I'm using Motorola Milestone version 2.1, update 1. Does anyone know how to stop the music player withour rebooting or killing the application? Since a pressed play on a song it keeps playing, I can pause it.

Potentially related to the Music Player exiting when I try to go "Home" or start up other apps. Anyway, let's say I'm using my headphones to talk to someone on the phone. The call ends and I take my headphones off and unplug them from the phone. Well, a podcast will begin playing in the Music Player!!! It may not even be the last one I was listening to.
Is there ever an update to this player? It's not very good and seems uncontrollable at times. Any substitutes that can be set as default players? I want to like this phone but there are SO MANY annoying glitches and non-obvious (to me, anyway) solutions that I'm definitely second-guessing my purchase.
I'm new here and also with the phone, it's a Motorola Milestone (or Droid.. I think they are the same), it only has 3 weeks i'm having a very strange and annoying problem, if someone can help i will really appreciate it, because it's making me crazy.When I add songs to the SD, the default Music Player the phone brings don't find them.. i tried a lot, configurations, folders, song names, song properties, etc etc.. but none of them worked.It didn't happen always, the first songs i added are there, and can be played normally, but if I add new ones they don't appear in the Music Player.Also the same happens if I add audio to the "notifications" or "ringtones" folder. the don't appear in the proper place to use them.I read somewhere in the forum that the music player have a limit of around 100mb to read music. but it's that true? any way of raising it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've bought a Milestone and after the first contact with him, copied some musics to a folder on SD card. The problem is: some songs does not appear on the player. Some musics do, some musics does not. I tried several players (Meridian, RockOn, TuneWiki) to see if this was an issue with the default player, but all of them showed the same problemI also thought that this could be a problem with the ID tags of the MP3 files that didn't show, so i checked every one with a MP3 tag editor and fixed some, but to no avail: the files still doesn't show on the list.Just one more detail: if I go to a file manager and "execute" the MP3 file, the music plays just correctly.Dows anyone has experienced some behavior like this, or I'm doing something wrong?Is there a way to add all files on a folder to a playlist without going one by one on a file manager?

Pete's just released an update.zip for his ROMS (but should work with any 2.0.1) that does some fixes and also introduces his port of the Milestone music player. It is completely stock 2.0.1 music player (buttons instead of tabs), but it does include this nice little feature. Unfortunately, there is no EQ, just 3D album scrolling for now.

Again, this is really annoying. I can't start up a podcast, then text/email someone. The music player exits.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently my music player has stopped updating what music I have/don't have on my memory stick. I deleted a few albums off my memory stick and added a couple, and it still shows the old album, (unable to play, says 'audio player does not support files of this type' or something like that) and it doesn't show the new music I put on there. I've restarted my device about 4 times, tried closing/reopening the music app.. I don't know what to do to clear this up. I'm running 2.1 (via WhiteWidow/Root if that matters) and music has never given me a problem before. The other music apps have the same problem, none of them seem to refresh.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use the bluetooth audio in my truck on my drive to and from every work every day with Iheartradio on. Every time I receive a call when I hang up my phone automatically starts the music player and just starts playing songs. It's extremely annoying. I even deleted all my music off the phone hoping this would stop it, and now it just plays ring tones. I've used an app killer, etc. and it still does it.

What I really want to do is use the Pandora app, but I can't because the music player (no matter which is loaded) wants to start, and no matter how many times I shut it down with app killer, it fires back up again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Milestone (DE Version from Amazon) size Christmas and have a annoying problem: Sometimes the Musik Player starts all by itself. Telephone is on standby in my pocket, then for no apperent reason the mp3 player goes off playing.
The same problem was reported here. I had this problem since FW 2.0. It happens maybe one per week, but is really annoying in meetings since the mp3 player app ignores ringer volume settings.
I too found that it happens a lot more if i just pull the audio jack plug to stop playback, but even so it happens from time to time...
I have Milestone but when I sign in Facebook or other website. I cannot see flash media. Especially I cannot view video on Facebook. Because of Flash Player. Finally is there any way to solve this problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am getting the following error when I try to play some song using the standard "Music" App: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file" So far I have only had this happen on .ogg files. I can play some .ogg files with no problem but other will not play. Often there is one I can play and one I can't from the same album which I ripped from my CD in the same ripping session so the encoding parameters should be the same. Another weird thing is that I sometime can succeed in playing a song by finding it in OI File Manager and selecting it there. OI File Manager opens in in the "Music" App and it plays not problem, but I cannot open it from within "Music" App!

View 1 Replies View RelatedHere's one that is going to confuse you all.My Milestone has taken to playing music by itself at random.It's not an alarm. It's not the music player being started either! At 0832 one day, music started blasting out while it was in the dock. Another time, it began when I removed headphones after watching a video (and returning to the home screen). Once it has started when I disconnected a Bluetooth car kit. I can adjust the volume but nothing else! I have to open the music player, and then it shows the music as paused - but it's still playing. To stop it, I must press play, then stop/pause again. And then it stops. It's happening maybe once every day or two, and is incredibly annoying. I just can't figure out what might be causing it. It MUST be an app that I've got running or have installed, but which one? Has ANYONE else had a similar problem, perhaps that they thought was just a one off glitch?
View 49 Replies View RelatedOk non-rooted droid. Using the stock media player it will not let me play a certain folder that I downloaded. I can not figure out why it will not play any of the songs on in that certain folder. I downloaded the whole disc set of a certain artist and this is the only folder that does it. I checked and every song is 317 kbps MP3 format. I have some music that I downloaded using iMusic and it is 320 kbps MP3 format, so I have deducted the bitrate as being the issue.

the problem is now when im going to my music i can see there all of the game BGM's there are like 200 of sounds effect and i barely can find my music in there.
is there any way to disable the game music display? so i can see only my music in the songs list?
Just like many of you, I'm running 2.0.1 (build 14) on my Milestone and I'm using it as a music player while in public transport. This works fine, if it wasn't for the horrible hiccups that occur everytime the network coverage either drops out or comes back.
Basically everytime this happens (H/3G/regular coverage makes no difference) my music freezes for 0.5-1s, making it a horrible listening experience, especially when you're in the subway or train. It appears that enabling flight mode does resolve this, but since it's also a phone (and internet device), this just doesn't seem like a solution to me.
The only reason I'm starting this thread because I haven't seen this issue on a Milestone thread, and no other threads seem to have an actual 100% solution for this...Most of the times I'm walking around with my Milestone, the music pops or the player pauses completely. I've tried different options (carrying it around inside my bag and not my pocket, for example), different WORKING headsets (including the Motorola ones) and even different players, but nothing solves the problem completly. I just want to make sure there are other options beside having to take it to maintenance (it's still under warranty).

I was listening to the music player and now can't get the program to shut down. It won't force close, I shut it down and pulled the battery, when it re-boots it comes on again and the whole system goes fubar. I can't make calls or anything.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use MediaMonkey to edit all of my mp3 files so that all my artist, album, year, track number, album art, etc is correct. Today I added an artist (Dub_Fx) with 2 albums and one single to my Droid; the single's album art showed, as well as one of the albums, but the other album's album art isn't showing at all, but I used the exact same method for all of the files. Each mp3 has an imbedded image file saved to the tag, each of them 350x350 images, and none of the mp3 files are protected either. Other programs on my computer show the album art correctly (and I've deleted the images from my computer, just to make sure they were saved to the tag and still show properly), but for some reason it won't show for that one album on the Droid's music player. I've even tried changing the album art to something else, copy over to the Droid, change the album art back, rewrite, and still nothing at all.
