Samsung EPIC 4G : Dead Pixels - Are One To Two Tiny Black Specks That Can Be Seen On Light Background Screen Colors
Sep 1, 2010I bought 2 Epics last night was so excited! I like the phone except for a couple of things that i have noticed one of them being the wobble oreo effect that I seem to have on both phones and I just noticed I have dead pixels on both phones! I am so disappointed and don't know what to do? The pixels are one to two tiny black specks that can be seen on light background screen colors.

Sep 7, 2010When in the camera and you hit the play button to review pictures, all pictures on the phone come up instead of just the ones i've taken with my camera. Is there a setting to change for this? Do i need to move my photos to a specific folder to avoid this? Right now i have all my pictures in the "media" folder. The camera pictures are in the DCIM folder. So how can this be changed?

Feb 24, 2014I don't know what's wrong with my phone, but the screen display is messed up. Sometimes, the screen will display if I keep clicking the power button one-hundred times, but other than that it won't budge. Everything thing else works when I press the power button, the keyboard lights up, the home button and other buttons light, just not the screen. Like I said, I have to repeatedly press the power button so that in a slight chance, the screen might display.

Aug 10, 2010we all know that sprint has had a page about the Samsung Epic, with the full spec sheet, but there was no sprint news release about the phone which means they were still not about to go all out advertising the phone. As of aug. 9th however, they have updated their news page to have the Epic be publicly displayed in their newsroom. Nothing in the link we already don't know (specs wise), but this does mean that they are beginning to make actual advertisements for the phone which only means the release date is drawing nearer.

Apr 3, 2014I have a Star Note N9770 which had a smashed display - daughter knelt on it. The phone still appeared to work, though we couldn't see anything. I bought a "bricked" N9770 on eBay and used the display unit from that (it really was bricked - wouldn't turn on or charge) to replace the smashed unit.
We now have a display and everything appears to work and it charges. Except for the colours on the display - they are very pale/faint/washed out (hard to describe but the full range of colours doesn't appear in the display - just mostly greens and pinks and all a bit grainy). I've tried the brightness and contrast levels, factory reset, hard reset, etc, but it makes no difference.
I'm guessing that this display unit is slightly different from the original, even though all the connections were identical and tbh, it reminds me of a driver issue in a PC.
Samsung Captivate :: Access Forbidden For All Webpages - AT&T 3G Network
Oct 25, 2010So I got my Captivate this weekend, and have been using it on my WiFi at the apartment and everything is working fine. But today I went to work, and now any webpage I try to access just shows up as a blank white page with the words "Access Forbidden". Other apps work just fine, I just can't visit any webpages. I'm definitely connected to 3G, with a strong signal strength. I read in one thread that clearing APN proxy settings solved this problem for them, but I can't find any way to edit the APN settings on my phone (can only view them). I read another thread that this happens to people who switch over from an IPhone; only problem is, I've never owned an IPhone. I'm contemplating giving AT&T customer support a call, but wanted to check here first to see if anyone else is having this problem/has a fix. Here are my APN settings in case this clears anything up:

Port: 80
Username: Not Set
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set

These are the default phone settings and it won't let me change any of them, although it will let me create a new APN and edit the settings of that. It seems odd that the default APN is Cingular...that is the service I had years ago, but it merged with AT&T a while back.

Jul 18, 2010When I try to load certain webpages my browser will crash as soon as it loads 100%. An example gizmodo.com, it only happens with the full version of the site not the mobile version. It appears to be javascript related, because when I disable javascript the page will load without crashing. This happens both in the standard browser and in DolphinHD. Also, sometimes before crashing DolphinHD will show a page saying: "The Web page at file:///android_asset/webkit could not be loaded as: The requested file was not found. webkit/"

Jan 2, 2013My work is setting up a secure webpage and we are expected to be able to access it 24/7 to log alerts received when there are server errors at work. To access this secure webpage we were given two certificates, one for windows (home use) and one for mobile ( a .p12 file which I've read is compatible). I cannot access the webpage via Android browser or chrome browser (or any other 3rd party browser). I've imported the certificate using the import feature in Settings->Security and it showed a brief notification that the import was successful. However, the certificate isn't listed in the "User" section of the trusted credentials list. Now, I would suspect that the certificate wasn't made correctly, but the same exact one works on a co-workers iPhone (pains me to say that). I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, rooted, but otherwise stock.
