Anyone knows how I can get rid of Telenav's GPS Navigation app? I can't find a Telenav.apk file or anything similar. The closest I could find is tn55-android-blur.apk, although everytime I tried deleting this one, it keeps coming back. So, (a) how can I uninstall Telenav's GPS Navigation app? and (b) what is tn55-android-blur.apk?

However when I put a new shortcut on the home screen I get the option of the navigation. But no matter how many times I try, it can't seem to find a route. And I can't find Google Maps on the Market so I can't try upgrading it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know when the 'fix' is coming for our Navigation? I used the "Fix" found out on the internet, and it worked for about half an hour...unfortunately, that left me lost in Arlington VA., and I stood up a date!
I still have 2.1, and every time I check for updates to the firmware through the settings menu on the phone, I just get a message that says "No Firmware".
IS Samsung going to update these things to 2.2? ARE they ever going to fix this useless navigation?
If I get a car cradle is it usable as a sat nav? Using Google maps? I've heard that the GPS is not that great?
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm using the navigation feature in my galaxy s the screen will turn itself off after some time. The time it takes for the back light to turn off vary each time. The time out setting goes from like 10 seconds to 30 mins, there us no option for never. Is there a way to keep it on? Its very frustrating on long journeys when the screen keeps going off.

For receiving and making calls it worked fine with the audio coming out through the car's speakers. But if I play music or my navigation the audio is coming out through the phones speaker (the one on the back) rather than through the cars speakers. I don't know what setting I've got wrong.

I have read loads of posts and tried changing various settings but am pinning my hopes on Froyo fixing it or else i will seriously be looking at returning phone as not fit for purpose. I am sorry but i feel that having paid ?380 for something advertised as having GPS, maps, navigation etc that i should be able to have this in a usable fashion. I dont want to be told its a phone, sat nav is a bonus. It was advertised and sold as having sat nav and this should be workable. OK sorry rant over, just trying to head off some of the comments i am sure will be posted, anyway back to the problem.
when i start maps or navigation it shows a small radar looking icon in top left hand corner, indicating it is looking for satellites, yet at other times this does not appear and it shows "Searching for GPS" at bottom of screen. The manual states this icon means GPS activated. When it is not showing does this mean that the GPS has not turned on despite maps or Navigation being chosen. I can drive about for an hour with this message showing but navigation not starting. The strange thing is if i have map on the screen it will show my location moving yet still say searching for GPS, if thats the case then how can it update maps, how does it know where i am. I an really annoyed at the lack of this function (can you tell). Thanks for any insight into this.
On my Samsung Galaxy S3, a peculiar icon has appeared in the navigation bar (see the top-left corner in the image below):
It seemed to have appeared at about the time I put in my SD card, but removing my SD card (and restarting) has not shooed the icon away. Furthermore, the icon seems to prevent any other icons being shown (i.e. I am forced to pull down the bar when checking for new notifications).
There is no explanation for the icon in the notification window, and clearing the notifications does nothing.
I tried using Google Goggles on a cropped screenshot of the icon but no images were returned. what the icon represents and how it may be removed?
Anyone here tried Telenav now that it is available for the G1?

Can anyone confirm if Google Navigation can be used to just show your progress/location on a road while driving, without having to have an actual destination input?I know this was shown on a few of Rob's videos as not being possible, but just wanted to confirm if anyone had any further info on it.

I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted.How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number?In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown.When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. View 19 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
Has anyone else noticed their sprint navigation messing up?Sometimes its slow, and when it isn't slow it recalculates and tells me i'm on a different road than i am.Sometimes it will just go back but sometimes i have to manually hit recalculate route.Someone else stated that they had this problem with their instinct also.My google maps location cannot be found either though it just keeps saying unavaliable and when i used the progra Where, i selected find me by gps and that doesn't work either.I hope this can be fixed or this would be a dealbreaker for me, i use gps ALOT.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am planning changing my phone from Moto Q9c to Moment. I am using Sprint SERO plan, and everything looks good except navigation. Moto Q9c uses Window Mobile 6, so there are pretty many good apps for navigation. But, my question is should I use Sprint navigation apps? I have used 2 or 3 free nav apps on my Q9c. But, it seems like everyone is using Sprint nav on Moment. The problem is Sprint Nav is not free for me. I should pay for it because I am using SERO plan, and SERO plan does not include Sprint Nav plan. It costs me $10 per month!!! $100 can buy a good nav from Garmin or TomTom. I searched this forum, and there is one more nav app: Google map. But, it looks having some problems on it. Is it fixed? or it is still like that? I should use a navigation app, and have to choose Paying Sprint app or Buying a Garmin GPS if there is no good nav app on Moment. but I want to save money, so I ask your experience about google map or other nav apps. Is it useful after upgrade to 2.0 OS? Any suggestions or tips are appreciated. I don't want to pay $10 for Sprint Nav.

My aunt bought one and I was trying to tell her about it and she said the man at the store said you had to pay $10 a month for GPS on the phone and I told her that was BS unless they specifically blocked it from being installed.
She lives in another city so I won't be able to play with the phone for a while. She looked and said she didn't think she saw the navigation icon.
when I first got it I noticed that I had home screens on both the left and right of the center screen now it seems my "home" screen can only be on the right. So if I hit the home button it scrolls all the way to the right screen. btw I was an avid iphone supporter but have converted so I'm also a noob to the Android scene but so far I regret making this decision so late in the game!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just switched from the Palm pre to the samsung moment and love it so far. One thing i dont like though is the navigation, even though they are both sprint navi. the moment is so much slower at getting an adress and routing you to that adress. It wouldnt be that big of a deal for me but like i stated in a different post i am a police officer and came to a new district and am getting to know the area so when a priority job comes out it takes me a while to input the adress and get routed there as with the pre it was pretty much instantanious. I really dont want to go out and buy a stand alone navigation so can any of you guys help me. Are there any better apps or upgrades for the navigation?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got back from my local VZW store. No line. I immediately downloaded Google Maps. It installed and ran fine.
Turned on Google Navigation and navigated home. GPS locked quickly, seemed accurate (within reason, maybe 25-50 feet) and gave perfect spoken turn-by turn directions. Woo hoo.
I am gonna download some things and play for a while, but my # 1 concern looks to be appeased right now.
