Motorola Droid X :: Separate Photo And Video Gallery
Oct 18, 2010Is there a way that when you take a picture it goes to gallery and when you take a video it goes to video? I dont want them mixed with my camera roll.

Motorola CLIQ : Separate Folders In The Photo Gallery
Mar 26, 2010Ive tried help that i found online, as in hooking up to computer and adding folders, but still, if i go to the gallery i have 2 folders regardless. "my pics" and "all pics". it doesnt show any folders. if i snap a pic itll be in "my pics", any other pic i add just goes into "all pics". this is frustrating as i want it neat and easily navigated... not going thru every picture i have.

Nov 14, 2009I just got my new Droid phone 2 days ago. Great phone! But I have many things to learn. I have a question about the saved pictures. Why is it that when I open my photo gallery there are more than just the "all photos" folder. Seems when I take a picture, or save one off the Internet or transfer the pics off my old phone,that it makes a new folder for each different set of pics and puts all the pics in the "all pictures"folder. Is there any way I can just have the "all pictures" folder as the only one?

May 6, 2010I want to develop an android photo gallery application. In which user should allow to select multiple images from the gallery and then user have to click submit button. When the user clicks the submit button then the selected images should be copped to a different folder.

Jul 19, 2010I'm having problems trying to use files after moving them.
Example:
I took a bunch of pictures at an event, the created a folder for that event and moved the pictures into it. I can still open the pictures one at a tiem by navigsting too them, but the galleary app still shows the thumbs, but cannot find them.
Example 2:
I downloaded an mp3 for a ring tone, and while in the downloads folder the music player found it and I was able to set it at a ring tone. But I tried to create a ringtones folder, and then music could not find it, and just playing it by opening the file would not allow me to set a ring tone.
So how does this work? I have seen references here to folders called Media and ring tones, but I see nothing like that in the file system on my phone. Where does one put music if they want to actually use the music player?
Is the DCIM folder the ONLY one that works with the photo gallery? Is the Downloads folder the ONLY one that works with the music player?

Jul 19, 2010I put the movie Hot Tub Time Machine (.avi) onto my Droid X. Plugged the DX into my computer, selected USB on the phone, and went into DCIM -> Camera -> and dropped Hot Tub Time Machine into there. Now when I play it on my phone it freezes after like 4 secs and the sound goes off.
However, when I go into "edit video" on my phone, I can watch the entire thing with the edit panel and everything. Weird huh? But it wont let me watch it correctly by hitting "play"?

I got saving working, and now I want to automatically refresh so they don't have to turn off their phone before it shows up in the gallery. I googled around and saw this: sendBroadcast(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED, Uri.parse(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() ))); I tried doing that, but it didn't refresh for me. Does anyone have any ideas?

May 19, 2010After the 2.1 OTA a lot of random photos were thrown in my photo album under separate files, I think one is named something like keyboard...and another one called icons maybe. They are just screen shots of the swype keyboard. I tried to delete them after I dl'd the Nexus Gallery (which is awesome btw thank you Androzoid) but they just came back. Has anyone else had this happen? I haven't tried to delete them yet straight from the SD card to see if that works. Is it okay to delete these or do they serve some purpose?

Found this topic on the Droid forum. I find it pretty interesting and pretty interesting that the Eris can keep up with the Droid and that no flash isn't as big of an issue as you would think.
Might change some minds if the flash feature is something you thing is big when deciding between Eris and Droid.

Jun 19, 2010When I use my camera, camcorder, or just open up picture gallery or vid my phone will just restart, no clue why. I told tmobile that and she said it could be my SIM so I get a new one and that doesn't help. I'm about ready to call them and get a new one through my warranty.

May 9, 2010I've made folders and added pics to the sd card while i had it in my computer but the stock photo app won't recognize the folders but it does see the pics and puts them in both the stock folders (All Photos, Camera Shots).
Why can't the stock photo app (photos) recognize the folders I put on my sd card? I'm fairly tech. savvy but can't figure this photo app file structure for the life of me! Is there a photo/camera app that asks where and what folder I want camera pics to be saved too?
