Samsung Galaxy S :: WIFI Stops Working After While?

Has anyone else noticed that on the Galaxy S, the Wifi will stop to respond after a few disconnects? I usually have wifi off to save battery, but now and then some application will turn it on and after I stop it (either using the message bar or settings) the wifi stops working. Under settings it will be greyed out and say something like "Shutting down..." but you cannot click it again, turn it on or anything else. A reboot works but thats kind of annoying.

Since a few month my WiFi does not work properly. When I activate it, it automatically connects to the access point. But after 3 minutes, the connection stops working. The WiFi symbol in the status bar disappears and 3g starts working. When i disable and reenable wifi everything works fine again for 3 minutes. I already tried a static IP. Other devices (laptop) have no problems with the same network.

My data plan is eating me alive and I didn't know why until I finally noticed that when I am at a hot spot, my wifi never connects until my data plan is locked out.
I have a Note, not a Note II. I am on Rogers, not ATT.
I've tried adjusting everything I can think of, tried a hard reboot of my phone, and when I looked for support with android OS, I couldn't find this Wi-Fi disconnect policy they were talking about anywhere on my phone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and i am banging my head against the wall because Play store won't open or do anything when connected to my wifi. it is however functional when wifi is turned off and only mobile data is active. Things i've tried (and still not working)
1. Cleared cache and data for Play store, google services, download manager and download.
2. uninstalled updates
3. Have tried seeing if anything has disabled and it hasn't, the last app on my 'all' is you tube
4. reset my phone to factory settings.
I feel like a pleb as I had this problem when I first got the phone but the clearing cache and data worked then and was fine for weeks but now nothing seems to work.

So I flashed the latest nightly and stable Cyanogenmod yesterday and it as garbage. Keyboard wasn't working, wifi, lots and lots of problems. Then I flashed Vision-X, which was very nice, however my wifi was not working. I figured it was the kernel so I tried to download one and flash it, didn't fix it. So I went back to stock. Then I came across Omega ROM, which looks amazing. I want it, but I'm afraid that if I go through the flashing process, the wifi won't work again, and to get it back to stock is time consuming. which is supposed to let you flash one of those files in odin and it corrects the wifi issue. The problem is, how in the world are you supposed to know what version to get? There's like 50 listed. I have a Sprint SPH-L20, which is another thing that confuses me, I figured out it's a "I9505", but no where on the box, or in the phone does it say "I9505".

I figured I would try and use Lock 2.0 on my Moment - and it works for awhile, and then all of a sudden it stops working and my lock screen goes back to the standard lock.

It starts, get to the Samsung screen.. and starts again... and again ... and again.I can start it in recovery mode, but wipe cache and wipe data/ factory reset did not solve the issue...

I am tempted to take my moment back despite liking it so much. Recently, when I was using the browser or anything that uses the 3g connection, it would just stop communicating and nothing would get loaded. If I waited a while (an hour) it would sometimes come back or I would have to do a reboot in order to get back the connection. Anyone else running into this problem? What should I do?

My volume just stops working for notifications and ringtones.After I take the battery out it starts to work again but then stops?I miss calls this way and dont know when im getting texted The phone also freezes alot and is slow whats the deal is there a fix? my phone came with the updated software 2.1.

Dont know if anyone else has this problem, but during a call my touchscreen turns off, the proximity sensor stops the screen lighting up but even if i dont put the phone to my head the touchscreen stops working.
Buttons still work and i have to use them to use the dial pad. Really annoying when you are trying to navigate automated menus etc as half the time it doesnt work as they pickup too much noise from using the buttons on the front.

Galaxy S on 3 with stock 2.1 ROM. When I'm listening to music on the default music player and activate the camera the music stops. If it paused I wouldn't be so bothered but it actually puts you back to that start of the track. A real pain if you're 45 mins into a podcast. Is this normal Android behaviour or Galaxy S specific? Or worse - specific to me?

I have two constant issues on my Epic-I've been ignoring them for a month but there must be a fix & I could really use your help! Also it would be good to hear from others who are seeing the same things so I know I am not completely insane...
1 - My screen brightness seems to adjust up on its own... To increase battery life I have it set all the way down...but, for example, as I was typing this post the brightness increased on its own... Any ideas?
2 - My voice recognition stops working all the time...not with one app either... Resetting my profile seems to fix it for about 5 minutes but it doesn't take long for it to go TU again

I'm not sure if this is an android problem, or a samsung i9000 problem, but either way it's an annoying problem that I'd love to find a solution for ?_? I simply cant get the alarm to work for me (overnight. it's fine in the very short term). It appears to be because the clock stops moving/updating when the phone goes to sleep, because when I turn the screen back on I can see that the time is off by multiple hours, depending upon when it stopped updating, and stays that way for a couple of seconds before changing to the correct time.
Things to note here..
I do NOT use a task killer
The alarm volume is up
I have tried the alarm both with and without the Automatic, network provided time setting. The clock still stops moving. I've not updated anything from the standard (UK) firmware

I tried to unlock my SPH-L720 (Sprint's GS5) so I downgrade baseband to MDC, all good so far, then I tried to upgrade the baseband again after the unlocking process but got an error, and that's it wifi and sound are not working, phone is slow, it has a security notice that something was block, and I can't flash it to stock ROM or anything using Odin, only got errors.

I have recently picked up a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (Android 2.1) on Rogers Wireless. I've been having an issue with the wifi on it, it only works intermittently when I'm at home. It will connect to my network without issues, but none of the data-enabled apps can access anything, they just time out. While this is happening my old iPhone (recent android convert) and my Nintendo Wii are able to connect flawlessly. This ONLY happens when I'm at home on my own network from what I've seen, when I'm on the wifi at my work everything works fine. Has anyone seen issues like this or have any suggestions as to what may be causing it? FYI I have tried different wifi channels, currently my router is setup to use TKIP on WPA2 for encryption.

Apparently the new iPhone will stay connected to wifi even while the screen is locked.This is nice because with my current iPhone,I use about 3-4 megs of data a day even if I never leave my house (which has wifi).It would be nice if the Captivate didn't do that since I have the 200-meg plan with AT&T and I'd like to use my data for web surfing, not checking for email in the background. Would anyone mind checking this for me?

I have a evo that i had since launch day at 6am in the morning. Done all the updates and am unrooted. Today all of a sudden i can not go into market then i notice i can not do anything with Internet. But my 3g has 3 bars. Did a battery pull still nothing turned mobile network on and off still does not work. Any suggestions?

I've setup email on my hero in the mail app. It works fine for a couple of days and then suddenly it just stops working. I've tried it with a yahoo account and a gmail account in the mail app and both do the same thing. Using the gmail account I have set it up so its using exchange server. It works fine for a couple of days, it pushes email to my hero fine but then after a couple of days it will stop working. Even if i click the refresh icon it wont retrieve my email. I have to delete the account and set it up again to get it working again.Why is this happening? Obviously the settings are correct otherwise it wouldn't work for the first couple of days and then stop. Help really appreciated as this is the only issue i am having with the phone now.

I swear that WiFi seems to quit working half the time. I'll be browsing the web, it will quit working, and I can turn WiFi off and 3G works just fine. When I re enable Wifi, it works for a bit and then does it again. I'm on a 24MB/s Internet connection, and everything else wireless in the home works fine(my iPhone 4 works flawlessly).

Ever since the latest OTA update, the 3G on my Eris just stops working when I wake it up. The 3G icon at the top tool bar disappears even though the Mobile Widget I have on one of my screens says that it's on. So what I have to do is toggle the Mobile Widget to turn 3G off then on again. But oh wait, sometimes the Mobile Widget doesn't even respond so I have to go to settings and turn off then on the 3G. This is really annoying and this happens with my aunt's Droid Eris too. Any ideas on what my aunt and I should do?

Whenever possible I always use the landscape keyboard but have noticed that sometimes in messages (and web browser) that if I spot a mistake and use the trackpad or touch the screen to go back and correct whatever I type on the keyboard will not appear in the text. The keyboard still responds as you can see the popups for the keys when you press them but the text doe not go into the box. The only way I found to cure this is to close and reopen the keyboard and everything then starts working. I am running the recent OTA firmware update on a completely unrooted unbranded Desire.

I'm using Eclipse and the Android SDK for Linux. When I start my emulator at the beginning of the day it works fine. Later in the day it's sluggish and still later it won't start at all. This computer runs Debian linux, the testing branch, with 1Gig memory and a two 1.6 Ghz processors. On another machine I have, the emulator works the same at the beginning and end of the day.
It has 500M ram and a single 1.6 Ghz processor. As it turns out I cannot use the second machine for all my daily tasks. How can I get the first machine to work? Is it the number of processors? I cannot figure out how to disable a processor in the emulator. I was looking at the '-qemu' options, but none seems to do the trick. I don't understand the qemu options that well.

I have a ListView which has a TextView in the row. The TextView has been Linkified and has had setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance()) set on it.
The ListView is no longer selectable and the ListView's getSelectedItemPosition() always return -1 .
Is there a way to know where the ListView has scrolled to in this case?

With the new version, every 2-3 days my Swype keyboard stops working. I can type normally (pushing individual letters), but swyping doesn't work.
If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.

LG Nexus 5. For the 2nd time in a month my Swiftkey (paid version) has stopped working. Grrr. The only way I could get it working again was uninstall and reinstall. Nothing else worked. I sent a support request to Swiftkey on this (no response yet). Any way to prevent it?
