Alrighty, the mysterious google,facebook contact syncing is up to it again. All of the sudden my contacts are now showing up last name, first name. Any ideas how to change this back to first name, last name?

How come new contacts created on the phone are not showing up in my Gmail account online? Is there a way to keep everything synching in both directions? Most of my contacts are in Outlook, but I'm trying to use Gmail to keep things simple.

I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.
Some questions?
With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?

so looks like a problem with 2.2 is that some apps, maybe protected ones, arnt showing up in the market since update. am sure this happened when the desire came out and htc had to do an update to sort it out.does this mean we can expect to be getting an update soon or is it something they can sort out without an update.example of some that no longer show. tapatalk and close everything 2.

My first evo had light leakage I drove 20 miles just to exchange it and it has light leakage in the same exact spot. Slightly less though. What ever I'm not going to let it stop me from enjoying this phone I got a nice Seidel case and it covers the leakage. But I logged in my g mail account and synced everything but my contacts aren't showing up any ideas? And do you guys have light leakage also?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an htc desire and when i go into people all my numbers etc are there HOWEVER for example if i go into maps and theres a button to view contacts it takes me onto a page which says search contacts and does nt matter what name of my contacts i put in it says NO MATCHES FOUND!!! Please can someone help as its driving me nuts and making me wonder whether I should have gotten a different phone ( I still have time to send it back)

I have had this problem in the past with my Inc and Droid but all I did was go into settings and have it show only people with phone numbers but on my X I can't find this setting. Am I overlooking it somewhere or is there no setting for this?

When I get to the the "All" part of my contacts it is listing like 900 contacts. ALL the people I have EVER emailed from my gmail account. I really only need about 50 contacts in here that I call on a regular basis. Do I have to erase every contact in there and start over?

Let me explain : When I go on PEOPLE I see my contacts there , if I click on them I cant see any phone number or mail nothing it just show me the contact name then under the name I see DETAILS then INFORMATION and down I can read ringtone and send to voicemail and then last Edit. Why is that? I dont think is normal and honestly makes me really depressed coz I cant call normally.

My only issue so far is that even though I've selected in the People app only to display Google contacts there seems to still be Facebook contacts appearing, albeit only the ones who have entered phone numbers into their Facebook profile. This causes duplicate entries for the same person in messaging apps (default and Handcent) and in the People app it seems to prefer to show the Facebook contact details rather than the Google ones.

(Backup Assistant was not available for the Omnia)Anyway, on the home screen, if I click the bottom right contacts button, none of my contacts show up, even under the different categories. Nothing in google, nothing in phone contacts.However, if I click the bottom left button (phone icon), it brings up all of my contacts.How can I get this migrated over to the other contacts? I tried backup assistant and m:IQ, with no luck. Neither of them back up the contacts listed on the left icon list.Any help is appreciated.

Did a fresh install on my LG Optimus s phone.. and now cant import any contacts.. Its not displaying in contacts.. But if i go to text someone.. I type the first 3 letters and the full name and number displays. Just not in the contacts.. I accidentally upgraded my rooted froyo phone to gingerbread and hated I did it. got to wait til i can root it again. SO now im back to basic.. Does hard reset even revert to stock flash? Or you have to get technical in doing it?

I am using an activesync account with for my work email which syns calendar/contacts/email. For some reason every email address that i have ever sent an email to shows up as a contact.anyone else seen this or know how to resolve? all of my contacts are in there that i want but there are an additional 500+ "contacts" that are just email addresses that i have sent to through work.
View 5 Replies View Relatedupdated to official 2.1 update on Moment. Whenever I attempt to add contacts, they don't show unless I search. If I sync gmail, those contacts show, but then not even the ones I added manually show up, even by search. Maybe they were overwritten in the sync...o.k. So I add them again, they JUST DON'T SHOW UP. WTF is this crap. I like google and all but are we actually expected to only use gmail/google services to manage our contacts?
