Samsung Captivate :: Launcher Pro Or ADW Launcher Or Anyother
Oct 27, 2010Which is best launcher for Captivate? which can help in saving my battery used by display (around 50-60%)
I used ADW for a while, but when I am on ADW my notification bar get vanished. I dk how..so i switched to launcher pro. I had a random shut down once, so now I am thinking it because of Launcher pro.
Is there any launcher (other then default one) which can be problem free and have good interface? Or I should wait for the Latest and cleanest version of launcher pro (the developer is writing it from scratch)
Hows is helix? anybody used it. HTC sense? can we use on captivate? Zeam launcher?

Jul 23, 2010First I recommend installing Home Switcher which will allow you to more easily switch between launchers if you choose to do so. From within the program you can see how easy it is to switch between them and/or make one the default.Once you have set your preferred launcher, go back to the home screen and you should see that your dock has changed to something similar to the next screen shot.To change the settings hit the MENU soft key (beneath the screen) and you should see this:Click on Preferences and that gives you access to all of the settings to customize the look & feel of Launcher Pro.To change the items in the dock, press and hold on the item you want to change. You will see a pop up that looks like the following:To change the item, choose one of the selections in that list and then follow the on screen directions.

Sep 30, 2010I downloaded ADW Launcher but have no clue how to actually get into it. Its not under the applications. I may be missing something, could someone help me out?
Ummm ok nevermind. i uninstalled it three times and just installed it again and it seems to be working i pressed the home key and it came up. Is this how you do it every time?
Samsung Captivate :: Launcher Pro Locks Up / Fix It?
Aug 18, 2010When I press and hold on a widget to move it and let go of it in the place where it originally was, launcher pro locks up and I cant move through any screens.
The only way I can fix my problem is to press the menu button, go to applications and force close launcher pro.
It's really annoying, anyone else dealing with this or have a fix?

Aug 30, 2010When trying to add an activity to the homescreen with launcher pro a black screen comes up, (eventually), with a blue bar across the top that says activities and that's it. It won't load.

Sep 30, 2010i loaded launcher pro & love it. On my dock I have: Phone, Market, App Drawer, Google Voice, & Browser. I installed a different browser - dolphin - then assigned it to my browser shortcut. I didn't really care for it so I uninstalled it. However, I can't change the shortcut in LP to my original browser. When I bring up shortcuts, there's not a listing for it.

Oct 12, 2010I am going about changing the launcher on my captivate and made what seems like a crucial error. I am rooted, opened Titanium Backup and un-installed twlauncher. Everything seemed ok at first until i went to my homescreen, total blackness. Ultimately i wanted to get rid of tw because i don't like the UI wanted the stock droid launcher or LauncherPro or something. How do install the .apk file without touchwiz? or get my launcher back.

I was using simple free phone earlier which doesn't require data plan but after two weeks I bought samsung captivate, AT&T added $25 data plan. I got my phone from AT&T store where my friend works so he took my data plan out of the plan for now but he said they will find out and add into your plan again. Also, He said that they recognize by your IMEI number. My question is: Is there anyway I can change my IMEI number? I was thinking to use my simple free Nokia phone's IMEI number and use it for Samsung Captivate so AT&T thinks that I am using Nokia phone.

Aug 27, 2010I have an unlocked captivate. I have a German T-D1 pay-as-you-go sim that I've used many times in unlocked GPS phones. Now I have an AT&T captivate and wonder whether GPS or other apps will work. Does GPS require a data plan to work? If so I'll have to figure out whetted I can add this to my T-D1 plan. This will also answer my question about whether using the Captivate for navigation in the US needs a data plan to work.

However neither Super Manager or ASTRO will allow me to uninstall the crap ware on my phone. Is there something I'm missing? I followed all the steps at XDA.
