I am trying to setup my email app but it won't let me pass the setup screen because it says that my server is not a trusted one. This is because of the certificate that is instaled on my server. On my desire I could click on continue but on the galaxy it won't let me go any further and it returnes me to the setup screen. Please help me find a way to add my server to the trusted list.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to use HttpPost over https/ssl. I get 'Not trusted server certificate' error. I've found a lot of posts, seems that many people have similar problems and I've found two suggestions: 1) Change server's certificate. Current certificate is self-signed as localhost.localdomain. Unfortunetly it's not my server and I cannot change the certificate. 2) Use HttpsUrlConnection instead of HttpClient. But I cannot use it because sometimes (when response's code is 401 or 403) I got IOException during getting response code or reading inputstream.
So I've found 3rd solution - use httpclient, when system throws excetpion 'not trusted server certificate' than display warning, inform user that certificate is not trusted and ask if he wants to add this one to the keystore (webbrowser works this way). But I've no idea how to get certificate from the server and add to keystore.
I have been trying to use httpclient to post data on https (secure). I have searched all forums of android but I could not find any solution that works with httpclient on https. I have seen some solutions using HttpsURLConnection. and SSLContext. I would like to go with httpclient not URLConnection as I require to manage cookies and al. Anyone else experiencing this problem or know of a solution? I have a Digicert signed https certificate that is throwing an SSLException (Not trusted server certificate). This doesn't make any sense as Digicert is a recognized certificate authority. I can connect to my https url without a problem via IE, Firefox, and Safari so they appear to have no issue with the certificate. Here's the code I'm using. Very simple stuff......................

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a co-worker who suddenly can not connect to her Exchange account via her phone. It mysteriously stopped syncing emails on Dec. 5, and since then the phone can not connect to the server. Error message reported is "Unable to connect to server." I even completely deleted the Exchange account from the phone and attempted to re-add it, but adding a new account failed with the same error message.
The weird thing is that the account worked perfectly fine before Dec. 5, and we can't think of anything that changed on the phone or on the server at that time. Meanwhile, other Android phones in our workplace continue to receive messages from the Exchange server, including my own Nexus 4 with the exact same server settings and another co-worker's Droid Razr.
The problem phone is a Samsung Galaxy S on US Cellular, running Android 2.3.6.
I have a Samsung i7500 (Galaxy).Originally, it had Android 1.5 installed, but I could not enter the Google Market with my google account and got this message: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server".I read here and across the web I should Factory-reset my phone, but it did not work.So I upgraded the firmware to Android 2.1 using this guide: How to Mustymod It worked, and now the phone had Android 2.1 installed, but I still cannot access the Google Market with my Google account. This time I did a factory-reset (Settings -> Privacy -> Factory reset) and also followed this guide to delete the provider-settings (eventually I removed the whole /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/ directory and not only that file.

I just get a text telling me to go to the website to view it.I have spoken to vodafone tech support about this and they sent me a PDF with instructions how to set MMS up. I have followed them to the letter and i am still having no job. These are the settings that i am using.

i know you all gona say that i should have used forum search which actually i did and i still cant find the answer of how to root (most resent or best methods). today i decided to go the way most of you went and root my galaxy so i could enjoy some of the features or customise the devise for it to be either faster or better somehow (particularly im interested in fixing HW acceleration of openGL). but my main problem is still that ADB doesnt show my device in the devices list after adb_devices command... i think ive tried everything: reinstalling drivers and NPS, SDK 1.5 r1 putting in debbuging, restarting phone even using USBdeview soft to uninstall all android and samsung drivers and try to make it work but still nothing... all day wasted, many forums read, downloaded KAM187s drivers and still nothing im on H8 firmware how to make adb recognise my phone and list it) plus i want some info on how to push this openGL fix on my phone after i root it (if ever) by the way tried on Windows 7 and XP sorry for making a new thread but i think im not the only one whose phone is not listed by adb as i read it on other forums.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with a brand new Galaxy i9000 and the wifi. I have managed to add one wifi network to it that I use at home. I have a second wifi network that I want to add, called cat, but when I try to add it from the Add wifi network place, it gives the error: Unable to save the network. i have tried a power on and off. Is there a maximum number of wireless networks one can save, or is there a problem with my actual 'phone? The phone is very laggy as well, and almost impossible to use when 3G is active. (Load averages are as high as 30 sometimes).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife recently got a SGS and we have just tried to download Kies so that she can put some music etc on it (she has a 16GB microsd card in it). However, when we try and install Kies it gets to the installation phase and then at the stage where it prompts you what to install, I selected "instal all" and then it thinks about it and comes back a minute later with a message "unable to connect to file server".Is this a common problem people have had? We are running Windows 7 64 bit, so I dont know if there is a compatability issue? If we cant get Kies to download (and I called their support line and of course no-one answers) is there another way to get data onto the phone and external card? Will I need to buy some kind of adaptor so that I can connect the microsd card and just treat it as any external hard drive?

I called Orange helpline and they talked me through set up - it worked for me to send one and receive one and then stopped working once I had switched the phone off (to recharge). The settings are still there although it will not let me select any other setting as there is only a green dot selection for one (there are three altogether - the manufactor one, one that was sent to me via SMS and a manual one). It is not possible to select any other one but settings on all three seem to be the same. When I receive one it just says 'downloading'. If you click on it it just tells you what sort of message it is and there are no other options. The problem is, if I type a really long text it converts to MMS which will then not send. So..I can't send or receive MMS's. Any suggestions?

Tried searching for information on this but didn't find anything.There seems to be some lag when transitioning from one app to another app or within the market app.Also when I download something from the market, the phone gets a lot slower.I'm sure Froyo will fix all of this.What is Samsung Kies? I'm in the US and can't access it.If there is anyway to get it,I will try it.AT&T 3G is working fine so far.However, the bars I get while indoors drop to only 2 and I have had 2 dropped calls already.Not Galaxy S fault, just plain old AT&T.Connected bluetooth to my car and got some disturbances.I need to try this a few more times before I call it an issue.Everything else works perfect.I don't know why everybody hates Touchwiz, I think it is better than Sense and close to stock 2.1 in performance.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to connect my Galaxy to the computer either through Kies or by just plugging it in the computer does not recognize my device. The following message comes up on my phone regardless of which connection method I choose. "PC connection available only on idle screen. Close running applications". The only thing I have running that I know of is the "weather widget" which is part of beautiful widgets. Can I get a list of applications running on my phone somehow? Is there a way to turn the weather widget off? I am assumming that that is the problem. Anyone else out there have similar difficulties hooking up to Kiev or just your PC with the same kind of message?

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S a few days back and was able to sign into the Android market via my gmail account. I even managed to download the BarCode scanner application.That's where the problems begun. Since auto-sync was on, all my gmail contacts were synced with my phone contacts. Now since I did not want to see my gmail contacts every time I try and make a call, I performed a factory reset on the phone (since there was no other way to get rid of all the gmail contacts at once). I then turned sync off and tried to sign in to my Google account, but it refused to do so. I get a message saying: "Unable to establish a reliable connection with server. This may be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. Please contact customer care if the problem persists." I even tried connecting with sync on just for the heck of it but it still did not work.The Samsung Customer Care service in India is truly pathetic. They said that: "We do not provide support for such technical problem" Wtf? They then proceeded to give a regional center number, which when I called.

File management and, file transfer applications to wireless link to my laptop followed by the transfer of all my work presentations (powerpoint) and lecture notes. All worked fine until today. Now, my device seems to have lost all the downloaded and installed apps (leaving gaps on the desktop). It has also discarded the image I had chosen for my screen background, and I can't see an icon to go to the Android store. Finally: on one of the screens I have the message "Problem loading widget". That might be connected to the problem that Android Market has completely disappeared. How do I get that back!! It's important. My transferred files are still sitting in folders in DCIM so that's good. but none of the special applications are visible. Can someone give an opinion on this. Has something taken place online with Samsung that has put my system back to its out-of-box state.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems as if I am unable to remove my external sd card from my Galaxy S. After uninstalling it under "Settings" i try to pull it out/push it in so that it snaps out but it cannot be moved out of the cartridge. I can only push it further in for 1 mm or so.
Is there anything I am not seeing or has anybody else had the same problem?

It's really annoying and means I can only send a few words on each text hah
I've read up online and ive tried downloading some SMS apps such as handcent etc but nothing is working I can't afford to buy a new phone currently, desperately trying to fix this.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S, with a program called DejaOffice. It syncs with a PC remotely just fine. Then it syncs with the native Android database. Recently it has started "joining" two similar contacts (Mother and Daughter, same home address, different cells numbers, different first names). The Android does this by itself. A contact disappears from the Android contacts database, and I go check one of the two contacts and find that the other has been joined to it. When I edit the remaining contact there are two Phone tabs, each with the correct information in it. I understand that if I then push the menu on the phone, there should be an option to Unjoin. But nothing happens when I press that menu button. If I simply select the contact (edit is then one of the menu choices), there is a Join menu selection (which works), but not an unjoin option.
