Samsung Fascinate :: Google Maps / Nav Audio Gone Over BT
Nov 6, 2010In the last week, I've somehow lost the ability to hear Google Nav turn-by-turn directions over my Bluetooth adapter in the car. (Just last weekend, it worked fine.)Any ideas of how I can get it working again? I've checked all the logical things, like the mute/unmute button and the navigation volume.Verizon Navigator audio is working fine, but I'd like to dump it, if I can get Google running properly.

Oct 28, 2010Does Bing affect Google apps such as Google Voice and Voice Search? How do Google Maps work when it is not de-Binged? I don't know if I'll root, but I do really want to use those apps and for the moment, would just keep Bing at first. I've read posts on how to de-Bing and am wondering if it truly works or if it just hides Bing. If I get a SF, I want to be sure I can access all the Google apps easily with 3 or less clicks. This will be my first Android, so all this stuff is new to me. Bing is what really seems to be dragging the SF down in my book as I think Android should be all about Google. I'm still looking for the deal-breaker between the SF and Dinc. I've researched it to death.

Sep 30, 2010When using Google Maps (not navigation) does it display your route so that you are always going "up", or does it display your route so you are going left?
So if I fire up Google Maps and just want to leave it on while I drive home, but I'm not trying to do any kind of navigation...though I might open the traffic layer, should my route be coming from the bottom of the screen going upwards or should it be going from the right to the left?
I noticed driving home the other night it was tracking me going right to left. It seemed odd.
Samsung Fascinate :: GPS And Google Navigation Working Fine
Sep 9, 2010I just got back from my local VZW store. No line. I immediately downloaded Google Maps. It installed and ran fine.
Turned on Google Navigation and navigated home. GPS locked quickly, seemed accurate (within reason, maybe 25-50 feet) and gave perfect spoken turn-by turn directions. Woo hoo.
I am gonna download some things and play for a while, but my # 1 concern looks to be appeased right now.

All my google applications like Gmail, Maps, Play,Google Plus are working fine in WIFI.But when i try to refresh or update these application thro Airtel 3g,i am getting No Connection Error.
All my 3rd party apps like Facebook,Whatsapp are working fine in 3G.

Jan 18, 2010After working well for the first month or so, it looks like GPS is not working very well for me. I'm not sure what changed. I now, when using the locate feature in Google Maps, often find myself in the middle of the Pacific off the Social shore. I usually try to remain on land when possible, though. Or it my randomly 'telephonist' me a few hundred yards off in some direction, then I'm back withing seconds. But a lot of the time it's not able to really locate me well at all. I think the network locating is doing 'k', but GPS is failing pretty bad lately. The icon shows GPS working, and I try disabling and re-enabling it. But that doesn't help. Anyone else having issues with GPS accuracy? Any apps that can help 'fine-tune' the GPS?

It always says "Package is not signed properly" then when I just try and open google maps on my phone since its already prelaoded it force closes. Please help!

Oct 19, 2010I am using google apps email for several of my websites. the settings are the same as gmail. I am using IMAP.
I setup my @gmail account and one of my @myprivatedomain.com emails in the gmail app and regular email app on my phone. I like using the gmail app as my email app since it auto syncs and you dont have to open and wait for sync like you do w/ the regular email app.Now I can't setup my @myprivatedomain.com emails in the gmail app. I don't understand on the Adroid phones why email setup is so hard. I had one hell of a time on the X and Inc setting up email. Very buggy and intermittent does anyone know what "your phone may not be provisioned for data services" means?

May 22, 2010I live in Sweden and the application is on my phone, but does not work. That is odd because it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to do, especially if Google Maps already gives turn-by-turn directions. I'm guessing it might have to do with the language or pronunciation of the streets. I don't mind using it in English, though.

May 24, 2010So as the handle suggests I need step by step directions to do anything involving a computer. I took a jump by rooting my eris, and now I have a problem and don't know how to fix it! which is frustrating, but it is exactly the reason why I rooted in the first place! To have a reason to learn this stuff! So here I am reaching for help. The problem with my phone is that when I open google maps and type two or three characters on it it force closes on me. 50% of the reason to get this phone was for google maps. It could replace a gps with longer battery life than 4 hours which means I can leave the house and ride all day without having to plug it in. Any way I have tried turning off the phone, turning it back on, and clearing the settings on the application then turning it off again. still I get a force close message. It is using 2.1, but I am not sure which version it is using. would updating to a newer rom like 2.1 v3 help? if so how would I go about it?

If I use Gps Status app, it shows a compass and shows how fast I'm moving in what ever direction, but for some reason google maps can't seem to lock on. When I hit send, I see the 3g icon pop up but it never turns colors like data is actually being transfered then it goes away. When I look at the message details, it says status pending and it never sends. If I turn off wifi, it sends fine.

Samsung Fascinate :: Lock / Power Button Not Working
Nov 21, 2010After being a dedicated bb user, I recently switched to a droid. I'm completely satisfied, however, I have had a small issue with my lock/power button. I've only had the phone for two weeks, but my power/lock button seems to be "stuck". I can still push it, but it's not as "click able" as when I first purchased it. I wish I could explain it better. I actually went to verizon a few days ago, and they weren't much help. The tech actually sprayed some of that air in a can stuff, which temporarily made it better. However, it now seems stuck again. Has anyone had this problem? Sorry for being such a new b!

I turn it on and it says that its been granted superuser permissions but then no data moves up or down(or it'll say .4 down and .2 up) and no devices find it! If I just go to contacts and not select any particular contact and hit the ACTIVITIES tab then it works fine there and loads all recent posts by any of my Facebook friends. I want it to work on each individual contact as it's supposed to.

Oct 6, 2010When I'm using the navigation feature in my galaxy s the screen will turn itself off after some time. The time it takes for the back light to turn off vary each time. The time out setting goes from like 10 seconds to 30 mins, there us no option for never. Is there a way to keep it on? Its very frustrating on long journeys when the screen keeps going off.

Sep 3, 2010i took the captivate on the road and used it as navigation. it worked great for the first 3 hours of the trip, reception or not. i was amazed until i received a notice that my phone internal app memory is low and i need to uninstall my apps. theres no way my memory should be full because i've checked it every few days and i've had 1.6 gb free. all of a sudden i've got 126mb. i'm guessing that Google maps had downloaded the maps in advanced and had just filled up the internal memory. unfortunately i have no clue how to clear the maps. until i can figure this out i cant receive emails, or texts or any messages because the memory is full. does someone know how to clear the old maps from the navigation app? i'm on the road so i havent been able to look at it extensively. i will research it more when i get a chance and post anything i find.
