Hey I have recently upgraded from a hero to the Samsung Epic I would like to put some movies like I had on my old Ipod touch. I have no idea where to put movies at on the SD card or where to access them on my phone and any idea at all what format it needs to be in.

i was wondering how i can transfer videos i have on to the epic and i how i would do so! if anyone can help i wouldn't like to download any programs i know i can convert somethings online but i wanna figure out to put music videos and movies on my epic.

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy friend's Epic/PC will not pick up his micro SD card. I told him to try what it said in the manual to reformat it, but the problem is that the phone will not even read the card in the first place. Do you think the card has died already?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from a Samsung Exclaim to a Epic via Sprint (Obviously, lol) I put the sd card from the old phone into the new one and put the pics onto my desktop. They're in a format called jpg.md I can't put them on the new phone. I've googled, and contacted Samsung, neither of which has helped. Any suggestions?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been mounting my phone with my pc for quite awhile, then one day, it decided to be difficult. At first it took a couple, replugs to get it to recognize the SD card. Then, It stopped recognizing it at all. Depending on what USB port I use, I get different results from I/O error, to device not recognized.
Things I have tried:
-Every driver known to mankind.
-Plugging in every single usb port on the computer (including mobo)
-Disconnecting every usb device except for the phone
-Formatting the SD card (lost my photos forgot they were on there)
-Only used STOCK cable.
I'm out of ideas, and sprint claims this is not a problem with the phone on all the forum posts I've seen with similar problems. Has anyone actually found a solution for this other than thinking plugging it in the back of the computer actually fixes anything?
Is it possible to save the apps on a SD card and run it from there? Is the process called rooting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just pulled my phone from my pocket and it was frozen so I pulled battery and restarted it. The SD card format was unrecognized. I stuck it in a card reader and it wouldn't show up on my pc. I stuck a different card in my phone and it is fine. I called Sprint and the card is not covered by warranty. The warranties are device specific and Samsung does not feel that they need to cover them. I was lucky that the Sprint store did replace my card with a Sandisk card. I have numerous Microsd cards. They all came with a lifetime warranty. Samsung fails on this note. I still love this phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI finally got around transferring my 32Gig card out of my Evo and into the Epic. After I put it in I decided to clean it and reformat it in the Epic. Epic starts the format then comes up with a message "card damaged cant format". I put the same card in the Evo and it formatted just fine and then worked in the Epic. Then I tried to format it again in the Epic and again I get the card damaged pop up. Again it reformatted just fine in the Evo. Any ideas anyone else get this message? Just to add I tried to format a smaller card in the Epic and it was able to format that fine. Once the 32gig card is formatted in the Evo it will work fine in the Epic.

View 3 Replies View Relatedwell I know I took pictures and I can see them using the USB cable but when I open the gallery it tells me there is nothing there.I also get a message about no SD card detected even though its there and I can see it just fine if I go into the SD card menu in the settings menu and also if it is plugged into a computer also there are pictures that I took today that arent even showing up when I plug it into the computer.I cant even read my SD card if I take it out and put it into that adapter it came with but plugging the phone into USB I can read the SD card thats in there - or I can see some pictures that I have taken
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've tried both the manual method as well as the Easy, one-click, auto root out there, but I can't get root to take on this device. I think I'm probably overlooking something simple. What I need to know is. Well, everything from start to finish. When I connect to my PC, I have enabled USB debugging. Should I allow the SD card to mount or keep is in "charging" mode? I have experience with the manual methods where you access ADB Shell and copy/paste commands. That's how I rooted my Hero. But I think the connection is not right somehow. I'm seeing a lot of failure messages.

It seems like taking the photo via the facebook app does not save the photo to the sd card?

Is anyone else experiencing problems downloading and running apps from the market due to low memory issues? Why did they only put 512MB of internal memory for app storage on this Epic when the AT&T galaxy version got 8GB of internal memory in addition to the 16GB micro Sd card???
My memory is full now, and without android 2.2 I can't move apps to the SD card. They should have provided all of their galaxy class phones with the 8GB internal memory.
Where on the Sd card do I drop movies so that I can watch them ? I've got the USB cable connected to PC and running as a hard drive but I am unsure where abouts I copy my movies over to.

Also if that is possible, what would I use to watch it on the device? Even if there is a way I can pay for the movie and watch it from my phone. The hard drive in my laptop cramped the bed so i have to wait for my new one to get here that is why I am wondering if there is a way to do all of this directly from the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Optimus F3Q (I know, I know) with only 2 GB of internal storage, and 1.5 GB of that is taken up by apps and the operating system (I don't want to spend hours deleting apps one at a time to see how much space frees up, only to find out that it hardly gained me anything), so the remaining space isn't even enough to save one downloaded movie from Google Play. I have a 32 GB SD Card, but Google Play will not save a pinned movie to the SD card, and this thread suggested that it's not possible: Can Google Play Movies Play from an SD Card? I want to be able to save a pinned movie so I can watch it on airplanes or other places where data service doesn't work.
Are there any other apps which allow you to purchase a movie legally and save the downloaded movie to the SD card, preferably without rooting the phone? (I'm worried that rooting the phone will introduce another whole level of unpredictable problems that support won't be able to work with.) Either a method to trick Google Play into saving the file to the SD card (that's not circumvention of copy protection, since I'm not trying to duplicate the file), or, an entirely separate app, from Netflix or Amazon or whoever, that lets you buy movies and save them onto the SD card, where they might expire after some time period.
(It certainly seems silly if they think this restriction prevent "piracy" -- even if it's stored on an SD card, the Google Play player could still refuse to play the file after the expiration date. Of course someone could try to reverse-engineer the Google Play player to circumvent the restrictions, but for that amount of effort, a user could far more easily obtain a pirated copy some other way. So refusing to save files to the SD card gains them exactly nothing in terms of preventing piracy.)

My question is can you load the digital copy movies that come with dvds onto windows media player on your pc then copy onto your sd card? Is it mp4 format or an unsupported file type? Or are the digital copies strictly for itunes and psp?

I got a bigger sd card and I'm wanting to swap all my pics and movies from my old one to the new one. is there a way to do this on my phone or do i have to do it on the computer? when i stick the sd card and adapter in my pc it doesn't recognize theres anything in there.
