Can someone post a link to an HTC_IME.apk that works with BH_Man's roms? I hate Swype, and every HTC_IME.apk file I find force closes when I select it under Input Method. Help?

Alright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
I installed the new a2sd and followed the given instruction. Is there anyway that I can find out if this is working correctly or not?

Has anyone managed to get the HTC KB to work post 1.6? I really don't like swype even though I have given it a chance.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed BH_Man's 1.6 notwiz using Odin and everything is working great except my HTC sense keyboard seems to crash nonstop now (it was working before with just stock 1.5). Is anyone here also having that problem? If someone has a working sense keyboard app that works with this rom, can you please upload it or tell me which version the app is? Swype is cool but I would also like to have the sense keyboard as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got off the phone with Tmobile since my visual voicemail wasnt setup, and took the time to ask if they have any word on an update to their android line up. He said he just received an email today from up top that yes Tmobile is working with Google to provide an update to the Cliq, Behold II, and myTouch(Not sure if I heard G1 or not).So the fact that the reps have gotten word of it makes me feel alot better about this. And his understanding was the Cliq would be first but the rest to follow not long after that.

Im confused about bh man and all these different revisions and roms and roots and such. What im looking for is a rom that will run a bit faster but leave the camera app alone. i personally like twiz but i'd like to try the phone without it. the problem is that i dont know if the camera app build in to the camera is twiz or not. i dont want to lose all the camera options. is there a rom that removes twiz but leaves the camera and its app alone? the camera the app for it and how it ran were the big selling points for me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just updated from R5 to R7 and I'm still having issues with the GPS. Specifically I'm using Google Maps/Navigate and they can't seem to find my location. The first day I flashed R5, it took a few minutes, but Navigate eventually locked on and started working. I just let it run for 45 minutes and it couldn't locate. Has anyone else has any trouble or success with GPS in the 1.6 ROMs?

2. Let It Fully Die and Power Off & Charge Full while Off..
3. Doing the above will Show major Improvements!
I have little doubt that the battery problems would be solved by bumping out of cupcake. I actually like Touchwiz, but it seems to be causing a ton of problems. Once we get 2.0 from Samsung, I don't think we can rely on it to fix the little things. It's time to bump it up to stock ourselves. I'm no ROM cooker, but I'm willing to try. Now that we have persistent root, what next? How do we start making ROMs for this thing?

I am currently running BH2 1.6 no twiz. I was thinking on trying the galazy 1.6 but on the BH2 1.6 no twiz thread. It says that flash boot and phone only once, why? I want to go back to 1.5. should I only flash PDA? Why BH_MAN says only flash boot, phone once?

Requirements:
A Samsung Behold 2 to backup/edit/test ROMs on
Root via try3/asroot2, persistent su, or modified kernel
Working ADB connection
SD Card with ~300MB free
Cygwin - if you are working in Windows
Basic knowledge of a command line
Making the ROM Dump: The Behold 2 has 14 partitions in its flash memory, but only a few of these are useful to modify. You will want to focus on different partitions depending on what you want to do. After you make a ROM dump you will need to package it using the instructions in the following section before you can flash it. Backup your personal data? You may want to backup your data while trying out a different ROM. It is simple to do. Start an ADB shell session and obtain root access. So I've had my Behold 2 for about 2 months now, and I've tried several different ROMs, but all of them have this same problem, apps always disappear after a reboot. Things such as google maps, navigation, places, springpad, dropbox, astrid tasks, handcent sms, even the android market sometimes is completely gone, not even in the apps list from settings. It only shows a white box with the green android, and when opened, it just says app not installed. If I reboot/pull battery some of the apps mix n' match for which ones to appear and not. After one reboot, dropbox will be gone, while on another springpad will be gone but dropbox is back.
So it's never the same. I'm currently using BHMAN's latest take5 ROM, and I've tried 1.6 no twiz, microhaxo's OTA 1.6 tweaked as well as bearsfan's all having similar results. Now when I first flashed a custom ROM, I used the unlockr's guide, and followed the rooting instructions there. Could it be that the rooted ROMs are interfering somehow with the already rooted phone? Is it possible to unroot the phone and flash back to stock 1.5 or 1.6? Then I would try flashing to one the latest ROMs.
I am looking to see if anyone (BH_MAN... ) has Alpha Recovery from the last BH_MAN ROMS dumped into an odin ready image. I am trying to get A2SD to work on the OTA, and I would like to be able to partition the SD card directly from the phone, which Alpha Recovery does...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).

View 13 Replies View RelatedAfter many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

So i would like to root it and run a factory1.6 no twiz rom on it, but I'm having issues while doing it!....
I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"
Does anyone know if you can use any multitouch because any app that says it has multitouch doesn't work

I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

Sprint release the 2.1 update for the Samsung Moment today. Here is the link to the update on Sprint's website. Will this update work for our Behold II? I'm willing to try to install it on mine (I'm currently running 1.6 no twiz). What do you think guys?

View 9 Replies View RelatedG1 and my Behold 2 her phone had good reception and the behold had nearly none. Half the time I don't get phone calls. They go straight to VM. My roommate's BB pearl gets double the reception mine does. My other roommate's Nokia gets even better reception. All on the T-mo network. Another friend who has a G1 same thing, he has reception I don't. Not to mention the other problems I have had. This is my 3rd Behold II by the way. Been replaced twice and back to Samsung for 3 weeks once.
