I would like to be able to press one button that will bring up my contacts. Contacts meaning people that I call. When I get to the the "All" part of my contacts it is listing like 900 contacts. ALL the people I have EVER emailed from my gmail account. I really only need about 50 contacts in here that I call on a regular basis. Do I have to erase every contact in there and start over?

How come new contacts created on the phone are not showing up in my Gmail account online? Is there a way to keep everything synching in both directions? Most of my contacts are in Outlook, but I'm trying to use Gmail to keep things simple.

I heard that Android phones will automatically backup your phone contacts to gmail. I would prefer not to have my phone contacts anywhere but on my phone. How can I ensure that contacts I add to my phone do not get synced to gmail or other online service?

I checked her 4G contacts (view contacts boxes are all checked) and that specific contact is still missing while showing up on her desktop contacts. Out of curiousity, we checked both of our phones. Just from A-C alone, she is missing 23 contacts and I am missing 41 contacts. The contacts are there on our desktop contacts, but not on the 4G. I feel guilty since I was the one who talked her into changing from Blackberry. Her Head Nurse warned that she will have no tolerance for screw ups due to android phones. Apparently, she has same issues before with one of her RNs.

I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. I want to link all of my facebook contacts so they show up in my gmail contacts? Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. But alas, I cannot, as all of these Facebook contacts don't show up on the gmail list at all.

When my girlfriend got her Eris about 4-5 months ago Verizon was kind enough to copy her contacts from her Razor phone to her new Eris. However she now needs to return the phone for service (silent call bug) and she went to G mail to ensure all her contacts was backed up... they are not. It seems the contacts are stored on her phone (Eris) and not in g mail. How can we import all of her contacts from the phone memory into G mail?

I have a Droid 3. My Accounts include my main Gmail acct, a gmail acct I hardly ever use (no contacts issues there), a pop3 account and a Touchdown-Exchange account which I dont need because Im not connected to that Exchange server any longer. Some time ago, since I wasnt on the Exchange server any more, I deleted the Touchdown account. Then I realized some or most of my Google contacts had disappeared from the phone. Thinking that this would delete the same contacts from the Gmail servers when it synced, I immediately restored the Touchdown account, restoring the lost contacts to the phone. Are these 2 issues related?
I am using 2.3.5 android and my contacts are in google contacts. I have also added my facebook account and some contacts are synced between both accounts.I use titanium backup pro for my backups but I cannot restore the linked synced (after some reboots, the stop being synced)
Is there anyway to make and restore a backup if the sync contacts information) using titanium backup pro or other app?
Whenever I go into Gmail (I do not have push notification on, just check it every once in a while) it will say at the top "Inbox (2)", but then says "No Conversations" in the middle of the screen where it is supposed to list all the emails in my Inbox. I know that there are two in there because they are there whenever I check Gmail on my computer.I looked for an option in the Gmail settings in case it only shows unread mail, but can't find anything.If I navigate to a different label, it will show all the emails in them, just not the Inbox.It started out OK, but I just noticed it a day or so ago doing this.My father was messing around with my phone the other day, and I'm wondering if he did something?

My gmail is not showing new emails since sunday
all of my contacts are not assigned to any groups. i would like to delete all of them and re-import my sim contacts because all my gmail contacts are mixed in with my sim contacts on the phone. what i would like to do is clean off my phone contacts and re-import all my sim contacts so I don't have the google contacts cluttering up my phone contact list.

Until today, my gmail was working great (I use the gmail app). Then today, it just stopped working.
