I'm looking for a way to make the font smaller in they keyboard entry field. I've searched around but have been unsuccessful in finding anyone who's done such a thing before. I have made the font smaller within conversations using handcent, but the keyboard entry field remains elusive. The app spareparts has and option to shrink the overall font, but that setting within that program does not function on the droid x.

I am new to Android, so please bear with me. It so happens that whenever I open the physical keyboard I can only type Arabic characters. I have tried unselecting the arabic language and changing between "motorola keyboard" and "Mobidiv keyboard" to no avail. It does not happen with the on-screen keyboard, that one is working fine. Its ridiculous, I am writing just fine on-screen, I open the keyboard and the Arabic characters start appearing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was smsing this morning on my HTC Hero using the normal virtual keyboard that came with the phone. But all of a sudden, the keyboard changed into something different.
The keys became smaller, the number keys are with the alphabet keys(on top), and there is an extra key to toggle to tamil(?) characters. And when I type, there is no more 'feedback' from the screen. The auto correct feature is gone too. how to get my old virtual keyboard back?
This is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
Anyone know of a widget that shows the battery life in smaller increments, preferably 1% increments.
i have "Batterylife" But it only tells you every 10% which is annoying to me.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.
The app is still in development.

I have busybox installed as well as root access.
I want to change the font of the Stock Android 4.2.2 keyboard and the default bold font of all the widgets on the launcher homescreen.
I have no clue which font maps to which so I simply went to Font Installer's preferences menu and selected any font with a "-bold" suffix to be replaced. All I ended up with was a boot loop.
Or is there something in addition to this that I should be doing before attempting a reboot? And what font am I actually supposed to change?
Any hope of them adding an app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around with metamorph, and thank the members here for pointing me in the right direction to find the themes I am currently running the I.C.E. theme by tdawg. Everything applied correctly on top of Sholes 2.0.5, without messing up any performance tweaks. Only thing that did NOT apply(no surprise) is the font in the screenshots. I'd like to have this font- it is the same in the Droidinator theme and a few others I have seen screenshots of. So my question is.. where to I find this font, and how do I apply it(Hopefully through a terminal emulator since that is all I have set up so far)?

Its a .ttf file on my desktop, I copied it and renamed both copies to DroidSans & DroidSans-Bold put them on my sd card and put in the system/fonts folder using root explorer. Reboot and it bootloops or gets stuck on the M.
I was wondering if there is any application or setting I can put on my droid that will make the text larger when viewing the details of a contact.

I am headed to Bonnaroo and I am sure I'll be using the phone a lot so I was looking at the smaller portable chargers that run off of AA batteries. Figuring I'll need a mid day charge so I want a smaller one to throw in my pack.
I'm shopping for a cheap used droid for verizon and think I have it narrowed down to the eris or droid 1. I really like the eris for the price, however the droid has a lot of perks too like bigger higher res screen, more modern cpu, and improved battery life. I plan to root either device. What do you guys think, will I be disappointed with an eris? Is the smaller lower res screen bad for browsing? Can I expect to leave the wifi radio on all day for voip without too much in the way of battery life problems?
