View 18 RepliesThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
I've been playing with the K9 Email app as a replacement for the stock program. I rather like it, but there is a deal breaker. On my secondary gmail account (not the one the Eris is set up with, but another one that I set up in K9) the font size in the message is so tiny I can't see it. I've searched the options over and over to find a setting to increase the font size, but apparently I can't find it. Would any of you happen to know where it is?

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes the Nexus One allow larger font sizes for email for old, tired eyes? With the move to Verizon I am considering trying one out. I already have three phones on Verizon so adding a fourth would be easy enough. I actually had the T-Mobile version but radio performance was horrid (no signal in places where an unlocked iPhone was able to make calls) and I'm hoping that on the Verizon network the radio issues will be solved. I don't remember having trouble with email, but I had the phone for such a short time (under a day) I can't remember if I had email issues.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if I will be able to increase the email font size on the Incredible? I have BB Storm 2 and can't wait to get rid of it. I tried and returned the Droid because I don't want to put my reading glasses on every time I get an email or text. I have talked to several Android 2.1 users who tell me that this can be done, but not a single one has been able to show me that it can be done.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs much as I wanted to use the native Gmail app, the font size was just too small (seems like a common Android problem except in the browser). To remedy this I simply configured my Gmail (actually Google Apps) account as an IMAP account with the regular Android Mail. Here, font size is fully scalable (about six selections) and they apply to both reading email to typing new email. This will have to do until someone fixes the dedicated Gmail app font size. On the positive side, this actually works better in receiving email sent to the phone as it was definitely NOT full push with the Gmail app as it's supposed to be. Having them both setup it's easy to see that mail arrives much faster with the regular IMAP mail app than with the Gmail, which is really odd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to increase the font on my menus, settings, and for the general overall OS system. I realize I can add apps like Handcent that will allow me to do it for things like SMS/MMS. But I also would like to have a way to just increase the font for everything else. After coming over to the Eris from several other smartphones where the font could be adjusted, I'm concerned that I havent found a way on the Eris.
And no, I am not looking for answers such as, "Put on your reading glasses". LOL. I'm hoping I'm just overlooking a simple setting, and maybe an easy app that I can get thru The Market ?
Is there a way to change the font size in the stock messaging app? id like mine to be smaller.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two devices - HTC Tattoo and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. One has 145 DPI, the other 245 DPI.
When I specify font size for a TextView in points, like this:
CODE:...................
I get different physical size of text on these two devices. On 245 DPI, the text is barely readable.
Now, "pt" size is supposed to be physical. I.e., in my test, both text blocks should have letters of the same physical height. Which is not the case.
