I'm having some strange problem with my Sony Xperia SL.I use Virtual Router Manage on my Laptop to connect my mobile to internet over Wi-Fi. From this morning none of the apps are connecting to Internet(Play Store, Instagram, Subway Surfers, Browsers, etc.) except WhatsApp. I've tried resetting Settings on my phone. Also reset the Wi-Fi modem on my Laptop. Still the same.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince two days ago everything was fine and everything worked perfectly, it was almost too good to be true, and of course something had to break. My phone is connected to my home wireless and it even has really strong signal but going on the internet simply doesnt work. Going on with mobile data works, but connected to my main wifi source doesnt. I've been trying everything from dailing *#0011# to changing the ips and gateways and whatever. It can connect to the wifi but going on the internet/facebook/youtube is difficult.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I just downloaded Android 4.3 for my GS4 and since then whenever I turn on wi-fi I get a notification saying an unauthorized app is trying to access the system. It is preventing me from using wi-fi at all and is really costing me in data usage. What do I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a galaxy s4 today. The media controller on my galaxy gear was working fine before but now it isn't at all. Everything else is functioning except that. The devices are paired and I recently tried hard resetting the gear twice and no results.
Strangely enough, I've used my gear with 4.1.2 on my s3 and the media controller is the one thing that worked almost consistently.
So i bought my galaxy tab 3 yesterday and everything worked fine. I only got to download 2 apps and then every single of googles services stopped working youtube gmail google play etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am able to pull up my list of contacts, but when I click on a contact I get the message "Unfortunately, contacts have stopped working" and it send me to the home screen. I have a Samsung Galaxy Light running Jelly Bean 4.2.2. The phone worked fine for awhile, then started giving me the error messages. If I do a factory reset, the problem is fixed for a few days, but then the contacts problem persists again. I have tried all of the following:
1. Clearing the contacts cache
2. Enabling contacts storage - it already was running and there is no place to "Disable" or "enable" that I can see.
3. Factory reset - works for a few days and then the problem reoccurs
4. Change Date settings to a different format
5. Change time settings to a 24 hr format
Nothing has worked so far.
I've had a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for just over a year. A few weeks ago, I updated to Android 4.2.2 whilst visiting my parent's house and it started continually rebooting itself. I did a factory reset (or two) before figuring out that it's entirely down to the WiFi. If I get in quick enough and don't allow it to connect, the problem stops, and it only occurs with the WiFi at my parent's house (though it always worked fine before the update). I've tried unplugging the WiFi repeater, which was a relatively new addition to the house, but it hasn't made a difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have samsung galaxy S2 with 4.1.2; when my phone goes in sleep/lock mode the wifi disconnects. when i unlock my phone then wifi connects again. I installed many wifi keep alive applications but none of them work wifi keep alive application which keeps my wifi session on -- even if my phone is in sleep mode
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 on my Galaxy S4 and since then the Hands-free turns on automatically every few minutes. It is annoying, especially since I do not use it. Tried to turn it off but it comes back by itself. The people at AT&T ddisabled it but it came back after a few hours.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave set up Portable Wi-Fi hotspot on my 4S 4.2.2. Everything seems OK and laptop identifies AP and connects to it
but there is no internet connection to the phone. Data 3G works perfectly - regular internet works perfectly - Orange UK.
I'm using the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on 4.2.2 with Nova Launcher and just recently after disabling apps, etc. my Video player app no longer opens. I press it and it freezes for 15 seconds and says unfortunately it has stopped working. On top of that every time I delete a contact, it deletes the contact but gives me a message like "android.process.acore" had stopped working and exits the contacts app.
I've tried enabling any potential function that I may have disabled to have that issue and no luck. I also cleared cache and data of the contacts list and contacts storage but no luck. I honestly do not want to format data as I have already done it 3 times prior to this issue and it is tedious. EDIT: Fixed video player by enabling picasa uploader and cloud Agent. Still no luck with the error message after deleting contact.
My Google play store randomly stopped working earlier today. It isn't closing or crashing. It is just endlessly loading. No time out message or error message. Tried with both 4g and wifi. I am using a Galaxy s3 on Verizon, jelly bean 4.3. The only thing I noticed is that Clash of Clans updated this morning but I was able to get on and download the update and then get back on play store but like not long after that it won't open.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't own an Android 4.3 tablet yet but I need to know the following things.I wanted to restrict my device so that a user is unable to change any settings (in particular turn on/off WiFi) and disable all applications except one.How strict is the restriction?
If I disable all apps except one what will the restricted user be able to do?
In an ideal scenario I'd like the restricted user to do only 3 things:
a) turn the tablet on/off
b) turn the application of my choosing on/off
c) all other options would be disabled
d) the restricted user should NOT see any data of the administrator
I cant sync my google accounts ('sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shorly)
Google maps says 'no network connection'
Play store says 'server error'
Gmail says 'waiting for sync, your emails will appear shorly'
Sounds like my internet is broken? ITS NOT. whatsapp and opera mini, web browser is still working 100% and able to connect
I have tried:
turning sync of and on
clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.
I just checked my nexus 7, and I had some twitter. Facebook messenger, instagram notifications that never showed up on my moto g while I was on Data. How come I don't get certain notifications when using data? They only show up when I connect to my WiFi
What's app, bbm, and emails are working correctly as push.
The wifi worked fine until I disconnected for the first time. Since then the phone never wanted to reconnect to our private network no matter what I tried. I tried switching the wifi off and back on again. Tried switching the phone on and off again multiple times. I even tried to use a static IP address but that also didn't seem to work. I also tried switching the 'Wi-Fi optimisation' off as well as setting the 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Always'.
With one of my previous phone (HTC Wildfire) I've experienced the infamous wifi-loop many times (Connecting, Fetching Ip, Connected, Disconnected, Connecting...). But I never experienced that on my Xperia S(Android 4.1) (although I have experienced different wifi problems on it (i.e., IP clashes, etc.)).
The problem is NOT at the modem (I've tried reseting it MANY time and it still doesn't solve my solution. My laptop is successfully connected to our wifi. And I even tried switch the laptop off). The phone itself is not connecting AT ALL to the wifi. It is however connecting to my mobile network.
I want to install my apps only when I'm wifi connected. It's install not update.
I already checked those options in Google Play Store settings related to update app in wifi, but it continues to instant install my apps after I click install at Google Play in my desktop browser even if I'm using 3G.
I've a Samsung Galaxy S3.
Its been a week since I am facing this issue. When I sleep and the phone goes into stand by mode, it automatically turns on WiFi even though I have already disabled the option saying, KEEP WLAN ON DURING SLEEP.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOften there are wifi points that make the radio connection like an open network, but really require some entering of registration on a web paage before actually connecting to internet. Starbucks here in Japan is an example.
My s4 connects wifi signal to such points, but after it cannot complete the registration, it thinks "no internet", even though it has perfectly strong LTE connection. And refuses to connect via LTE. In such case, I have to turn off wifi and then it's fine.
This is annoying in my office because my group's wifi is different from the one for the building in general, so I have to turn the wifi off and on depending on where I am in the building.
Is there a way to tell the s4 to "ignore wifi that doesn't have internet connection and use Cell signal instead"?
Working Wifi tether for root users on jelly bean? It hasn't worked on any of the jelly bean roms for me. I've tried must main stream jb roms for the galaxy nexus.

When I use a sound sensor app it is showing a reading of 20 to 25 dB which is way below 50 dB that my other android phone is reporting at the same time in the same room. View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I leave my WiFi on, every time the phone encounters a WiFi network I lose data connectivity because it tries to use the WiFi network even though it is passworded and I'm not logged on, instead of me 3G.
How do I prevent this behavior and just have it use my 3G until I'm logged into a WiFi network or the WiFi network has an internet connection?
I had Xolo Q700 Android jelly bean 4.2. There is no option of WiFi Direct in send file option. I want to know how to use wifi direct for sending the files.

Well I have S4 I9500 and whenever I tried to connect to my work network after updating to a clean android 4.3*OTA, I receive a notification stating that: This network has been disconnected. You need to sign-in again. This also happened to all 4.3 users in my workplace. 2 colleagues using Note 3 and another colleague using S4 19500. All of us can log onto various networks outside of our workplace like home and coffee shops. After doing some research I found out that I have to turn off wifi optimization but that option is not available in S4.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy android 4.1.2 really turns off the wifi when in sleep mode. I see it in the battery monitor.
But after I formated the cellphone, It started with the bug of not turning off the wi-fi in the sleep mode, even when set to do it Maybe some app that I installed before has changed some internal settings!
Before, my battery was lasting almost 4 days, I not use it too much, but now it lasts 2 days only... and I have sure that it's because of the wi-fi bug.
Is there an explanation as to why my Android shows "Connected to null" after I turn the WIFI off?? What does that mean?
