View 4 RepliesOkay, I've done lots of searching and can't find a way to disable voice search. I know, I know, everyone else in the world seems to want it. But I don't use it, have no reason to use it, and it takes up memory. I've been to the (lack of) settings and can't find anything.I am rooted, but not familiar enough with it to know how to remove the application manually.Using a task killer works for a few minutes, but it takes less than 5 minutes to return on its own.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor anyone getting "server problem" when attempting a voice search with 2.1, it appears to be a issue with random existing gmail accounts. This feature never worked for me with the 2.1 beta. When I flashed the release, I tried every one of my 6 existing gmail accounts with no love, then I created a new account on the phone and wahlaa voice search works. Now all I have to do is export my contacts and calender to the new account and contact beyondpods author to get a new key.

Im using DE03 Noobl's 1.2.3 Rom along with the Stock template DE03 and ADW Launcher. I think it may be the stock template causing this?
Yesterday I updated to the android 2.1 & rooted my phone. I have voice caller ID, & speak message service (reads out SMS messages)...& yesterday & even a few hours ago, they were working just fine... I even tried out the new voice search stuff (microphone icon) & it was fine. Well bout an hour or so ago, my phone rang & it no longer said who was calling, nor will it read out my texts...& when I click on the microphone icon, a screen pops up that says "Audio Problems" try again or cancel. What could have happened that suddenly made these stop working? If I have to reset my phone again, will I have to re-update the androiod 2.1 & root my phone again? Can someone help me out please? I would really appreciate your guys help.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I use Bing voice search, I always get the following message "due to a temporary connection or service issue, we can't get results. Please try again later." This has been an issue over the last 10 days or so. Anyone else have this problem? I brought it to Verizon tech and they couldn't figure it out. Google voice search works fine. I speak loudly and clearly in a quiet environment, using different search terms.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI didn't use Voice Search before, but now I'd like to use it to look up definitions of words while I'm reading. How do I install it? I can't see it on the market and I haven't been able to find an .apk that would work. I'm on IL3. If you're on the same firmware, please elaborate how you got VS to work.
View 12 Replies View RelatedPurchased my Galaxy in Italy in September. Upon returning to Australia, I found Voice Search on Android Market and downloaded it. I was very impressed with it.Since then I have upgraded my firmware to IH7 via NPS. Voice Search disappeared and is no longer available on the Market. I found a thread with links to a voice search & voice dialer apks, however have had no luck once installed, as they display errors when run.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to Android 4.0.4 on my samsung galaxy s2. I used the ressurection remix rom 1.9
I have noticed that although holding down the menu button will go to google search from the main screen, it no longer works in certain apps that used to work before the upgrade. In fact it doesnt seem to work in any apps.
This might seem a little strange but I'm trying to find the answer to a question for a customer ( I work for a network )
Galaxy -s, able to navigate using Google maps, but does not get voice commands for the turn by turn navigation.
I've checked the really simply stuff (is it on mute, navigation volume on max).
When I first got my android phone I had to download a voice app from the market place but I can't now find this on my phone to advice the guy.
Can anyone help me and therefore my customer ?
Hoping you might take pity on a call center working trying to do his best for a customer.
Does anyone know if its possible to change the voice on the navigation? Not too fond of the robotic women voice.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo was playing with new galaxy s last night and the Samsung keyboard is really awsome. It has the smaller keys like the iPhone which seems to make it more accurate and it has multi touch. Has anyone heard of a port of this keyboard? I haven't seem anything on this and I'm supprised because it is a great keyboard.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to add secondary functions onto the keyboard? I hate having to keep changing to the numbers screen just to put in 1 number. It has it on the swype keyboard but to get the spelling correction it has a huge box that comes up over the text entry screen . I want to be able to hold down a key to get a number for the occasional number.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I just got the Samsung Galaxy S4. Whenever I try to use S Voice, it never listens to my commands. If I press the microphone button S-Voice immediately says "I didn't hear that. Please say it again" with literally NO time for me to ever say a single thing. Also, saying "Hi Galaxy" never gets it to pick up on me either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSomehow I apparently changed the setting so that the woman's voice announces my incoming calls and texts from my contacts. I'd like to turn that back off and just have the whistle/ringtone.
I can't find it in the manual or online.
I've got an old i.Tech Virtual Keyboard I'd like to use with my Galaxy S.I downloaded KeyPro from the Market and jumped through the hoops. However, after selecting my VKB as input method for a memo KeyPro crashed when I punched the first key. It subsequently crashed whenever I tried to use the keyboard, change any settings, and even when I tried to uninstall it (which eventually worked, thank God).Does anyone else have any experience with this?Have I been unlucky or is this just a spectacularly shoddy piece of programming?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love using swype: quick and efficient. But in some programs I use (e.g. Tasker / Jotro) the swype keyboard pops up when I click a text field (as it should), but if I'm done, sometimes it shows a "done" button on the swype keyboard itself (and when I click on that, the swype keyboard dissappears), but sometimes, there isn't a done key on the keyboard (only an enter key which gives a new line in the text field I'm editing) and I can't scroll in the program to the save/done button in the program itself to save what I just typed. Does someone know whether there is a quick way to get rid of the Swype keyboard after I finished typing?
My (frustrating workaround) is to go to Swype options, press back, and the swype keyboard is gone.
I just received a replacement for my Galaxy s3 (cracked screen on my first one), and both the old phone and new one are running the same software and both are up to date.
how to get the Samsung keyboard to be the same on both phones. All settings are the same. the new phone's keyboard doesn't have the small punctuation symbols on the letter keys (like the old phone does). I know this may seem like a bit of a ridiculous thing to have an issue with, but I'm kind of... particular... with the way my phone looks and is set up. That, and I find it to be annoying to have to go to the Symbols section of the keyboard to use any form of punctuation.
