I've got the Windows 7 64bit professional and when I plug it into the usb it says "installing device software..." and than "Device not recognized..." I want to put photos and music on my epic!

I can't figure this out. First thing I did was open allshare. I selected "play media from phone on another device." It couldn't find any devices. I then checked out my PS3. I tried going to the remote play settings to register my device. It gives me a number to input during device registration but this is where I get stuck. I don't know where to go from here. Allshare doesn't have an option to "register a device." How to do this: DLNA works with a PS3.

When wifi is connected both that and the 3G connection shows at the top. So which one is in control per se? And how can it be verified?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have read the previous threads, but still having no luck getting my Samsung Epic to show in My Computer. So I decided to post a new thread. After connecting the phone to my PC, I select Mount and turn on USB storage on the phone then windows shows "Found New Hardware" then asks me to install the new hardware. When I install the hardware, new device shows under "Other Devices" in Device Manager with a yellow icon (?) in front of it as if it is still unrecognized device. I am not allowed to install the drivers on my PC since it is a company PC. My coworkers did not have to install drivers to get the EPIC show in My Computer.

I can't seem to register the account information on the X10 but I can access my account through the facebook app itself. I've updated the app from the android market and still doesn't allow me to register my account. I keep getting the message "connection failed".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to connect my laptop to the Epic Hotspot. My laptop is able to find SPH-D70002E (Epic) on my laptop's WiFi available network list. When I click on that, I get a Window's error message: "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refers the list of available networks and try to connect again." The SPH-D70002E (Epic) is full bars strength.

I double checked all setting, disabled anything that could interfere, soft and hard reset the phone, can't figure it out. Sprint is closed till 7. Any ideas from anyone that might still be up?
Question: has anyone here been able to play music via USB connection in their car?
If so, then list your car brand and model. How did you do it? Are the songs all MP3? from Itunes? Are the songs in any particular folder on the microSD card?
Me: 2010 Prius NAVI...the car audio can only read 3 songs out of many (all from Itunes). I do have 2 songs from Amazon MP3, but they are not read either. The same 3 songs over and over again. My phone is in "mass storage" mode.
This has been driving me nuts since I got the phone. It would almost connect to my machine then just bog down and fail. Someone mentioned using a better USB cable and I tried it out of desperation. It WORKS! Apparently the USB cable that ships with the Epic 4G is kinda crappy. I plugged in the brand new cable and it just plain worked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was on Windows Vista x64 and everything worked. upgraded to Windows 7 x64 and now the device is not listed by "adb devices" the windows driver recognizes the usb connection and i can mount it and view files. but when i enable usb debugging on the device - it's not recognized by adb or eclipse. i have sdk usb driver v3 installed.

I've rooted my Eris and have am wanting to use the Wired Tether app. For whatever reason, I cannot get my Windows 7 PC to connect to it. If somebody could walk me through the steps to get it connected, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have searched and come up empty on results. People say it asks to update/install drivers, it needs ndis drivers, etc, but I'm not sure exactly what all that means or even how to do it. For example, to even get to that point, which option do I select on my Eris when I connect it? Sync? Charge only?

The mobile phone appears now in the hardware manager ADB interface. I would now be able to send data through this USB connection to the mobilephone which my app is able to handle. I know some tethering software which does this, therefore there must be a way to communicate with user data and with my app.

If my screen locks while I have a wifi connection, then the connection is lost when I unlock the phone.First, is this perhaps deliberate, to save power? Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. It just states 'Obtaining address.

A phone that I actually have been waiting for ever since the IPhone came out because I knew the technology would be where I wanted it to be for the most part (speed, HD, capacity, upgrade ability/customization. Has anyone figured out how to do this? When I hold my finger on a text and choose forward, I only get the box where I have to type in each contact individually. Is there a way to show a list of my contacts when forwarding or at least a way to forward to a group? I have groups set up, but there doesnt seem to be a way to access them when forwarding. I have tried every option and every menu and cant find out how to do this on the Epic?
