I just got this Sprint Epic phone and its great. But I can't get my web mail (provided by Squirrel mail) on my phone. Not sure why...it worked fine on my Samsung Moment.

1) Is there a way to setup a password to open the phone (when you turn phone on)? If my phone gets lost or stolen, I'd like to have it password protected so they cannot get into my phone.
If not, maybe there's an app for this that someone can suggest?
2) How do I turn off Google Mail? When I am home, I don't need my phone to also be running in the background checking my email - as I can check my email from my laptop.
Tried plugging in the ear buds and no sound coming out while using phone or listening to Youtube. Also can't find any settings that need to be turned on for headphones, so what gives? I know others are using them, so how'd you get them to work?

It's the feature from Sprint/Nextel that lets you select a contact, record a brief audio message and have it sent automatically to the contact's email/phone as soon as you finish recording. It would be neet if it exists. Sprint charges $7.95 for basic and $19.99 for pro a month for a service that I believe an adroid app can do (and possible better).

Is there a way to seperate the signature lines for each email account? I tried deleting it from my home account and it will delete it from both. there seems to be no separation.

No one in my family can get Qik to work anymore. It worked fine on Tuesday, but now it keeps saying "establishing connection". After awhile it just goes to the call log scree.

I am on my third epic and still having the same problem. My notification light worked fine when the phone was first activated and slowly stopped working altogether. I also bought my girlfriend one and the same thing happened to hers. That's four phones in three weeks. I can't be the only one that is having this issue. Anyone else? My setting for the light to pulse is checked. I have also done a factory reset.

Given that this is the main screen and not one of the capacitive buttons, I find this behavior very strange.
I can't for the life of me get auto correct to work on my epic. I have it the auto correct checked in every setting imaginable and it still won't work. Does anyone else have this issue or a solution?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOK so if you use POP3 on several computers to get gmail, you may be familiar with this. Basically it makes it so every client gets your email. Anyhow heres my problem, freakin PoS default android email will not recognize it as a correct username. Is anyone familiar with this? Know a better email client than the default (and don't suggest K-9 please, I'm currently using it and hate it). I wish someone would get the HTC mail app to work on vanilla.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then the End Call button will refuse to work (it doesn't even get highlighted when pressed), usually for up to 5 seconds. As you can imagine this can make ending a conversation considerably awkward. Any ideas as to what would be causing this? I first thought it could be the proximity sensor/screen lock, but the screen would have to turn off when this is in effect, which it doesn't. I can see the screen perfectly, I just can't interact with the End Call button. Is there any other way to end calls?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a GT-I7500 and am coming from an HTC Sapphire. I was able to root the I7500 after following instructions scattered all around the net and am running on 1.6.
There is an application I use called "work mail" which comes on the HTC Roms which is basically an exchange server application allowing me to check and send email on an exchange server.
I tried to installed the mail.apk from the sapphire roms I use and after enabling non-market applications to be installed, I tried to run the installer but it would fail saying "Work Email could not be installed on this phone".
Anyone know of any way to integrate the "work mail" application into a ROM? Or of any way to get this installed on the i7500?

It randomly selects email, last time it was 1, this time 3. First poll, they disappear out of the inbox, next poll they show up as unread even though they're 2 weeks old. Leaving them as unread doesn't help, they still disappear, and come back as unread, but for some reason not on every poll. Tried to make friends with google, but all I find is other forum complaints that are similar but not exact, with no solutions. And Issue 719: Inbox shows old email. Anybody else going through this? It seems as though they're doing nothing to fix it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI didn't worry about it till today. but i was useing my phone while it was charging. but it got pretty hot today. enough for me to go download a app to see the temp of the battery. it said like 108? and right before i took at battery 118? idk if its right but it was pretty hot. and i am sure its not good if its getting that hot. i was listening music through blue-tooth, on the internet with wifi and thats it really. i put it in the fridge for 5 mins hope that wont hurt it but i need help and what should i do to stop this? please let me know. im using the charger that came with it. it was got warm when i charge before but i dont think this much.
