Sep 13, 2010I'm already obsessing over when we'll see the first custom roms for the Epic. I know we're also waiting on a custom recovery. Being as there are about a billion android websites and people are all over the place...has anyone heard any news as to when we can hope/expect a custom recovery or custom rom for the Epic?

Mar 16, 2010Is there an application (or one in the works) that will allow us to apply a sound effect to the slider opening and closing? Maybe base it off of when the screen rotates + keyboard lights up? I would love to apply 2 seperate notifications. One for open and one for close. Anyone got an application like this in the works or know of one that would work on Samsung Moment? I know there is a notification for when you unplug the power, but I'd love to have 2 seperate from that for JUST the slider. I can't believe we can't modify seperate notification sounds custom without apps.

Sep 1, 2010I am running the OTA version of Froyo on my non-rooted Desire and I am finding that the HTC Sense UI seems to force close about once a week. The main culprit seems to be the HTC News widget as it most often seems to occur whilst I am reading my news each morning.Anyone else experienced this or know the solution?

Jun 21, 2010My HTC Sense is force closing every 5 minutes or so. I have battery pulled, uninstalled software, etc. I am about to do a factory reset but is there any software that is known to cause this problem (so I can avoid it on the second go around)?
Note: It appears to happen when i go to 'change the scene' to something else. When the screen reloads it just goes into an endless cycle of 'HTC Sense Force Close'.

May 5, 2010It isn't easy to summarize the problem in the title.So in 1.5 or 2.1 v1 or v2, it was very rare for the Sense UI Home app to have to re-launch.By this I mean when you click the home or back button to return to your Home screen, instead of seeing the home screen you see the black screen with HTC on it, then you wait while it loads the Home application.This very rarley happened before v1.3. Now it seems to happen at least once or twice a day.I don't have more apps installed than I did before, I shouldn't be any more out of memery than I was before.

Jun 19, 2010Not sure what I after I rooted my phone but HTC Sense keeps either reloading itself everytime almost everytime i hit the home button from an App (a popup box will come up saying reloading, and my home screen is blank, then stuff appears slowly)OR In the middle of whatever app, i'll get an "HTC sense com.application bla bla force close wait ".Anyone know what I could of done to screw this up?

Aug 3, 2010I did the offical Froyo update on my phone this afternoon. It was stock with the latest OTA update 1.47. Followed the directions for the update and it went by smoothly until after I tried setting up my phone (Google account). I did a hard reset and everything was fine until a few minutes ago. I was able to sign into my Google, Facebook and Aim accounts. It is now back to an endless loop of trying to load Sense and force closing. Of course I can do another hard rest but is it too early to assume the force close loop problem will return? My phone is not functioning and I cannot even go into the setting to turn of Sense.

Sep 29, 2010Just did the OTA froyo update from O2 last night. All appeared to go well and successful, past the point where I heard other people's got stuck.But when I slide down the slider and put in my password, it gets stuck in a force close loop for com.htc.launcher. Seems to not be able to open sense and keeps looping round.I saw a post from someone saying they had that problem, but then they just hit the search button and got the quicksearch, went to settings, then cleared the data for the appropriate application and then it worked fine.But when I hit the search button, nothing happens. If I hold it down, I get the google voice search, but I can't seem to get to settings from there.Does anyone know another method to get into settings as I'm hopeful this will fix my problem as suggested by some others. I'd much rather that than take it back to O2.

Oct 13, 2010I have a toolbar view set for most of my activities.
The toolbar has several buttons which all trigger certain intents. Now, the problem is: how can I close current activity before starting another one ?
Problem 1) Activity cones For instance one of the buttons ('A') starts activity A. Activity A also has toolbar. If you press on the 'A' button, a new A activity will be started. I suppose I can look at Activity.getInstanceCount(), right ?
Problem 2) Unnecessary activities The activity X is not needed any more if the opts for A. I just want A then. How can I remove X from toolbar which only has access to context ?
I, of course could find toolbar view inside activity X and override the onClicks, but in general this would mean doing so for all my activities !? Am I on the right track ?
