Motorola Droid :: Milestone Music Player With Coverflow
Jan 31, 2010I already posted this in the Bugless thread, but I figured people who weren't interested in the ROM might still be interested in this. Pete's just released an update.zip for his ROMS (but should work with any 2.0.1) that does some fixes and also introduces his port of the Milestone music player. It is completely stock 2.0.1 music player (buttons instead of tabs), but it does include this nice little feature. Unfortunately, there is no EQ, just 3D album scrolling for now.

Apr 17, 2010Here's one that is going to confuse you all.My Milestone has taken to playing music by itself at random.It's not an alarm. It's not the music player being started either! At 0832 one day, music started blasting out while it was in the dock. Another time, it began when I removed headphones after watching a video (and returning to the home screen). Once it has started when I disconnected a Bluetooth car kit. I can adjust the volume but nothing else! I have to open the music player, and then it shows the music as paused - but it's still playing. To stop it, I must press play, then stop/pause again. And then it stops. It's happening maybe once every day or two, and is incredibly annoying. I just can't figure out what might be causing it. It MUST be an app that I've got running or have installed, but which one? Has ANYONE else had a similar problem, perhaps that they thought was just a one off glitch?

Aug 25, 2010Potentially related to the Music Player exiting when I try to go "Home" or start up other apps. Anyway, let's say I'm using my headphones to talk to someone on the phone. The call ends and I take my headphones off and unplug them from the phone. Well, a podcast will begin playing in the Music Player!!! It may not even be the last one I was listening to.
Is there ever an update to this player? It's not very good and seems uncontrollable at times. Any substitutes that can be set as default players? I want to like this phone but there are SO MANY annoying glitches and non-obvious (to me, anyway) solutions that I'm definitely second-guessing my purchase.
Motorola Milestone :: Music Player Don't Find Any Song
Jan 5, 2010I'm new here and also with the phone, it's a Motorola Milestone (or Droid.. I think they are the same), it only has 3 weeks i'm having a very strange and annoying problem, if someone can help i will really appreciate it, because it's making me crazy.When I add songs to the SD, the default Music Player the phone brings don't find them.. i tried a lot, configurations, folders, song names, song properties, etc etc.. but none of them worked.It didn't happen always, the first songs i added are there, and can be played normally, but if I add new ones they don't appear in the Music Player.Also the same happens if I add audio to the "notifications" or "ringtones" folder. the don't appear in the proper place to use them.I read somewhere in the forum that the music player have a limit of around 100mb to read music. but it's that true? any way of raising it?

Jan 14, 2010I've bought a Milestone and after the first contact with him, copied some musics to a folder on SD card. The problem is: some songs does not appear on the player. Some musics do, some musics does not. I tried several players (Meridian, RockOn, TuneWiki) to see if this was an issue with the default player, but all of them showed the same problemI also thought that this could be a problem with the ID tags of the MP3 files that didn't show, so i checked every one with a MP3 tag editor and fixed some, but to no avail: the files still doesn't show on the list.Just one more detail: if I go to a file manager and "execute" the MP3 file, the music plays just correctly.Dows anyone has experienced some behavior like this, or I'm doing something wrong?Is there a way to add all files on a folder to a playlist without going one by one on a file manager?

Sep 27, 2010I just bought the milestone and i installed some games on it like Heroes of Sparta and Need for speed shift on the SD Card.
the problem is now when im going to my music i can see there all of the game BGM's there are like 200 of sounds effect and i barely can find my music in there.
is there any way to disable the game music display? so i can see only my music in the songs list?
Motorola Milestone :: How Speaker On Milestone / Droid Gets Dirty?
May 3, 2010Did you guys notice how the speaker on the Milestone/Droid gets dirty, it's like a magnet for dust and lint, and once it's in there, it won't come out.I just found a little trick to clean it out:
1- Just grab a little amout of "fun-tak" or any other sticky putty.
2- Push it into the speaker hole, and the dust will come out with it when you remove it.
3- Rince and repeat
I was so glad to finally get it clean, that I had to share it.
Motorola Milestone :: Music Hiccups When Network Coverage Changes / Sort This?
Feb 17, 2010Just like many of you, I'm running 2.0.1 (build 14) on my Milestone and I'm using it as a music player while in public transport. This works fine, if it wasn't for the horrible hiccups that occur everytime the network coverage either drops out or comes back.
Basically everytime this happens (H/3G/regular coverage makes no difference) my music freezes for 0.5-1s, making it a horrible listening experience, especially when you're in the subway or train. It appears that enabling flight mode does resolve this, but since it's also a phone (and internet device), this just doesn't seem like a solution to me.

Sep 21, 2010The only reason I'm starting this thread because I haven't seen this issue on a Milestone thread, and no other threads seem to have an actual 100% solution for this...Most of the times I'm walking around with my Milestone, the music pops or the player pauses completely. I've tried different options (carrying it around inside my bag and not my pocket, for example), different WORKING headsets (including the Motorola ones) and even different players, but nothing solves the problem completly. I just want to make sure there are other options beside having to take it to maintenance (it's still under warranty).

Again, this is really annoying. I can't start up a podcast, then text/email someone. The music player exits.

Milestone: "Sorry The application email (process com.android.email) has stopped (unexpectedly) Please try again" followed by a "Force Close" button. This pops up dozens of times per day, causes no real problems that I'm aware of, but is pesky, as I have to keep tapping the 'Force Close" button all the time to make it go away (for a while).

The handset has been popping what this message for a couple days: The application Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I did not open Maps, nor Latitude on my phone. I did not root my phone, yet I this message pops up every 20 second, and is extremely annoying. I was only give "Force close" as the choice to end the message box. Nothing really happened after I click on "Force close" until the next same message pops up.

Aug 23, 2010I bought Milestone about 4 month ago. I am looking for a call record application for both incoming and outgoing calls bus so far I haven't found a working one. I tried total recall and phone recorder - didn't work. I know google voice have option to record incoming but not outgoing calls. I heard somewhere that Milestone have this option disabled by hardware anyone knows if this is true? Anyway if anyone can recommended a tested working record app (pay or free I dont care at this point).

Nov 1, 2010Milestone Overclock consists of a kernel module for OMAP3 phones with Android to unlock any processor frequency/voltage combination and a companion graphical app to ease the configuration. The phone must be rooted so that the kernel module can be loaded. The module has an interface in /proc/overclock/* that allows enabling and disabling of overclock in runtime without rebooting. No flashing of custom roms or kernels is needed, since that is not even possible with the Milestone, Droid X and others.

Jan 20, 2010I am using Motorola Milestone UK version with AT & T. G Mail and Yahoo etc work fine. Data plan also work perfect wih At&T 2G. AT&T 3 G can not use with Milestone because 3 G band of AT & T is not supoerted by Milestone.
However, real problem is that when I call anybody, he always finds my voice breaks on Milestone. When I switch to speaker they find my voice perfect. I can hear their voice clearly. Any body has same problem.
Secondly, I would like to dowload "Car Home" app which is available with Droid. It is not available in Market place. When I try to see how it is intsalled in my friend's droid, it shows 0 KB. Does this app is part of Android for Verizon. When I dock the phone in Car dock, as I dont have Car home app so phone does not pop up Navigation window which is part of Car Home. I can use Google Map manually. This is not big problem.
Motorola Milestone : Milestone 2.1 Airplain Mode - Drains Battery Faster Than Charge
Jun 14, 2010Here is something interesting about the Milestone. Enable Airplane mode, put it on the charger over night. Wake up to find your Milestone drained. This happens with my Blackberry Curve as well. Airplane mode drains the battery faster than its being charged. Has anyone else seen this? Or am i just getting lucky twice?

Feb 2, 2010My Motorola has begun to behave strangely. I think they lost the battery too quickly, so I have yesterday installed Netcounter and a Task Manager to see what it may be due.
Since yesterday, it downloaded 53 MB of data, including 28 MB today. It's too much, because I have hardly used it for anything but standby. There obviously mail pops up on it, but I read them on my PC. I have not used Google Maps, Web browsing or other things.
WiFi is off, but my battery is at 50% (this morning at 7:30 am, it was at 100% - now 4 hours later it's 50%).
Last night the Milestone was warm on the backside, but not where the battery is placed, but closer to where the sender/radio is placed.
Conclusion: Some programs must be running all the time,
1 hour ago I closed all programs using Task Manager.
But now, all these apps seems to be running (according to task manager):

Email (ikke google mail)

Why does all my programs start? And which are using the Internet?
I looked at settings -> about phone -> battery usage:
android.process.acore: 71%
Facebook: 6%
display 5%
Android system 5%
Phone idle 4%
Cell standby 3%
Google 3%
Android os 2%
Cell Standby should be >90% since I've not using the phone today.
Any ideas? Should I erase all and restart? Or is it because I have not updated yet (still running the 2.0 version from out of the box)
Motorola Milestone :: Gtalk - Gmail - Maps - Market - Email Using GPRS - EDGE On MileStone
Jun 10, 2010I am unable to use Gtalk, gmail, Maps, Market, Email (all pre installed) using GPRS/EDGE (Vodafone Live) on my Milestone. But All of these works with Wi-Fi connection. I installed Meeboo Messanger, this is also not working with GPRS/EDGE.
I called Motorola Customer care, they are saying that I have to take a DataPlan from Vodafone and should ask Vodafone to activate all GPRS/EDGE settings on my mobile. So I took a DataPlan (200 Rs. 100 MB), Vodafone People are saying that all available setting are already activated on my cell. But I am still unable to use any of them above. Every time no network connection found error is coming.
