View 13 RepliesIn my quest to have a 3G connection on my new Milestone I first tried to connect to the AdHoc network running on my iPad but I found out that Android phones couldn't connect to AdHoc networks (see Enabling WiFi Adhoc on Milestone ?)...I'm now finding out that they can't connect to Bluetooth modems either...is that correct ? I saw messages saying that PDAnet enabled BT DUN but that's probably only to let other devices connect. I put my iPad AT&T microSIM card in the Milestone using an adapter but Amazon sell the Euro version so it means no 3G in the USA, either with T-Mobile or AT&T.
View 9 Replies View RelatedCan one of you Milestone owners please tell me if you are able to use Bluetooth Voice Dialing since updating to 2.1? In other words, can you pair a BT headset, then hold or double-tap your headset button to initiate a voice call on the Milestone?
If so, how is it working? Is there software anywhere in your phone labeled 'Nuance'? Please let me know. If you could post a pic or vid of how this is working on the Milestone, that would be much appreciated.
According to Motorola, BT voice dialing was added to the Milestone in 2.1:

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just got the phone yesterday, and realized I can send contacts via SMS! I was using the hero before and you could easily do it via vcard. For example, I want to send Mr Jones a contact number of a client, I can easily SMS him through contacts the client's contact numbers(emails and whatnots). However, this feature seems lacking on the Milestone. You can attach just about everything else except a person's contacts!Did I overlook something here? Or it just doesn't come with it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is a silly issue, but its now driving me to distraction, My Jawbone pairs & connects without an issue, however I have a Nokia6822, & Blue & Me in my car, the Milestone will pair but not connect to either of these devices ( phone is on V2.1) even after entering verify code on each device ( The car generates a unique code for each device to be paired with it). Also the make device discoverable is only open for 120 seconds, is there a reason for this ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Blueant V1 bluetooth headset and everytime the milestone sleeps [screen auto goes off] my bluetooth will disconnect shortly after that. If I keep the screen on the connection seems fine. I don't see a setting that causes bluetooth to go off when on sleep like WIFI does.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on an Android 2.0 project that is going to be used in a somewhat remote location. There will be no internet connection available and it will be used outside of the U.S. I am considering the option of using an external Nokia or similar GPS device as a GPS receiver/transmitter and connecting to it for use in my application via bluetooth.I am looking for opinions on whether or not this is even possible, if someone out there has attempted it or if someone has a suggestion for some other external device that would be more fitting.Link to possible external GPS device:

Has anyone else experienced this, when i try to use my bluetooth headset the phone after a few minutes switches itself off (yes i did try a search!). In addition to that people have been telling me that they can hear my voice breaking up a lot more since switching to this phone.
I'm really surprised that for such a high end device it's pretty naff for basic phone calls. I love it for everything but using it as a phone. My Hero was much clearer and BB Bold clearer still and neither of which had problems with Bluetooth.
I got a Milestone at about Christmas time and have loved it, but now I have one slight issue with it. I can't send a text message, and whenever I attempt to send a message, it simply comes back saying "Message Not Sent". It is highly frustrating.I have been into the Phone Information, under Testing, and it says that my GSM Disconnects is inactive, and the fail is because No Error. This is frustrating and I have no idea how to fix the Problem. This is my last resort before I call my service provider and see what I can do, and I would much rather solve this myself.Any help would be highly appreciated,

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere's one that is going to confuse you all.My Milestone has taken to playing music by itself at random. It's not an alarm. It's not the music player being started either! At 0832 one day, music started blasting out while it was in the dock. Another time, it began when I removed headphones after watching a video (and returning to the home screen). Once it has started when I disconnected a Bluetooth car kit. I can adjust the volume but nothing else! I have to open the music player, and then it shows the music as paused - but it's still playing. To stop it, I must press play, then stop/pause again. And then it stops. It's happening maybe once every day or two, and is incredibly annoying. I just can't figure out what might be causing it. It MUST be an app that I've got running or have installed, but which one? Has ANYONE else had a similar problem, perhaps that they thought was just a one off glitch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedPotentially related to the Music Player exiting when I try to go "Home" or start up other apps. Anyway, let's say I'm using my headphones to talk to someone on the phone. The call ends and I take my headphones off and unplug them from the phone. Well, a podcast will begin playing in the Music Player!!! It may not even be the last one I was listening to.
Is there ever an update to this player? It's not very good and seems uncontrollable at times. Any substitutes that can be set as default players? I want to like this phone but there are SO MANY annoying glitches and non-obvious (to me, anyway) solutions that I'm definitely second-guessing my purchase.
I'm new here and also with the phone, it's a Motorola Milestone (or Droid.. I think they are the same), it only has 3 weeks i'm having a very strange and annoying problem, if someone can help i will really appreciate it, because it's making me crazy. When I add songs to the SD, the default Music Player the phone brings don't find them.. i tried a lot, configurations, folders, song names, song properties, etc etc.. but none of them worked. It didn't happen always, the first songs i added are there, and can be played normally, but if I add new ones they don't appear in the Music Player. Also the same happens if I add audio to the "notifications" or "ringtones" folder. the don't appear in the proper place to use them.I read somewhere in the forum that the music player have a limit of around 100mb to read music. but it's that true? any way of raising it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've bought a Milestone and after the first contact with him, copied some musics to a folder on SD card. The problem is: some songs does not appear on the player. Some musics do, some musics does not. I tried several players (Meridian, RockOn, TuneWiki) to see if this was an issue with the default player, but all of them showed the same problemI also thought that this could be a problem with the ID tags of the MP3 files that didn't show, so i checked every one with a MP3 tag editor and fixed some, but to no avail: the files still doesn't show on the list.Just one more detail: if I go to a file manager and "execute" the MP3 file, the music plays just correctly.Dows anyone has experienced some behavior like this, or I'm doing something wrong? Is there a way to add all files on a folder to a playlist without going one by one on a file manager?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI already posted this in the Bugless thread, but I figured people who weren't interested in the ROM might still be interested in this. Pete's just released an update.zip for his ROMS (but should work with any 2.0.1) that does some fixes and also introduces his port of the Milestone music player. It is completely stock 2.0.1 music player (buttons instead of tabs), but it does include this nice little feature. Unfortunately, there is no EQ, just 3D album scrolling for now.
View 47 Replies View RelatedI just bought the milestone and i installed some games on it like Heroes of Sparta and Need for speed shift on the SD Card.
the problem is now when im going to my music i can see there all of the game BGM's there are like 200 of sounds effect and i barely can find my music in there.
is there any way to disable the game music display? so i can see only my music in the songs list?
Just like many of you, I'm running 2.0.1 (build 14) on my Milestone and I'm using it as a music player while in public transport. This works fine, if it wasn't for the horrible hiccups that occur everytime the network coverage either drops out or comes back.
Basically everytime this happens (H/3G/regular coverage makes no difference) my music freezes for 0.5-1s, making it a horrible listening experience, especially when you're in the subway or train. It appears that enabling flight mode does resolve this, but since it's also a phone (and internet device), this just doesn't seem like a solution to me.
The only reason I'm starting this thread because I haven't seen this issue on a Milestone thread, and no other threads seem to have an actual 100% solution for this...Most of the times I'm walking around with my Milestone, the music pops or the player pauses completely. I've tried different options (carrying it around inside my bag and not my pocket, for example), different WORKING headsets (including the Motorola ones) and even different players, but nothing solves the problem completly. I just want to make sure there are other options beside having to take it to maintenance (it's still under warranty).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI find now that the music player exits when I press either the "Home" or "Menu" buttons at the bottom of the phone if I want to run another application while listening to a song/podcast. Again, this is really annoying. I can't start up a podcast, then text/email someone. The music player exits.
