Nexus :: Quick Boot Does Not Work

Nov 4, 2010

I am using Goggle's Nexus One with Android 2.2 installed on it. The device is rooted. I have always been using the "quick boot" application with no issues. Recently (about a week), it stopped working. By "stopped working" I mean that it runs, shown the menu to choose boot method from and when I choose one of the options - nothing happens. I tried choosing multiple times, and still no go. I purchased the "hot reboot" app, thinking it might be a problem with the app, and it doesn't work as well. I installed "busybox" and it told me that my device is rooted but it did not manage to install. It is probably a permissions issue. The "superuser" app seems to work, because when I run it it shows me that "set cpu" gets a root access. I tried going back to backups as long as 6 months ago, but it still did not work.

Motorola Droid X :: Quick Boot

Aug 12, 2010

Is there a way to get into recovery mode using quick boot? Or is there a program out there that will alow me to get into recovery mode. I liked quick boot because it allowed me to make a backup of the phone to an sd card. I am still not sure how to use titanium back up so if there is another program suggested that would be great.

This will bring you to a menu that gives you the option to erase user data or not, choosing yes will reset firmware to factory and you will lose ALL settings, including wallpapers, ringtones, etc, but your sd card will remain untouched... if you brick your hero this should help, but im not claiming responsibility if it doesnt.

Nexus : Unable To Use Quick Rooter On Froyo

Jun 6, 2010

i started with a stock N1 running unrooted froyo, then i unlocked the bootloader using the command "fastboot-windows oem unlock". i know that it is in fact unlocked because i see the open lock icon when the phone starts up now and i also see the **UNLOCKED** text in the bootloader menu. now I'm trying to use cyanogen's quick rooter (stock kernel) from here: Quick rooter for stock FroYo systems + 2.6.34 kernel - xda-developers. renamed it to update.zip (made sure it's not update.zip.zip), copied it to sdcard and I'm flashing it the same way i did the froyo update from the recovery menu but I'm getting an error saying signature verification failed. why would i still be getting this message after unlocking the bootloader?

KitKat 4.4 :: Nexus 4 - Hangouts Quick Reply Not Sending?

Dec 9, 2013

I've been using hangouts for SMS since my Nexus 4 got the Kit Kat update. When I get an SMS I get the notification popup as I have with every SMS app I've used, and I and do a quick reply to the SMS from the popup, but when I press send it disappears off into... I have no idea where. It never arrives and if I look at the hangout thread it should relate to it isn't there.

I did wonder if the popup might be coming from my old SMS add (Handcent) but the icon is Hangouts and the message isn't in Handcent either.

Nexus :: My Nexus One Boot Animation Is Delayed

Sep 8, 2010

one day when I was playing around with clockword mod and selected restart adbd(I thought it meant the adb daemon but I guess it means something else) in the advanced options area.Well I consider my self pretty tech smart and "advanced" for a 13 year old but I guess things happen. Now when I boot my nexus one the actual boot animation(not splash) is not showing for the first 3 quarters of the boot up. Then I thought I bricked my device because the screen wasn't showing the animation for 20 sec. Then I saw the touch-sensitve buttons light up and then 2 seconds later the animation apeared only for 2 seconds untill my device was booted. I tried overwriting the boot animation in both /system/media/ and in /device/local/ ad it had no effect. I dont know what to do. I am rooted using universal androot because I want to be able to unvoid my warrnaty. So my bootloader isn't unlocked. I am running Cyanogen Mod 6 and am loving it so far! But I am wondering what to do? Should I re-flash the rom? I tried pressing restart adbd again and it did nothing? i have not done a Nandroid restore because it will mess up my apps that are on the sdcard if i restore back. I dont know what to do.

Droid X :: Motorola Contact Quick Tasks Does Not Work With Launcher Pro

I figured I'd give everyone a heads up in regards to the Motorola Contact Quick Tasks Widget not working with Launcher Pro. You can use any of the stock Motorola widgets with Launcher Pro but they can not be re-sized. The only one that does not work is the Contact Quick Tasks, it will appear on the screen but when you try adding the type of task (text, phone) you get a message, saying that it needs to be re-sized, which you can not do with LP.

Nexus :: Phone Won't Boot - Keeps Restarting

Aug 15, 2010

I've tried hard reseting, nandroid restores and wiping all my data but my phone still won't boot. I had cyanogen 6 Rom installed on it and when I turned it on this morning the usual animation came up but after a minute it froze and kept restarting. I then tried all the things above and now it only gets the first solid looking X image and it doesn't move on to the animation. I have a feeling it was Rom manager that caused this as I clicked fix permissions last night.

General :: Nexus 7 Won't Pass Initial Boot

Dec 25, 2012

Yesterday I got a Nexus 7, but I haven't been able to use it yet. After letting it charge for a while, I hold the power button to boot, followed by a white Google logo on a black screen. After roughly 16 seconds, the screen goes blank and repeats the process. I am able to access the menu that shows the Android on it's back, with the body open with blue buttons. There is no red triangle.

From here, I can select start and it again shows the Google logo - but just hangs there. No difference after minutes of waiting. Same results for Recovery Mode. If the device is plugged in via USB to a charger / computer, the Nexus freezes when reaching the menu, after which I am forced to reboot the device.

Well there is a /data folder on my Nexus and it's empty. If I try to make a new folder it says "cannot create new folder" in File Explorer that came with CM6.1. Astro greys out the create folder button. What am I missing? Also I saw that you can ADB push it. WTF does that mean? I know how to do some fastboot stuff, is it the same? Nexus :: 2.2.1 Update - Force Close Launcher / Won't Boot

Oct 12, 2010

I've noticed my Nexus acting a bit buggy since the 2.2.1 update. Lots of force closes with the launcher. (which is exactly why I shredded and burned my old MyTouch for). After FINALLY getting a THIRD 16 gig card, after the other two got "damaged" costing me so far 25-30 gigs of content, I loading it up with movies and songs for my vacation. I go to reboot and it keeps looping the boot animation but wont boot up. Getting really close to kissing Android good bye as I've had NOTHING but bugs and damaged SD cards and an overall terrible user experience for a year and a half with two phones. I know we're only really two years into development but how much longer do we have to wait for a finished product that I don't have to keep making excuses for? More to the point WTF is going on with the boot loader on my phone and how do I fix it?

The toolkit says I'm in fastboot when connected, but nothing is on my screen.

At this point I am at a complete loss. If I can't get it to work is that a valid reason for replacement by Google?

General :: Nexus One - SD Card Slow To Mount At Boot

Oct 29, 2011

When I boot up my Nexus One, it takes <Sandlot>FOR-EVV-ERRR</Sandlot> to mount my SD card. I've got most of my apps on that card, so it's super annoying!

Like I've said, I've got a bunch of apps (40?) loaded on to this card, a few documents, 4 CDs... random stuff. I haven't formatted the card in a looong time... nor have I wiped the phone in a loooong time. I am a crackflasher - I flash a new ROM every day, but I VERY RARELY have issues, so that's why I haven't wiped in so long. I would be happy to just mount the SD manually through the terminal when I need it to.

The phone is a Nexus One. I'm running a CM7.1(or whatever it is) based ROM and kernel. The SD card is the 16gig one that came with the phone.

What's the terminal command to mount the SD card to the phone? So the ROM can access it?

Nexus : Unable To Boot Main Image Or Access Recovery

Oct 29, 2010

I have a Nexus one and I have made a bit of a mess of it when loading a custom rom. Previously I'd rooted (without unlocking) the stock (2.2) rom before loading Cyanogen 6, later Cyanogen nightlies and finally eViL-NXSense-v1213. I was rather enjoying the last one but had severe stability issues which I think was due to using Titanium Backup and restoring data. I was in the process of re-imaging to eViL-NXSense-v1213 after clearing the SD card, data and various caches when something seemed to happen to the recovery image. I can get into the boot loader but if I select Recovery it shows the Nexus One logo indefinitely and doesn't respond to the power button being pressed, the same happens if I turn it on from cold.

Is it possible that the recovery image has somehow been corrupted? If so what can I do to restore a recovery image that will enable me to install a custom rom. I would prefer not to unlock the boot loader but will do it if necessary.

General :: Nexus 4 Stuck At Boot Screen After Replacing LCD / Digitizer?

I just replaced my LCD and digitizer on my Nexus 4 after i dropped it and the screen cracked. It was still in working condition after the damage, but the touch screen was unresponsive. The installation went pretty smoothly but when I went to boot it up after it gets stuck at the bootup screen with the 4 bubbles. I tried some of the solutions people found for a similar problem a few months back when Google released Kit Kat 4.4 for the Nexus 4 but none of them have worked for me. There doesn't seem to be any hardware functionality issues, just some software glitch that I can't figure out.
