I have tried to disable swype by unchecking it in settings, but it always turns itself back on. Why does it do this, and is there a way to permanently keep it unchecked that I'm not seeing?

Does anyone know how to completely disable the mobile network on the Moment? I need to so I can use it for my Battle.net mobile authenticator while I am using my fiance's new Samsung Reclaim for a month (to get the upgrade price on it) and she has my Hero. Basically, anytime I need data on it, I want to use WiFi but if I leave it on it can and will probably mess up calls on the Hero. My Hero has a nice little check box to disable the mobile network, but the Moment doesn't.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly the sound doesn't work for my text when I type or swype. I've turned on ALL sounds possible. (It still vibrates.) I can hear all the other sound effects and can hear the typing if I switch to Android Keyboard. But I like Swype!

I had a HTC Touch Pro 2 (didn't like WinMo) and I could 'turn off' the 3G connection, and instead 'turn on' WiFi. Is it that Android doesn't offer this option or is there some way to make this happen that I am missing?

I had an evo before i got the epic, and i also had an extended battery (3000) so maybe it's just coming from that to a stock battery, but i still can't help but to wonder if this phone just dies so much more quickly because of some other reason.
My Epic 4G just lost all connection to the internet about an hour ago. Out of the blue, so to speak. I was browsing, set it down, then when I used it again it wouldn't connect. My browser, facebook, and any other connection required apps throw error messages saying - "connection error", "no connection". I've reset the phone several times, and as far as for the network settings, everything looks set the way it always is. I have done nothing to the network settings/options to have accidentally messed it up myself. I am connected via 3G, and this network problem is new to me. This phone has been nothing but constant problems and this is the newest one in a long list.

I'd be using the Hero without a data plan for at least the first few months, therefore I was wondering if it is possible to disable all forms of mobile internet. I still want WiFi, but nothing I will be charged for such as GSM/GPRS etc. I'm sure this will be possible but I want to be sure before I buy. And what's battery life like?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Be.SOCIAL SC020 with Android 4.1.2, which has two SIM slots.
I want to make sure that SIM2 never, ever connects to the Internet, though I do want to use it for calls and SMSs.
Under Settings, I can't find any setting for enabling/disabling data completely per-sim. (There is an option for enabling/disabling data *roaming* per sim). There _is_ a setting under Data Usage for putting a limit for data consumption: there you can set a warning threshold and a limit. However, while the warning can be set to 0MB, the lowest value you can set for the limit is 1MB (I know, so stupid...).
Up to now, I haven't detected any data usage on sim2, but my fear is that at any moment when the data network for sim1 may become temporarily unavailable for any reason, sim2 may be used for data. Even if I have set the 1MB limit, sim2's operator will charge me a fixed amount per week if I use non-zero data.
So how do I disable data completely for sim2 while keeping data enabled for sim1 and keeping sim2 enabled for voice and sms?
How to completely disable navbar when in full screen and use power button as "Back" and long press power means screen off. I want to save some precious screen space and avoid accidentally press navbar when playing games.
Is there a way to do it? I'm on CM10 - FXP - Ion lt28h
I just recently replaced my Samsung epic =( with a new droid2 =). Both have Swype and I love it. But on the epic the Swype keyboard had a darker color palette that I liked much better. I couldn't find anyway to change this on my droids Sywpe settings, is it even possible? Change the look of the Swype keyboard?
View 6 Replies View RelatedUnder the WiFi settings "Network Notification - Notify me when a network is available". If checked, I know that it will continuously check for open networks when out. Personally, I forget to turn my WiFi off immediately most of the time when I leave the house and may remember later. If this is unchecked, does it help save battery life by keeping the phone from searching for networks?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my desire for a couple of weeks now and loving it, just one point thats frustrating the hell out of me is why when sending a text message using the "phone" style keypad you can't disable the XT9 setting, I've turned it off in settings etc., and it will still default back to XT9 when you navigate away to add a smiley etc. Maybe I am missing something obvious! but I detest predictive texting - prefer to type my own letters. Any app that will sort this?

I untapped the data option in mount2sd so it would be placed in the internal memory.After that I rebooted my phone. It's still stuck on the HTC splash screen for more than 5 minutes now.What should I do?

Is it possible to disable usb charging using phone settings?
I am an android developer . In my application , I am trying to disable the "Settings" key of android soft keyboard . I tried a lot but I didn't get a proper solution .
Even I tried with KeyEvents. It gives only the event of "Enter" key.
Any proper solution which should handle/disable the "Settings" key.
I enabled APN in the settings. But, I want to be able to enable/disable my APN so I can be sure that I'm not getting charged for using the Internet when I'm not. On the top of my screen I see an E with 2 arrows, one pointing up and one pointing down, when I turn my WiFi on this disappears and is replaced by a WiFi icon, and I don't get charged for browsing. But I want to be able to turn APN on and off, I can't uncheck the option for APN which I chose, and the application I downloaded does not work. The icon remains there when I'm not connected to a router even if APN is disabled.

A phone that I actually have been waiting for ever since the IPhone came out because I knew the technology would be where I wanted it to be for the most part (speed, HD, capacity, upgrade ability/customization. I'm more getting more camera time in than making Epic 4G porn, but it is fun!
