In the browser, if you are replying to a thread or if someone posts a picture and it's bigger then the window...on a computer you will get a separate scroll bar for that window...you guys know what I'm talking about?
On the iPhone you can use two fingers and it will scroll that separate window separately from the main window. How do you do this on the Captivate?

Can't I cut and paste from a browser window or text editor like you can on the iPhone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWell I paid no attention to my phone turning off, because before it would only do it maybe once or twice a week so it was no biggy. But this last week, every day when I woke up and checked my phone, it would be off, and throughout the day it would shut off 4-6 times a day. Then I looked up the problem and saw that I had purchased a bugged phone. The thing is, I noticed this OUTSIDE of my 30 day window.
Now I'm about to call AT&T, buy I am scared that I'm going to get my exchange rejected, or they're going to try to give me a new battery when clearly that's not going to help. What can I say in order to persuade them to make the exchange? I'm really bad at making a good point and I need to write down points and have them in front of me so I don't forget to bring them up, and me end up sounding like I don't know what I'm talking about.
Does it just depend who I talk to and hang up on whoever isn't giving me what I want to hear and try again?
Is there not a browser 'home' button, or do you have to open a new window every time?

I want when text area get focus scroll a little bit and also display the bottom buttons while text area id selected.
Ive tried everything and cant isolate the program. Is there any other option?

However, I prefer the Samsung keyboard and swype over android keyboard for actual typing. is there a way to invoke speech-to-text on the other keyboards as well? Long-pressing the search Captivate button only invokes Google voice search.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an issue on my new Captivate where the text messages don't appear in order. It seems it only sorts them by a minute time stamp versus seconds. It's not an issue if they are more than a minute apart, but if I get a text say at 4:30:01 and send a reply at 4:30:15 and get a reply back at 4:30:45, it will put my outgoing text on top followed by the 2 text I received below that. Where it should be received text, reply text, and receive text. Not sure if that made sense or not, but if you were to number them 1,2,3 in order of actual time, it's listing them in 2,1,3 order. It's not a huge deal but it's annoying to me. My iPhone did not do this. Is there a fix for this?

However on the DroidX, the keyboard looks identical, but it does have the mic. Can we download a new version of swype that has this enabled. I like swype but want to be able to talk to my phone.

I've seen a lot of videos of the Captivate and Vibrant and when they show the Messaging app it shows the bubble (kind of IPhone look) and I was wondering if you can change the look to the regular android look?
Maybe by pressing "Menu" you can change it or something.
I love my Captivate, but I've been having issues with my text messages. When I receive a text, it says I got it a few hours before, which is annoying because the text messages are not in chronological order.... I'm using an AT&T Captivate on Rogers Canada network.
