Oct 3, 2010Web sites claim that I simply push the menu key and press "set as", but no such option exists. I got the MP3 from Amazon.

Samsung Captivate :: Notification Ringtone Sucks / Still Plays "cloud" Ringtone - Change It?
Sep 11, 2010After applying SRE v1.2.3 (…… SRE v1.2.3… | Root + OC 1.2GHz + MobileAP + USB Tether + LagFix - xda-developers), my notification ringtone sucks. I have changed it many times but it still plays the "cloud" ringtone. Any ideas?

Nov 16, 2010I have copied a couple of mp3 music files onto my Captivate in the "sounds" folder. But I don't see them as available in my ringtone list, only the ones that came with the phone are there. I can play the mp3 files with the music player, so I know they're on the phone OK.

But I've been trying to assign an individual ringtone to my wife's number (she doesn't care for "Secret Prayer" by Joe Satriani, suggested something by ABBA, and is lucky she isn't getting "Scolding Wife" by Great Big Sea) but I haven't had any luck. Is this a Captivate thing? The other android phones seem to be easy enough.

No ringtones, no notifications, no mp3s, no sound on videos...calls show up and you can answer, talk and be heard, just no audio other than that.
Media volume up full.
Ringer volume up full.
Notification volume up full.
System volume up full.
Not on silent.
Not on vibrate.
Haven't tried it with a bluetooth headset because she doesn't use one.
Hasn't dropped it...nothing like that.

Dec 10, 2009I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

Jan 28, 2010Hey all, so I just got a Samsung Galaxy finally in the mail. It took long enough to figure out how to put music on it, then use my music for ringtones. But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

May 17, 2010I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. Android :: Setting A New Default Ringtone Without Ringtone Picker
Mar 28, 2010I'd like to set a new default ringtone without using the ringtone picker. In other words, there is a certain ringtone that is already installed on my system, and I want to programmatically set it to be my default ringtone without any human interaction. The reason I want this is because every time I reboot my N-1, my previous default ringtone setting gets forgotten, and I am given another ringtone that I don't like. I want to set up an app that I can run manually (or better yet, to cause to automatically run upon startup) which will reset my default ringtone to the one that I like without my having to manually do this via the Settings.
The only examples I have found so far for doing this involve using the ringtone picker, but as far as I can tell, this requires human interaction, which I want to avoid.

Mar 27, 2010I am getting really bent trying to figure out how to save a mp3 as a ring tone. Had a friend text and email me a cool ring tone to my phone which I clicked on save to sd card. Now once I save it and even download it I can never find it on my phone. I even went to the net and found this same ring tone and downloaded it and aved it to the sd card but of course I can't find it anywhere on my phone. I can never find crap when I save to my sd card there is no where on my phone I can go to and look at stuff that I down loaded to the sd card. I would really like to learn how to find crap that I save to my sd card and then use it as a ring tone.
