I have been trying to figure it out for a month now and still cant figure it out. I'm sure there's a way to do since it has a album section...

Is there a way to NOT have videos and movies in the Gallery?
Also, when I download pics from emails and whatever, they end up by themselves in the Gallery. Can I auto save them to a special folder or something?
I was hoping for folder/subfolder style navigation... instead, it's just a mess of subfolders with no hierarchy or structure at all.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just transferred a bunch of pictures (over 2000) from my ipod to my mytouch 4g slide. I had them all in neat little albums on the ipod and i would like to do the same on my phone. Problem is i cant figure out how, other than putting the files into separate folders on my sd card, which i don't like because i like to have a general folder of all of them together with separate albums for specific things, and sometimes a picture would go into more than one album. Is there an app or a way to do this on my phone, I don't mind if the app creates copies of my pictures as long as the original files are left untouched. And is there a way to organize my pictures by name rather than date? Because when I transferred them it don't keep date it was added but rather the date i copied it, and when organized by name its correct because of the numbers in the file name.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a droidx 2. I am trying to create a photo album to send to friends. I tried to figure it out on my own and it shows a little icon that made an album, and I have supposedly inserted photos into it, but when I click on it, it doesn't show the pictures in the album. So I don'tdont even know if they are in there or what. how to send it via email if possible. I have the entire droidx 2 64-pg manual downloaded to my device, and none of it says anything about albums.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm sure it's been asked before but are there any good alternatives to the default Gallery/Albums app?
I have a T-Mobile G2 (HTC Hero) on 1.5 at the moment and the Albums app is such a frustration. I really can't see why the developers didn't figure out a way of navigating a tree structure?
Currently I have a lot of photos and they are stored on the SD card under a directory for year (eg 2007) then a directory for month (eg 03_march) then a directory for the event/place. It's how I store them on the desktop. Of course, the Albums app simply shows me every single directory with photos in, so I lose the ability to navigate by year/month/etc.
I know that Astro file explorer can do what I want, but the image viewer it has is limited and simply not as nice as the Album app, and the thumbnails are too small. Am I alone in NOT wanting to see hundred and hundreds of "albums" but rather see my photos stored how *I* want them stored?
Is anyone else having a problem viewing photos on Facebook using the browser? When I open a friend's album it shows the thumbnails and once I click on a picture it brings up a (flash looking) photo viewer window. This doesn't allow you comment, like, or view comments on the pictures. Is there a different way to view these, am I missing something?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an android razr M and all my photos go to an album that I never make.
For example,
when I save a photo from Facebook, it goes into a album called "facebook"
when I take a photo, it goes into an album called "camera"
when I save a photo that I received through text it goes to an album called "messaging"
when I edit a photo it goes into an album called "edit"
I never made these albums, and I don't choose where the photos go. How can I create albums, and how do I put the photos I take/save into the album I want?
however when i go in to albums they are not showing as separate folders just all together (over 200 images) do i need to save them somewhere else to get them to show up as separate folders/albums?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a 3 year stint with Windows Phone I've come back to Android with the purchase of a Galaxy S4, however the transition back hasn't been entirely smooth.
how android organizes the photo gallery. Doesn't matter the app, they all seem to organize in a similar way - find all folders with photos in it, list every folder as a separate album. That's great, but I don't want that.
On my Lumia 920 I had my photos organized like this. And on the device, they show up like this:I have folders with only subfolders as content. And they retain this organization in the photo viewer. I cannot find a single app that does this. I've tried Scalado, QuickPic, Just Pictures, Android ICS Gallery, Samsung Gallery, Customization Android 3D Gallery - nothing.
Is this just how the media scanner works? Any way to organize into subfolders within a gallery app? Is there any app that allows me to custom define my own setup? I wouldn't mind having to configure a text file to my setup, I just want it organized.
This is how BB, iOS, WP, and almost every other mobile OS organizes photos. The application F-Stop Media Gallery on the android marketplace allows the construction of custom albums. Although you cannot specify covers for the empty albums containing sub-albums, I've found a decent workaround.
With sub-albums looking like this. In order to get some form of album cover, you need images in the folder. However it will take the top 4 images and use those, so if you want a phone for the whole cover you'll need to split it up into 4 quadrants. Or just do 1 image and deal with it being small. Also, albums within other albums don't take on covers for some reason. I contacted the device and he said this was intentional but they were looking to change this in the future.
Albums need to be manually defined, which is a tad irritating but it works alright once you have it set up.
When I try to use Sense to view photo albums for one friend, it shows that they have zero photo albums. The official facebook app does the same. If I use the browser to visit her profile, I can see her numerous photo albums easily, but damnit! I want the software to work like it's designed and this little bug seems so bizarre. As far as I can tell, the missing albums bug only applies to this one friend. I would be able to easily overlook the bug except that one friend is my fiancee.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo one of the features I really liked about my iPhone, and my windows phone devices was that I could simply go into my gallery app, and view my Fb albums right from the device. I recently got on with t-mobile, and purchased a Samsung Galaxy SII which I love in most respects..
BUT
The gallery only displays the photos I take, but I want all my fb albums displayed too... how do I accomplish this? Is there an app I can download, settings I can change, voodoo rituals I need to perform??....
I don't remember how I did it, but I was somehow able to upload all the photos that I've taken with the camera to Picasa. Now I have quite a few videos in there as well, but I do remember a message saying that videos are not supported by Picasa and that only the photos would be uploaded. I'm now trying to do the same thing, but whenever I choose the entire 'Camera' folder to upload to Picasa, the only 'Share' options are YouTube, Gmail, and Bluetooth. Does anyone know how I may have done that the first time, or a way to sync photos from the gallery to Picasa web albums?

When the user clicks the submit button then the selected images should be copped to a different folder.
If any one knows this please help me how to do it. If possible please share the code. Or give some URL so that i can get some useful information.
My application needs to import some photos from Gallery. Indeed, the application groups several persons. I want to attach a photo picked from Gallery to each person. Do I need to develop a activity like edit Contacts? This involves developing the display of images in a grid. Or can I use a provider or something-like to avoid to develop a Gallery-like with memory leak?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an application where I want to have the ability for the user to save one of the photos they are viewing to their phone locally. I got saving working, and now I want to automatically refresh so they don't have to turn off their phone before it shows up in the gallery. I googled around and saw this: sendBroadcast(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED, Uri.parse(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() ))); I tried doing that, but it didn't refresh for me. Does anyone have any ideas?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is a pics app that will cover all my needs on my Desire. Currently running both the Nexus1 Gallery and the default HTC Photos. Both have good and bad points.
HTC Photos
Good:
-Only shows my pics, not the album art and ebook art stored elsewhere on SD
-Has a simple Facebook pics option
-Uploads direct to Picasa/FB,etc
Bad:
-No Picasa albums viewable (most of my pics are on Picasa)
-Cant multi tag pics (needed for doing bulk uploads/shares)
Nexus1 Gallery
Good:
-Beautiful interface!
-Shows Picasa galleries automatically
-Has multi-tag
-Uploads direct to Picasa/FB,etc
Bad:
-Shows EVERYTHING on my sd card, and has no option to remove pics/directories
-No basic editing options (crop, rotate, etc as the HTC app has)
-No Facebook albums display
I am trying to simply load just the contact photo of all my contacts and display them in a gallery.widget. Do I create a query? I was trying simply just to do People.loadcontactphoto but was getting errors....Any easy way to do this?
