View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was told by a Sprint rep that if the phone memory gets below about 80 MB then the phone will start to lag. Well I can't seem to delete enough stuff to get back above 80 MB available memory, I deleted pics, texts messages and various apps that I would have liked to keep. I started playing with my wife's phone which has more apps then mine, I checked her available phone memory and she has 102 MB!!! I can't figure out what I could have on my phone memory that would be taking up over 20 MB of space. Where can I look to try and figure this out? My wife's phone is very zippy and quick, while my phone waits forever when switching apps.
Also, How do I transfer pics I have taken on my phone to the SD card instead of using phone memory?
Newbie to Androids here, just upgraded from a nokia 2323 (yep, pretty big upgrade). When I connect my phone to the computer, I want to put files on the phone and be able to access them. I have Astro File Manager, but when I go all the way to the top level of folders with that, the folders available are.
app
bin
build
customize
etc
fonts
framework
lib
lost+found
media
usr
xbin
And when I open the "external drive" (phone) on the computer, all I can see is.
.bookmark_thumb1
.footprints
albumthumbs
backup
data
DCIM
download
LOST.DIR
media
miner_savegames (from gem miner)
minerdemo_savegames (from gem miner demo im guessing)
MP3
Photofunia (guessing its data for the Photofunia)
rosie_scroll
rssreader
User Manual
HTCSync_2.0.28 (application)
robo_defense_full.bak

View 9 Replies View RelatedHave a Samsung Galaxy ring, trying to transfer two pics via USB. The reason being is that I took those photos before I bought a micro SD card. With the card, all photos automatically go to the card and easily into my PC. However the first 2 pics aren't recognized and I thought I might use the USB. Tried it just by plugging in, I saw the files, but can't open any.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's my first time here and i received my new Hero (or T Mobile G2 Touch) yesterday so sorry if i'm asking a dumb question! I put the micro SD from my old phone into the Hero and as it's full up i was hoping to transfer some of the files onto the phone using the internal memory, but i cannot find a way of doing this. Also now that the card is full i am unable to take new photos cos there is no space for them to be stored. Do i have to do something to access the internal memory?

View 9 Replies View RelatedFrom what I was told, the Inc supports 32gb microsd card. So I ordered a Sandisk one...class 4. I got it and tested it out. It seems like it can transfer/read small files....but anything big it wouldn't read properly. It's funny cuz a movie file would transfer and play...but if I delete it and transfer the same exact file over, it wouldn't play. Or if I transfer music, some files play and some wouldnt. And some even would merge into one file. Like one song would play and then all sudden another song would POP up like what a DJ does when they mix songs together.
I know I might have a defected one but this is a legit Sandisk card. So what else could be the problem? Should I transfer the file one or slower so the card can read it....is there a way or procedure to using a 32gb MicroSd card? Lol. I mean I have a 16gb right now and it reads and transfers fine. With the 16gb I can literally drag a folder of 10 movies and it would be fine.
Can you import your pictures from the sd card to mediascape?

One of my main queries is though, file transfer from my Galaxy to my MacBook Pro - why can't I see previews of what I'm transferring? I have to transfer the file to my MacBook, and then decide if I want to keep it or not because that's the only way it'll reveal what it is. I thought I'd be able to SEE what's on my phone to then be able to select what I want to transfer. But all I see are file names which as you know are always just like IMG_0000786597.jpg
How can i save files such as pics, videos and music to SD memory card or transfer from phone to SD card? really frustrating? its an xperia x10

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Sandisc 64GB SD card went kaputt last week, it froze at 33GB, luckily the existing files are all ok and I was able to copy all the files onto my PC, however nothing new can be written to it. I've tried formatting with no success. So I copied the files onto the PC and just got a new this time Samsung 64GB micro SD card. Problem I'm having now is that on several attempts it's failed to copy the files back to my SD card (from PC) I've formatted the card in the Note 3..the music files about 4 GB transferred just fine, the problem seems to be with the Pix and Videos. I'm currently trying to copy the DCIM folder back onto the micro sd and it's saying it'll take 6 hours.
I have tried: copying from PC to micro SD in the phone via USB copying from PC to micro SD in SD card adapter plugged directly into PC
copying from PC to micro SD in USB adapter plugged into PC
all results the same

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having troubles transfering files from my PC to Samsung S3. I can copy pictures from the S3 to my PC fine and I see everything - I just can't do it the other way around. Everytime I do, the thing just freezes and nothing happens and after a while it will say: Cannot copy (filename): this device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. The camera may not support copying files from your computer.
I tried both the modes of USB (MTP and the camera thing) as well as turning on debugging. Nothing seems to resolve.
I've tried using the USB and selecting USB mass storage. My phone is showing up in My Computer as a "device with removable storage", but when I click on it, no files or folders are showing up. The only items listed are a setup file and the driver file. I have already run and installed the driver correctly as far as I know and nothing happens when the setup file is clicked. I'm using a 2007 Toshiba Satellite.
I'm trying to move a video that is taking up most of my storage on my SD card.

Here's what's interesting to me...If I go START>COMPUTER>RIGHT CLICK>MANAGE>COMPUTER MANAGEMENT>DISK MANAGEMENT...IF I have the SD card connected to the computer, then that box freezes right there and stops responding...If I disconnect the SD card, box automatically pops up and shows the hard drives on the computer. Plug it back it, that box stops responding again.
Another intersting note...Now AUTOPLAY is attempting to pop up and run...it keeps running the bar back and forth like it's attempting to read, but then it just disappears. If I go to MY COMPUTER and look, I can see the F DRIVE there...but when I attempt to click on it...It just freezes that box as well, stops responding and I have to force close it.
With the AutoPlay kicking on and MY COMPUTER recognizing the F Drive, that leads me to believe that the card itself isn't 100% toast and recoverable...Has the controller module on the card gone out?
And FWIW, I have tried getting the card to read on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and OS-X...The AutoPlay that it's doing now is on an XP machine. Obviously, I can't attempt to salvage any files if I can't get the computer to atleast recognize (and continue to recognize) the card.
I have a 7 inch tablet running ICS 4.0.3.

Any app for this purpose?
I was hoping to retrieve some accidentally erased pics from my phone with an SD card adapter. When I opened up my phone I was surprised to see that there was NO sd card. who have that memory chip, but is there any hope for me without the card? Incidentally, Google+ backed up a few of my photos.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a bluetooth dongle on Amazon (ORICO BTA 403, CSR8510 A10 chipset) and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer.
The dongle installs fine and works perfectly with all my older phones but not with my Xperia S running Android 4.1.2.
Basically, if I install the automatic windows driver, and pair with the phone, windows complains about no drivers for the device, and I can't do anything with it.
If I install the supplied software (CSR Harmony wireless software stack) I can pair and the Xperia S is installed properly, the various audio services work (I can stream music to PC using BT), but I still can't send or receive files, either from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC.
The connection times out after a second and gives me a connectivity error. It's like the phone refuses to connect to the PC, both when transferring and receiving.
I don't know if the phone is the problem, it seems to not work only when doing file transfers with PC, if I try to transfer files to other phones or to my mac (which has built in BT) it works fine.
Any way to troubleshoot this issue to tell if the problem comes from the phone or the dongle? By the way, using Airdroid instead of BT is not a fix.
I am moving on to a new phone and I need to transfer large files from my phone to my PC using my home network. Actually it's only 3 folders... Whatsapp, Photos and Music but each is about 3gb. My usb connection to my PC is unstable and it randomly drops.
