spot on one side of the building, I go over to the other side of the building and the signal strength is weak and there is a new hot spot next to me that is extremely strong but the phone stays connected to the weak signal until I go and switch it manually to the new hot spot.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNew to Eris and have set up Wifi to connect to home router (Verizon FIOS Actiontec). Successfully connected (accepted WEP) but get very weak signal and then lose connection. I've turned off "Mobile Network" but still have this problem. I am one room away from router and receive full signal on iMac and printer but only a dot under the Wifi symbol on the Eris. Exchanged a Motorola Droid (which received and held full signal -- as did my prior iPhone)) for Eris. VZW tech support clueless and immediately sent me to HTC support. While they tried (had some not very good explanations -- battery not pushing enough power) still nothing working. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated -- this is the only downside right now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI own the i9000 about a week nowI noticed that the wifi reception is very bad compared with my iPhone 3GS(even in my house i have one bar;and i have to stick the phone to the router D-LINK to have full bars)I want to know is it "normal" is it an individual problem or all the devices had the same issue ?Is it related to hardware or software bug ?Can this problem be solved with Froyo ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI think I figured out why sometimes my Droid stays on for 1.5 days and sometimes after 6 hour of just being idle the battery is drained.
When wifi is turned on an connected to a network, the cellular signal is way low and it just drains the battery.
I am using the Galaxy grand I9082 Duos. I have a simple problem in WIFI signal strength, on this device signal strength showing very weak for a distance of 3 to 4 meets away from the wifi router in the next room. But Laptop shows good strength at same point.
If I take my mobile close to router shows very good strength.
Is anyone else having problems with their 3G signal strength? I usually only have 1-2 bars and I was standing next to my co-worker who has an EnV and he had full service. I have even tried *228.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI couldn't help but notice that the signal strength of my new Captivate was kinda weak. Holding it side by side to my brother's iPhone 4 I had three bars (usually 2), while my brother has a full five bars. I know it can be any number of things, but I feel that it's probably something like the GPS, where it needs some sort of fix.I was just wondering if anyone had a similar problem, or have any ideas of how to fix it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I'd been wondering why my battery at work doesn't last that long. I knew signal strength was an issue, but then I opened up Spare Parts and checked battery usage. Normally ebuddy is only running when it does quick message checks and has a pretty short partial wake time. Out here where it keeps having to reconnect, the phone has a 100% running time, and ebuddy is always on! Fair warning to all my instant message addicts.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have never had any problems at home with either my trusty unlocked N95 or Orange Sony Ericsson T610 (remember them?) so I had no qualms over ordering a nice shiny (dark brown) HTC Desire.
3G coverage is a bit iffy in the area as I'm right on the border of an excellent to good area so I never expected to have super fast data over the air, but I have wifi locally for that anyway.
So you can imagine my disappointment when the first call with the mobile from home cut off quite suddenly. A retry to reconnect failed with a no service message and no signal strength. I then spent the next hour playing around with the settings turning off wifi, data, setting the phone to 3G only (no chance) and then GSM only.
When the phone was working and making a call the audio was not clean and very digital. There was also a chance that mid call you would be cut off for no reason. When it wasn't playing ball at all the signal strength varied from three bars down to zero without moving the phone. Sometimes upon initiating the call it came back immediately with no signal and cutting the call off. Picking the phone up from sitting on the side in sleep mode you were usually presented with a no service message.
Orange were excellent and immediately replaced the phone, a courier arriving at 6:15pm upon reporting the problem at 8:30am that morning. Unfortunately the replacement was exactly the same.
Even worse, my place of work is in a designated poor reception area. There are a number of us on Orange as it is the only network that can at a pinch be picked up inside. My Desire...no signal at all. Moving to a window seat got me two bars but the phone refused to connect or hold a call. The only time it did calling 150 sounded like I was listening to a recording of a Darlek. A Nokia 5300 on Orange alongside was nice and clear, with very good tone by comparison.
By chance another member of staff also had recently signed up with Orange on a Desire (500mins, unlim texts, 500Mb, free phone, 20). In a back to back test both phones were the same. We even tried swapping SIMs. Luckily for him he has no problems with reception when at home so is quite happy with the Desire.
Contacting Orange again I did not get much further. Talking to technical support they were not much help and suggested that they did not warrant the phone to work inside the building and as I could make a continuous call outside then they did not class the phone at fault. This included my problems at home in what is termed an excellent coverage area! When I pointed out that two other phones I owned did work in the very same location I was told that mobile designs differ and positions of antennas vary considerably.
Frustrated I decided the only course of action was to use my right to cancel within 7 days as it was apparent that I was not going to be able to resolve the issue. Even last night it performed perfectly for a couple of calls and then failed miserably an hour later.
As a gadget I was smitten. Even as I handed the package over to the Post Master today I was inwardly screaming GIVE IT BACK! Unfortunately I need to be able to make calls on it when I want, not when it wants.
I have only seen a couple of other members note a similar problem on these forums but I have noticed a large number of Nexus problems that sound very similar. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this or do you all live in 5/5 coverage areas?
I noticed I was getting barely any reception after flashing cognition 2.2 so I used Odin to change back to stock. I still get barely any reception no matter where I go, and I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help would be much appreciated.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had the Vibrant for a couple days now.Unfortunately, I have a VERY weak 3G signal and my call quality really isn't that great. In my house, when I hold my phone right next to my Dad's Nuron, he has a full 3G signal while I have 0 bars. That is frustrating to see.The phone isn't incapable of having 3G signal, when I travel outside of my neighborhood it usually has a very strong signal. It seems that whenever I am around a lot of trees or in buildings, the signal is very weak.I mostly just have an Edge signal. Also, the call quality is terrible. I don't think it has to do with the signal because even when I have full 3G bars, it still sucks.
View 3 Replies View Relatedsince the update i seem to have a much weaker signal and calls are getting dropped. quite often it seems that i bounce between 3g and 1x. anyone else?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was talking to my friend the other day, and supposedly her friend showed her how his blackberry when having no cell signal, could connect to a wifi signal, and then through that signal have service and call/text. Can the hero do that?
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy new htc hero is having trouble with my wifi/router, it conects if i turn the router off than on but then the connection drops, i then go to search for my modem and it says signal is strong but yet when i click on connect nothing happens, I'm sure its a setting on the router itself as my blackberry had the same trouble.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've searched, but couldn't find any mention of this issue. I apologize if I missed it. My understanding was that I could use my WiFi connection to browse the internet and such while I was talking on the phone? Is that right? It seems that everytime I'm on the phone (usually on bluetooth), the EVO disconnects immediately from my WiFi at home? Do I have some setting off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNo matter where I go I have terrible 3G coverage. Either a weak signal or no coverage at all. I've had a blackberry before and always had great 3G coverage in these same areas. What could be the problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with my fascinate's signal. I know that bars are not indicative of the signal you are receiving, but my phone is usually at 0-1 bars most of the time it does jump to 2 bars on occasion. I am usually around -101dbm for my signal. I do not get any dropped calls, but I do get garbled and static phone calls on occasion. The big issue is the 3g. It takes forever for WebPages to load, and sometimes they half load, then take forever to load the rest of the way. If I restart the phone, it works but only for a few hours. I am coming from the droid incredible that had awesome radio and 3g signals. I never had an issue, so I know its not my area. I bought the phone from my friend, brand new, as it was his upgrade that he sold me. However, Verizon will not let me exchange it, even though it is a new activation. My question I guess is there any way that I can boost my signal, or is this just a flaw in the hardware that I am stuck with until I decide to buy another phone? I have tried *228, 1 and 2, as well as talking to verizon teir 2 techs. they were not much help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of issues with my device. It hangs frequently and the WiFi signal is weak and drops after a few minutes no matter what. I have the latest firmware so that isn't the problem. Many apps seem to run in the background even though I didn't start them and when I exit them the right way with the back button they're still running. What to do? I like the phone but it doesn't seem very stable so far.

My older phone is Sidekick 3, the vibrate on that thing is a monster. however the hero is so weak i could never feel anything not even if i place it on my skin of my leg. Vibrate is very important to me. I even wrapped my pant tight so it presses against my skin harder but nope! I'm seriously thinking about sending it back.
were anyone able to feel their phone vibrate? if so what pattern and how do you wear it?
On my old iphone and my new EVO 4g, the screen blacks out when calling someone so that you cant accidentally touch the screen and end a call.My wifes hero does not do this, does anyone know if this can be fixed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSomebody please tell that im just having a bad dream. Am I the only one who can't talk and text at the same time. Every time I try i they don't send. Is it a settings issue or can the phone just not do it. If it can't i'm blown.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got my sprint hero last week. I noticed that while talking on the phone for longer than 5 minutes the phone seems to get extremely hot. In particular the speaker in the front and where the camera is in the back. The heat generated is really intense and is really uncomfortable after a certain amount of time. What I want to know is anybody else having this issue?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI understand that the hero has no proximity sensor, and so does not lock the screen while talking on the phone. So has anyone been having problems with pressing on-screen buttons with their face and stuff? Has the absence of the proximity sensor been an issue with the Hero?
