View 2 RepliesI have had a Google Voice account for about 8 months. During that time I've used a G1, BB8700 and BH2 with the service. By far the BH2 is the worst. I get FC's all the time and the lag when making a call is absurd. I have to wait 10 - 30 seconds for the call to begin, then once the screen finally reflects that a call is being made it takes another 10-15 seconds for the call to begin ringing. In bound seems better, but it makes it hard to use efficiently. Also, I can't stand the fact that there isn't a "Use Google Voice" context menue when placing a call so that by default I use my regular phone number, but can easily switch to using my GV account when I want to. The BB app had this feature and it was awesome - it seems absurd to have to launch the GV app to make a call simply because I havent selected GV to be used for all calls. OK, rant over. Does anyone have a positive experience with GV? Am I just being unreasonable (wouldnt be the first time)

I have switched to VERIZON and got the Droid Incredible (And it really is). Anyway, I don't have a land line at home and I want to use my behold 2 as a house phone over WI-Fi. When I take the sim card out and try to make a call (Using goggle voice) it says not registered to the network. Using an unregistered Sim card sends the call to T-Mobile. How can I get it to use straight goggle voice?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any place where all the cell phones are listed with what version of Android they support and how far they can be upgraded? I'm 50 years old and getting confused by all this techo stuff. I am getting rid of my Behold II this week and getting a phone that can play XM RADIO, MLB games and allow me to text easily. THAT IS ALL I CARE THAT MY PHONE DOES!
Oh and make calls.
Would you be able to implement another different framework-res.apk into one of the custom roms? If so I have the galaxy s framework! If some devs want to take over, my email is . PM me and ill send it to you!
View 3 Replies View RelatedWill this work? Will they all ring when the 1 number is called? Particularly as applies to Android 2.2.
The idea is to use a couple old Android phones as a home phone system.
Has anyone who won their Behold II from Samsung last year ever gotten an update? I just got off the phone with T-mobile and I was told that Samsung would need to send out the update. Please let me know if you have received the first update and then the 1.6 update, also has anyone received a forced update from T-mobile?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell it looks like questions for Google Voice are in threads all over the place so I guess I'll start another one here. Here goes. I'm setting up my GV account and plan on selecting a GV number. Now will people calling me on my new number see any difference billing-wise compared to my current cell number? I know this doesn't really apply to cell phones but what about someone calling from a land line? The GV number I am selecting will be based out of the city I live in. Will that equate to the city or area of my current cell number?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for the question I'm about to ask and didn't find any threads so here it goes. Can someone post the steps to setting up Google Voice as visual voice mail for the Captivate? I know it's probably something very simple but I just can't figure it out ( yes, I'm a bit slow ).

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using Captivate on the AT&T network and looking into goggle voice. Since the main feature I am interested in (for now) is the visual voice mail, I was thinking of getting the option without the GV number and therefore, keeping my cell phone number. I have several questions:
1. Does this work well with the Captivate phone?
2. Is there any delay in getting the voice mails by going through GV?
3. Does this eat into my data plan at all? Currently, I am only on the 200 mb plan per month.
4. If I try to get text messages through GV, would that not use up my data plan and instead come through my Internet connection ( which could at times be free if I am in a WiFi zone)?
does anyone have problem with google goggles? it FC right after i take the pic
View 2 Replies View RelatedCould someone that has the Behold II post a test of Google Street View or Sky Map using the accelerometer/compass? I have a My Touch and I would like to compare the two.. Just a detailed description of the experience or a youtube video would nice.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my Behold 2 a couple of days ago and love it. Like ya'll, I hope they update droid to 2.0 or greater. The problem that I am having is with the GPS. I have turned it on in the settings, but it does not seem to work. I cannot locate my position while using google maps. I downloaded a weather app and it could not locate my position either. The icon lights up showing that the phone is searching but it does not find anything. I am thinking that I should trade this one in for another while I can. Anyone else have this problem? (I have been outside during clear weather during the searches.)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Nimbuzz and fring to make a voice call but fring does not support skype anymore and Nimbuzz somehow mutes itself. I wonder what other BH2 users use to make a voice or video call. If would be really helpful if someone can let me know. I'm in a long-distance(9000km) relationship.

I've got a Samsung Moment that had 1.5 on it for about 4 months and had Google Voice working on it just fine. Great, loved it.
I recently updated to 2.1, and everything works great on the phone EXCEPT Google Voice.
I go through the steps and it tells me "We have a problem! Your phone number could not be verified. Please try again."
I've tried a BUNCH of time, rebooted, uninstalled/reinstalled, everything I could think of.
I have two different google voice numbers, one for business and one for personal.I was wondering if there is an app or a certain way in which you can chose between which number you would like to call from without logging out and logging back in under each different account.
View 4 Replies View Relatedso i was playing w/my google voice, and now all my calls to my Cell number somehow go to my google voice number which is a different number then my cell number. I just want my calls to my cell to go to my cell voicemail but I can not figure out how to deactivate whatever I've done. Can anyone help?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright, so its day 3 of my time with the captivate... so far so good. coming from my iPhone 2g, I will say the device is amazingly fast by comparison... Also, I have been able to make and receive calls from my office and my in-laws house. two places that had been frustrating dead-zones before. So I am happy. Now, I'm switching over to Google Voice for my SMS, since its free, usable on desktop, etc.I am also using LauncherPro as my Launcher.I am not rooted and don't really plan on rooting.A couple Questions:
- I LOVE the puzzle-piece unlock when there is a Text waiting, is there any way to have this become the standard unlock screen?
- Or, alternatively, can I at least get it to work for texts waiting on google voice? Any way to expand the puzzle functions to include email?
- Is there a good Google Talk widget?
- Is there something I can change to improve facebook notifications? It seems I don't get any, unless I open the app. I tried the widget, but that seems to be just a news feed. Am I missing some setting for push notifications?
I finally got GV visual voicemail working using my carrier number as my GV number. it took 2 days of frustration.now, from what I understand, i should be able to use GV to send text/SMS messages.is that true?when i launch GV app, i don't have any options to compose messages. how is that supposed to work?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI was googling for "google voice actions eclair" in the hopes that a 2.1 version was in the works, and I found out that Vlingo (normally $9.99 in the market) is now free. It does some of the same things that the Google one apparently does (no setting alarms, though, too bad).
