Sep 13, 2010I using launcher pro and trying to go with a minimalistic looking setup. I have battstat and digital clock running on my front page and I would like a nice weather widget. I have seen some on other peoples screens but can't seem to find the right one. I tried beautiful Widgets but had too much going on. Basically what I want is a small weather widget that fits in the corner of the screen with a transparent background? Any suggestions?

Sep 9, 2010I long press on my homescreen widget, the resize "handle" appears, I resize the widget, I can do absolutely nothing else. Stuck in resizing hell. Have to re-boot to stop the insane amount of resizing going on.
After re-boot the f'n widget is back to the same undesirable old size.

Jul 22, 2010I am just using the stock calendar app that came with the Captivate. It syncs with google just fine, but the location addresses are not clickable to pull up the map. Very frustrating. I had tried out the EVO for 3 weeks before getting the Captivate, and the stock android calendar would let me pull it up via maps or use navigator which was awesome! Any ideas on what I can do to get the same feature? Maybe I need a different calendar app. Any recommendations?

Sep 29, 2010Since I updated, my youtube widget constantly says "Connection problem. Touch to try again"
When I touch it, either on 3g or wifi, it tries to refresh and comes back with the same message. All of my other data-related things work. It is just this widget. I have tried removing it from the desktop and then placing it there again, and this does nothing to help either. I have rebooted the phone numerous times as well. Again, this didn't help.
Samsung Captivate : YouTube Widget Useless After Update
Sep 28, 2010is anybody else having a problem with their youtube app widget after the "gps fix" update? after the update i noticed it only had the search option (little magnifying glass) and no longer the upload video (little camcorder) button on the widget. after i add the widget and use with the phone for a little bit (sometimes for less than 5 minutes) the widget will change itself back to having the upload button option but at that point the search and upload buttons just highlight orange when i press them and then it does nothing. sometimes im able to click on the video being promoted on the widget and it will open and play but for the most part the widget is un-clickable. im not sure if it has anything to do with me downloading launcher pro but i had that on my last captivate before i exchanged it and currently my phone is all stock haven't rooted it or anything yet.

Sep 28, 2010I am trying to track down a rogue application that seems to be receiving massive amounts of data. On the iPhone, I would use about 200mb/month due to WiFi at work and at home. However, on the Samsung Captivate, I can go from 100MB/month to 2+GB/month! I noticed huge amounts of data being used on my commutes to and from work.
On occasion, my home WiFi/DSL would get so lagged due to my Captivate being on the network that my son would complain and I would then put the phone in air plane mode. I reasoned that if it was happening on my WiFi network, as well as 3G, then perhaps I could using my router to log the activity to see what sites my phone was trying to connect to, then perhaps I could pinpoint the offending application.
My phone was connecting to a website that was part of a posting that was on facebook, which was only showing on the Samsung "Feeds and Updates" widget. I wasn't running the native facebook application at the time. I had the "Feeds and Updates" widget set to never update, unless I manually did it. Why was it trying to connect when it shouldn't have been? Don't know. Am I certain that this widget was the offending application? Not sure. Since removing the widget, I haven't had any bandwidth spikes.
PS. I tried Droid Wall, but it fails to work.
Samsung Captivate :: Buddies Now Widget & Two Dots On Front Of Phone
Sep 15, 2010I just got a samsung captavaite and i was told that the buddies now widget was also suppose to show your friends whom you added to the widget status/post on facebook if they had facebook. is there something that i need to do/activate for this to happen? also does anyone know what the 2 dots on the front of the phone is? i know it's not a front cacing camera, but it's strange.. can't seem to figure out what it is.

Nov 26, 2010I'm seeing strange photos in this widget when I click on the weather part of the widget, and then select the white helmet-looking icon that pops up second from the left. A sequence of about five photos pop up. They appear to be photos taken from the road in and around the city I traveled to today. One photo has today's date time-stamped on it...I'm not taking any photos today so not sure why they would appear.
I'm sure there is a simple explanation, I just can't figure out what the photos are supposed to be and why they pop up from within this widget.

I was using simple free phone earlier which doesn't require data plan but after two weeks I bought samsung captivate, AT&T added $25 data plan. I got my phone from AT&T store where my friend works so he took my data plan out of the plan for now but he said they will find out and add into your plan again. Also, He said that they recognize by your IMEI number. My question is: Is there anyway I can change my IMEI number? I was thinking to use my simple free Nokia phone's IMEI number and use it for Samsung Captivate so AT&T thinks that I am using Nokia phone.

Aug 27, 2010I have an unlocked captivate. I have a German T-D1 pay-as-you-go sim that I've used many times in unlocked GPS phones. Now I have an AT&T captivate and wonder whether GPS or other apps will work. Does GPS require a data plan to work? If so I'll have to figure out whetted I can add this to my T-D1 plan. This will also answer my question about whether using the Captivate for navigation in the US needs a data plan to work.

However neither Super Manager or ASTRO will allow me to uninstall the crap ware on my phone. Is there something I'm missing? I followed all the steps at XDA.
