Jul 17, 2010Is it just me, or does the phone have LED indicator lights directly to the left of the ear speaker? You have to look pretty hard, but I believe those are LED lights. If they aren't lights, what the hell are they?

Samsung Vibrant :: Vibrant's Signal Indicator Is Completely Useless
Jul 29, 2010So I just get off the phone with a friend and I notice that the phone is miraculously showing full bars. I'm in the basement no less where it usually shows zero bars. After checking I now see it's showing zero bars again! I've never seen any phone with this much of a swing in the signal meter. To me, it's become almost humorous to watch it go from 4 to 0 then back again all in 10 seconds time. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, I hope Samsung fixes this problem in a future update as well. If no one else is having this problem I may exchange this phone for a new one.

Jul 17, 2010When I have about 50% battery left, the indicator in the notification bar makes it seem like I have 70-80% left. Does this happen to anyone else? Just wandering if anyone else noticed this or maybe it's just me. I've had it happen to my rooted G1 before and it was a software issue.

Aug 11, 2010They're barely noticeable only when there is a black background on the screen and the bottom four buttons are lit- then light will shine through the dead pixels....but when the home buttons deactivate after 4 seconds, the shine through the dead pixels are gone.

Nov 21, 2010I have a samsung vibrant and so does my aunt. I barely noticed that both of hours have a very small light leakage on top of the home button. Is this a wide spread problem. It has to be very dark and you have to look closely and tilth phone upward. It doesn't bug me but i just wanted to share with you guys.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Roaming R Indicator On?
Nov 12, 2010Got a UK purchased unlocked Galaxy S, which I'm using in mainland China on China Mobile with a China Mobile SIM. On the screen the roaming R indicator is on, by the signal strength. And going into the about the phone options does indeed indicate that it is roaming internationally, when in fact it's not, because of the China Mobile SIM working on that network. When I was using the phone in Hong Kong, I was using a 3 Hong Kong SIM and the Galaxy didn't indicate it was roaming at all. It did however show the R roaming indicator when I entered mainland China, Where the 3 HK SIM was working on the mainland Chinese networks, both China Mobile and China Unicom. It should not be showing roaming R though when it's using a China Mobile SIM on it's own network though, but it is. I've also tried the SIM in another phone, and this does not show it's roaming at all. Only when the SIM is in the Galaxy? The phone does dire warnings about incurring large data bills for data roaming, when it's not in fact data roaming.

Nov 7, 2010I downloaded a kernal on ryans lag fix and then it made my phone get stuck on the VIBRANT SAMSUNG screen so i tried to fix it by using odin, but all it did was make it go to the Galaxy s sign now, any suggestions on how i can fix this? Sep 3, 2013LED indicator not showing up on your Note 2? Even after doing the *#0*# test only to find out your LED is in fact working, just not showing notifications? Then perhaps you may have Blocking Mode enabled. Now, I never marked this box and only assume that it came on either after a re-boot or updates, but I re-booted and saw it still in my notification bar, clicked on it and saw LED Indicator was set to off. I marked the box (or just disable blocking if that's your choice), and that solved my problem. I knew LED was fine because my phone is new and the light was showing up when I was re-booting, just not staying on. Now if it is not listed in your Notifications because it's not turned fully off and maybe only 1 setting is marked, it can be found in: Settings, Devices; underneath Home Screen Mode.

Aug 15, 2010The galaxy s phones were made for high end games. I want to find and try all the high end games for android, so please post which games you found...Here are the high end games I've tried and what I think about them:
Asphalt HD from Gameloft. I really love this racing game. Its on par with racing games made for the psp. I hope they release an expansion pack with more cars/tracks/events. N.O.V.A from Gameloft. A pretty good fps. It kinda reminds me of halo. I wish there was more weapons and enemies/bosses. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Dungeon Hunter from Gameloft. A standard rpg. Im playing this right now. my thoughts so far is that its a pretty good rpg for a phone but pales in comparison to handheld console rpgs. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Hero of Sparta from gameloft. its a hack n slash game. this is the only game from the gameloft hd series that I didnt like so far. I havent tried the other 5 HD games from gameloft but I plan on doing so.
I really want to try all the high end games for android so please any games you have found

Samsung Galaxy S :: Make Indicator For Messages When Screen Off?
Aug 6, 2010Does anyone know if there is a way to make Galaxy S light up the menu, back button or the screen periodically to notify the presence of an unread message when the screen is off/locked?
I know it lights up and makes a sound when a new message comes, but afterwards there is no way to find out without pressing the middle button or the side unlock button.
I am so used to having a blinking LED message indicator in my previous nokia, I think it�s a really nice feature, because you can know just by looking at the phone without even touching it, very handy at night or when your phone is out of reach. I�m really going to miss that feature.

Jul 14, 2010I'm considering getting the Galaxy S, but the only drawback I can see right now if the absence of a flash for the camera. I know flashes on camera phones aren't all that great, but they do help in many situations. I read in a couple places that this phone has a night mode negating the need for the flash. So far I have not been able to find any sample photos taken in low light conditions, say a portrait of friends in a dark restaurant, or at a party. Can those of you who have the phone post some sample shots in these conditions?

Sep 24, 2010What's the status on this issue? Many of the Samsung Galaxy S phones come with a beautiful array of soft keys with LEDs that are dieing to be used as notification lights as well. For example, the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant has 4 soft keys (menu, home, back, search). I would like to be able to set the menu key to light up at an interval of 3 seconds within the first hour of receiving a text message and light up at an interval of 5 seconds or more after the first hour of receiving a text message. Has Samsung released the necessary API? Or does Google have control over this?

Jan 23, 2014I am able to pull up my list of contacts, but when I click on a contact I get the message "Unfortunately, contacts have stopped working" and it send me to the home screen. I have a Samsung Galaxy Light running Jelly Bean 4.2.2. The phone worked fine for awhile, then started giving me the error messages. If I do a factory reset, the problem is fixed for a few days, but then the contacts problem persists again. I have tried all of the following:
1. Clearing the contacts cache
2. Enabling contacts storage - it already was running and there is no place to "Disable" or "enable" that I can see.
3. Factory reset - works for a few days and then the problem reoccurs
4. Change Date settings to a different format
5. Change time settings to a 24 hr format
Nothing has worked so far.
