I've been running Launcher Pro on my SGS for a few days and want to revert back to Touchwiz for a comparison.
The problem is I can't find the menu where you can access the default selections. It's not in the same place it was on my N1.

Can someone point out how to restore the basic Android Launcher or help me fix the Dialer. When I select the dialer on the dock it states "Application not installed." There is no settings for Android Launcher or dragging over a app to replace that icon doesn't work either.So basically, i need to delete it with Titan and restore it.Cant find how to reinstall it when i uninstall it.

It is now available on the android market! Just search for adw, and install. As galax0 keeps the Launcher.apk in memory, you'll want to get rid of the Advanced Launcher and replace it with this one.
I used the following adb commands after installing from the market:
adb remount
adb shell
su
cp /system/app/Launcher.apk /system/app/Launcher.bak
reboot

Steps to install on Galaxy:
1) Make sure you have Galaxo 1.6.x. I used newest recovery, 4.6.2, although I doubt it matters.
2) Put the zip on the internal sdcard.
3) Reboot recovery
4) Perform a Nandroid Backup (very important!)
5) Perform the fix permissions operation.
6) Apply the zip you downloaded using the "apply any zip from SD" option.
7) Reboot.
In fact,I have Samsung Galaxy S4 [clone] and problem is:When I power on mobile,automatically show pop-up message ""Unfortunately launcher has stopped" and I cant go to menu or others.

I'd like to fix it without a factory reset, if possible.Galaxy S, Android 2.1, bought in Singapore, SingTel settings but bought it unlocked. Currently in Indonesia. (Can't look up Baseband Version, Kernel Version and Build Number on the phone now for obvious reasons.)A short while after installing ADW.Launcher, the Home button became unresponsive, and a minute or two later the phone restarted itself (the way it's done by itself a handful of times since I bought the phone - without going through the whole power down and power up sequences of sounds and graphics). Then I only had a black screen with date and time at the bottom, and the menu and back buttons lit up, and now I can't get the display back. It seems to start normally, with the logos and sounds, but just returns to that black screen with date and time.
I know something's going on inside because I can swipe to unlock the screen (giving me a purely black screen). If I then press and hold Home, I get the haptic vibration that normally goes with the "recently used" menu. But if I randomly tap all over the black screen, and try to use the menu and back buttons (guessing where the menu items are) I get no response, and no haptic vibration.Holding down the power button gives me the usual power menu - I can select "Power off," but it restarts. I've removed the battery a couple of times, waited and replaced it - but no change.
At first I thought it was related to my SIM card, as it did the self-restart thing yesterday about 20 min after I got a new SIM card. But doing a google search suggests that this problem is sometimes related to launchers. And I removed the SIM card and restarted (removing battery) and it didn't help.The closest I could find to an answer to this problem was in the Droid X forum: HELP! I uninstalled launcher pro, and now have a black screen! - The solution there was to do a factory reset. I'd really rather not do that, but may not have a choice.
I have rooted my mobile but don't want the Samsung launcher but the default android launcher with 3 common buttons at the bottom. GT-I9082

Any recommendations as to what to do not to do, download not to download, or things to do first before reloading all my applications without getting back to a sluggish phone? Of course the best thing that could happen is to get 3.0 or whatever... Nah, that ain't gonna happen... The next best thing is to upgrade my phone...but... that aint gonna happen for me either for at least another 6 months...

Then it asks complete action using :flikie movie player or video player. I check use by default for this action and select video player. Then the video will play. My question: How do you restore app data from Google servers after a factory reset?
When I upgraded from Gingerbread to ICS, the phone warned me I would be losing all my data. Fortunately under "Settings - Back up and reset" I had checked the "Back up my data" as well as the "Automatic restore" options. When I completed the upgrade to ICS I not only automatically retained all my app data, but I didn't even have to re-download any apps. All my apps I had on Gingerbread, along with all the data, had been successfully and automatically carried over to ICS.
Recently I've been having issues with my home button. After rebooting and some other troubleshooting, I decided to factory reset my phone. Again I made sure the "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" options were checked. When I completed the factory reset it was like I just powered on my phone for the first time (OBVIOUSLY this is to be expected as I performed a Factory Reset).
Under the "Automatic restore" check box it states "When reinstalling an application, backed up settings and data will be restored". So I began to download and reinstall the apps I had before. The problem is NONE of the apps restored with the data I had backed up to Google servers. Did I do something wrong?
I'm a bit irked because I believe I received the exact same "you're going to lose your data" warning when I upgraded to ICS AND when I performed this recent factory reset. The difference is when I upgraded I got all my stuff back, so I figured after the factory reset, when I reinstalled my apps I'd get the data back too. I think it's only fair if Google really WILL restore data after an upgrade, but NOT restore data after a factory reset they should annotate that in their warning. Also maybe include a statement like, "After performing a factory reset you will not be able to retrieve app data from Google Servers. We recommend installing a third party app to save your important app data." But instead you get the same warning with two different results.
My Samsung S4 will not allow me to clear defaults (under application manager/ALL) on the phone dialer so i can choose between either the phone dialer or Skype or Viper etc..I have read and tried quite literally a dozen different answers all of which do NOT work... how to do this on a S4.... I was wondering if it will work if i Rooted my phone.

I didn't back them up either (I know I'm an idiot) well now I need somethings back, like voice recorder. But I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I can format the phone clear all the stuff but nothing brings it back. How do I restore this thing to factory defaults with everything installed????? I'm also getting tons of error messages now too...

Prior to the reset, I had successfully installed Ryan's one-click lag fix, and my phone was a demon.After the reset, I noticed the SU was left behind, and when I did Ryan's rooting step, it told me the phone was already rooted and that the lag fix was unavailable. When I click on lag fix it tells me a lag fix is already installed and reports this file: (/system/bin/playlogos1 less than 5kb). But I cannot find this file.
Do I have to reformat the internal memory and, if so, how do I do that? Does reformatting complicate restoring the phone again?
So I was getting rid of Bing and I was really tired and accidentally deleted the I500_BingSearchAndroid_07152010.apk instead of renaming it. Is there any way or restoring this short of restoring from an older Nandroid backup I have?

It keeps restarting itself after every 10 sec. Everybody is giving me advice to Hard Reset / Factory Reset to my device. But my Major problem is that I have some very very important (almost 900 pics) saved in its internal memory. These pics are very very important for me and I do not want to loose these pics at all.
I am unable to take backup because its does not recognised by my or any other Laptop due to it restarting issue. This is the reason why I am not giving my mobile to any technician because no one is giving me any guarantee about my data.

I have edited my launcher to look like a tablet for my s2 but i wanted to know how to hide the dock from the launcher or move the app drawer icon on top right or bottom right. Is there a way to do this? Also i dont want to install a different rom or launcher.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter testing/installing the popular "GO Launcher EX" my sound is completely gone. Of course I uninstalled that GO Launcher EX asap but it didn't work.
My problems:
- No sound during music, media, alarm etc while the sound volume bars all are maxed
- Every few seconds or when I press something usually a weird "tik tik" sound, it feels like the sound hardware has died or something
- When playing music you hear very low sound like "ZzzZZzzZzzz" like the hardware is not working or sound is not coming out

Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
