View 11 Replies View RelatedI received my Galaxy today after much waiting around for O2 UK to make it available. I've been perusing both the Galaxy and other Android device forums and it seems that there's a huge amount of difference between how to get custom ringtones / notification sounds working between different phones.
Has anyone got it working on the Galaxy yet? I'd love to replace the standard sounds with Zelda ones.
This is my first Android phone, and I'm fairly confused as to how I am to go about this problem. I've tried putting them in /media/audio/ringtones as well as the .nomedia text file solution, but unless I am doing something wrong, or it just works differently with this phone, the files still appear in the Music Player app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedPhone: Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, Android 4.4.2
Settings/Notifications: Use system sounds: ON
Set your ring tone as custom ring tone which is .midi file. Please note that .midi is default extension for custom ring tones for Android 4.4, .mp3 can't be set as ring tone (at least, on my phone).
For incoming Viber call: do not answer and wait for other party to hang up.
Ring tone continues to play even after disconnect, the only way to stop it is to exit from Viber (or to terminate Viber using Task manager).
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got a SF about a week ago, and am loving it! I rooted within 30 mins of leaving the store, and wanted to downclock the phone when the screen is off. I've been reading a bit, and apparently the Fascinate downclocks automatically to 100MHz by itself? Can anyone confirm this for me please? I tried setting the screen off profile on SetCPU to 200MHz, but noticed my phone freezing up in standby mode. Nothing would wake it up, except a battery pull. I tried bumping up the speed to 400MHz, same effect. I noticed the problem became worse and worse since I've installed it. I had to stop using SetCPU. The problem went away after I stopped using it. I was using SetCPU 2.00 I believe. Also, another question. Is there anyway to set custom ringtones for individual contacts? I don't see the option anywhere.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in Canada and my service provider is Rogers, however I bought the phone in Hong Kong. At first, I rooted my Galaxy S i9000 so I can remove the stock apps, but I couldn't seem to unroot it so I flashed the firmware. At first it said "failed" so I had to reboot it back into download mode to start the flashing again. I forgot to put on the back cover during the flash and the battery fell out. Now when I turn on my Galaxy S, it stays on the welcome screen where it says "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung" and does not do anything. Is my phone bricked and what can I do to fix it?
