View 4 Replies View RelatedAll the specs posted on the blogs say the galaxy phones are "expandable to 32GB". Does this mean you can add 16GB card to get a total of 32GB, or that you can add 32GB for a total of 48GB? The way it's been worded on all the sites I get the impression that the max SD card you can put in is 16GB but that seems silly. Can anyone confirm? I'm looking at the US versions, most likely the AT&T Captivate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I am using the native email application with an Exchange account. I do not like the email counter telling me how many unread messages I have. I have notifications turned off so I do not have anything showing up in my notification bar. Is there a way to disable to email counter?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHad my Legend for about a month and a half now and I've started getting 'low phone memory' errors. Looked in the memory lists and it says the only 'biggies' are maps at 4mb each (and there's 4 of them?) and 'HTC mail' at 116mb. I only have my hotmail account, texts, and Gmail and they're all empty. Not really got that many applications installed (4 or 5) and had to remove some just to get the phone to stop reminding me. I've emptied the drafts, trash and cache and it made little to no difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to the android phone and have a Galaxy. For some reason my live wallpaper has reduced from the full size to a fraction on my screen. Does anyone know how I can take it back to the full size please?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs title - having tried everything I could find already suggested, I've completely run out of options. I'm unable to set the picture size taken by the camera on the Samsung Galaxy.
I don't set preview size anywhere and I've tried the ShutterCallback trick. On checking the camera parameters before and after attempting to change the size, I get the correct results - the camera *reports* that its size has now been changed... however, the size of the byte array I'm receiving in the onPictureTaken() callback is only consistent with the camera's default (enormous) image - and forces an OutOfMemoryError when I attempt to decode it into a bitmap!
It looks like I'm having a similar issue to this user: http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/threa... - but unfortunately it looks like no solution was found then, either :
No matter what I do I cannot make the final camera image be smaller than the gigantic 5MP which effectively crashes the poor old BitmapFactory.
The ShutterCallback trick is in use. Does somebody have some other ideas?
Boy, it feels like going all the way back to J2ME.
The following works fine on a G1 but gives an error on the Samsung Galaxy. I was hoping cross-platform support would be better than this. See error below.
private final static int RATE = 44100; private final static int CHANNEL_MODE = AudioFormat.CHANNEL_CONFIGURATION_MONO; private final static int ENCODING = AudioFormat.ENCODING_PCM_16BIT; private AudioRecord recorder_; public boolean open() { int bufferSize = 4 * AudioRecord.getMinBufferSize(RATE, CHANNEL_MODE, ENCODING); recorder_ = new AudioRecord(AudioSource.MIC, RATE, CHANNEL_MODE, ENCODING, bufferSize);
last line gives the following on the Samsung Galaxy phone: 11-14 19:04:07.507: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(7617): java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid audio buffer size.
I wanted to change the size of my icons, so that more of them could fit on the screen. So I download LCD Density Modder and Increased the amount to 160. After I booted my phone, my screen got zoomed in instead of decreasing. Now I cant even type up my password cause the numbers can't fit in the screen. I have no access to my phone because my phone is locked. Btw, I have a Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 (rooted) .
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust moved from iPhone to Galaxy S3 ICS. The Email app has no place to change the font/text size and it is HUGE. Like so huge I can read the text 6 feet away, that is not an exageration. I need to shirink this by at least 50%,

I'm missing space on my phone, and seemed to the software I have installed on the phone is hard to see it properly.
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

My company mail doesn't support IMAP or exchange
just got the Samsung galaxy s3 and I can't set up my email for my company. It is my own company and I use godaddy for my domain name and email. Never had a problem with my old blackberry. Is there something I am missing? Keeps saying it cant do it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMine works fine but I'm curious. Coming from Blackberry I'm scratching my head. BB works by using a BB server as a proxy. I have a pop3 account set up. Now I understand how it sends when I am at home as the wifi is feeding my isp's broadband which is where my Pop3 account resides. But when I leave wifi it still sends
If I do the same thing with a laptop and go to another WiFi spot provided by a different ISP my email will receive but not send- unless I change the outgoing server to that WiFi provider's. I would have presumed that over 3G that I'd have the same issue - as the phone companies outgoing sever is handling my email? Or am I missing something.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace which recently went on Gingerbread.
Now, I have been trying to set up my Yahoo email on the phone. If I go to "Email"; I get an option to only download emails from Inbox, Drafts and Sent Items.
I have created a lot of folders in the email account so I'd like to have those on the phone as well. How do I do that.
I would rather prefer not using the Yahoo Mail App as that is very slow.
So when push email is enabled (for my exchange work email only) my battery drains 10% every hour, even if i don't touch the phone it drains 10% Is this normal?
Looking at my screen, the 3G icon in the notification bar is constanlty changing between a 3G and H and the arrows are lighting up all the time. I don't receive to many emails (between 1 and 5 an hour)
I have recently flashed to JM5 and have only had that problem since comming to0 JM5. I have tried to different tricks for restting the battery stats and calabrating the battery but nothing really works.
I have had the SGS for a few days.
It must be possible to add more than one number to a contact, but I can't find it.
I thought that Samsung would have a better manual on the net, but I can't find that either.
Any ideas?

The last 2 weeks, suddenly my emailaccounts were totally erased. One of them is Echange and the other one POP.
After installing them again there seems to be some content of the old accounts.
Am a new user with 2 questions
1. I have downloaded albums to the music app. Some are titled "Untitled" with the date. I know what the contents are - how can I change the album name?
2. I us aol mail and it is forwarded to gmail on the phone. Recently some email, addressed to my usual aol email address is sent to the phone's gmail but not to the aol email (so it is only on the phone as a gmail message and not to computer as an aol mail.
The stock email app for my GS4 was working fine until today. Now every time I try to send an email out or reply to an email the app just freezes and the screen goes black and then when you press the power button it takes me back to the lock screen and you can't swipe to unlock for about a few seconds. then I get a message that the app is not responding. How do I fix this? I tried restarting my phone and clearing the cache but still no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a samsung galaxy s3 for about a week now, and everything has been working on it fine until today. Suddenly one of my email accounts decided that it had the wrong password (a University email address); I tried deleting the address and re-adding but now it won't let me add it as it says that the address or password is incorrect.
As i know the password is right and really need this email address to work!
I signed into the Email app(not gmail) with my yahoo account and now I can't log out, I searched for a sign out button but couldnt find one, I'd really hate to factory reset my phone.
2nd question: My phone resets by itself each day most of the time when I'm browsing the market, a question mark will appear over the battery icon or a blocked sign(the circle with the slash running through it) will come up, the screen goes black for 10-15 seconds, the home/back/settings buttons are still lit up. Should I just exchange it for a different one since it's been giving me these problems? Also, Inception came on the phone and now whenever I try and play it, it says file not found. I'm thinking of going to the tmobile store tomorrow and exchanging it for a different one.
I have a co-worker who suddenly can not connect to her Exchange account via her phone. It mysteriously stopped syncing emails on Dec. 5, and since then the phone can not connect to the server. Error message reported is "Unable to connect to server." I even completely deleted the Exchange account from the phone and attempted to re-add it, but adding a new account failed with the same error message.
The weird thing is that the account worked perfectly fine before Dec. 5, and we can't think of anything that changed on the phone or on the server at that time. Meanwhile, other Android phones in our workplace continue to receive messages from the Exchange server, including my own Nexus 4 with the exact same server settings and another co-worker's Droid Razr.
The problem phone is a Samsung Galaxy S on US Cellular, running Android 2.3.6.
