View 5 RepliesI just switched from i Phone 4 to Droid X. Very exciting, since not only I have to learn how to use it but also I need to optimize the phone as well. (So much to do, I was bored with i Phone 4 ) So far battery life is not that great, drops 10 % every hour or 2 without heavy duty. (is this normal?) But yeah my question is every time I unlock the screen,(so when the screen wakes up) the notification light blinks with blue/red color. Is that normal? I checked Motorola, it wasn't on the manual.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn cyanogenmod settings under input settings there is an option for always pulse. Unfortunately for us this option is grayed out because it refers to the trackball. It does also work for the led light on our phones though. I much prefer my LED to blink when I have a notification even when the screen is on because if I am doing something that takes up the entire screen I otherwise may not notice the notification. Bugs me that this option is grayed out in CM6 so I decided to find a way around it.
So what I did is pulled the cmparts.apk from CM6 RC2 for the Nexus One. You can download it here.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7223192/CMParts.apk
Just make sure you put it on your computer in the directory that you will be running adb from.
Then reboot into recovery and mount /system
Then go on your computer and ADB.
Then adb push cmparts.apk /system/app
Then reboot. You will now have the option in cyanogenmod settings to always pulse. You will also have the option to Trackball Wake and Trackball unlock although these options will not do anything.
I'm occasionally getting an alert from the app Blink that tells me i'm running low on memory. What exactly does this mean? Are too many apps running, or is too much simply installed?
How do I go about reviewing the memory being used, and then how to free some up? What amount or % of memory should be free?
I gave my wife my D2, did a factory reset on it beforehand. She's been playing on it now for almost a week with no problem until today..
It started off with her gallery, when you try to go into the gallery it will kick you right back out into the launcher. I can use astro to get to her pics but any pics she takes now won't work. So then she went into her messaging app, all it does is cycle, it won't load up any messages at all.. I really don't know what's wrong with it, trying to avoid a factory reset if I can, but I will if it's my only option.
I have BB 0.4 with blue energy theme and chevy 1.1 lv kernel. Along with Launcher Pro. Normally the notification LED will blink when i get a text while doing normal stuff or nothing at all. But when i am gaming the LED doesnt blink. Has any one have a problem with this? Also, when i open a message from the notification bar instead of the message box in the dock. The dock still displays the number of messages unread even after reading it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a stock droid x. When i press the power button to lock my screen and put it to sleep when im done using my phone sometimes i get a constantly blinking blue led like im receiving an incoming call. This only happens when the phone is locked or on standby. A simple phone rest fixes this. I used a task killer and killed one app at a time thinking mabey one of my apps is causing this problem but even after killing all apps it still blinks. Any one else have or had this issue ? Any fix ideas. I have did a simple turn off the phone and it fixes it temporarily. I have also did a battery pull. Id hate to do a master reset.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bb v1 2.1 rom with the nextheme. I miss the blue smoked glass theme i had with the bbv8. When i applied it i can not recieve calls, just keep gettign a forced close error message. I assume it is not compatable. Anyway, been looking but have not found anything yet. The blue theme i had included a "battery" icon that changed color and a blue signal meter. Also it had a acutal satilete icon in the notification panel.
View 2 Replies View Relatedcan someone tell me why it is there and how to get rid of it! I've called VZW and of course they dont know what it is.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI made this for myself. It is not an approved theme. It is put together different then the others I have put out (for 2.2.2).Please check the Change log at the bottom of pics. I just booted it on 2.2.2 and am up and running fine so far.It is still in the testing faze. Do not apply this and then cry to the guys at Fission about problems.Do read the change log before applying. Its the same theme I always like with a little lighter application. It does not have a base in black out any longer. The base was taken from one of the direct 2.2.2 download themes.

All of a sudden my notify light displays a constant blue light when the phone is put to sleep. I've uninstalled Chomp and I do not have any social networking apps installed nor do I have accounts synced to the phone. All messages on my phone have been read.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLong story short: on my way to vegas my girlfriend was browsing the web on my droid x and the led turned a solid blue. The only app I have that turns the led blue is blink but I have it set to flash blue for incoming and missed calls, however, I didn't have any missed calls and there were no notifications in the tray.

To install:
1. Unistall ESPN scorecenter if already on your phone.
2. Download blue scorecenter and place on sdcard.
3. Install using astro or another file manager.
Note: The market will recognize this app and should promote you if there is an update available in the future. Updating the app will probably revert it back to stock red.

I made a custom blue Droid battery icon(based on Manigma77's "3Dbattery" icon). I just changed the color. It is part of my setup shown in this thread: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/47148-learning-experience-care-share-yours.html
There has been enough interest in it that I figured I would post it up for those of you who would like to have it It is a Metamorph file and easy to apply. Here is what it looks like:
Of course the icon changes with battery status as it should Here is the file:
Any idea if this could cause battery issues? I usually drive my car every day but I've never had anything like this stupid charger with a light that is PERMANENTLY on. My cigarette lighter port is powered 100% of the time, even when the car is turned off, locked, etc.
This also seems like a theft issue to me... it's just a stupid charger but that won't stop them from thinking "OMG SHINY BLUE LIGHT, MUST BE FANCY STUFF INSIDE!!!"
Any way to turn it off other than breaking it?
Ok, I tried looking around for an answer but can't seem to find one. Anyone know what it means when there's a blue status bubble on the google talk application? Does this mean that the person is chatting? I'm confused and you people is smart
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had no clue what it was until I checked the nav bar, and saw it was a facebook update. Wow, I thought, maybe they fixed the facebook app in the background without forcing me to update. Haven't seen the blue light since, and it has been 2 days and 7-9 notifications later.
Any idea when they will fix the facebook app? Or better yet, any idea how I got it to light up once randomly? It was somebody posting a comment on my wall post fyi (and the notifications still don't refresh in the app itself). Also, why can't I view linked youtube videos from other peoples comments? Obviously the droid can use youtube, so it seems odd that they wouldn't let you watch posted videos.
Did you pull the blue tab to remove the clear protective backing between phone and keyboard? My D1 didn't have the tab, I did pull the backing off, and always regretted it as it felt smoother/firmer with it on. What did you guys do - remove or not, and any regrets if you removed it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMobile phone. I bought it year and a half ago, and have changed operating systems few times (custom roms). Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?
Has anybody found a way to make the trackball blink for various other notifications other than SMS and eMail? I use google talk all the time and I would love to have the trackball light blink slowly (just like the normal alert for a waiting SMS message) when I receive a google talk message that I haven't read. Or how about gMail? They light up the notification led blinking green but there is no trackball notification. I'm actually quite surprised there doesn't seem to be any setting I can find to make the trackball blink for various notifications. My phone's already rooted so that should expand my options but I haven't found anybody that's done this yet.

I had my phone charging for a few hours, and out of the blue, it starts playing one of the many mp3s I have on the phone from the loud speaker. When I got to the phone, The home screen was normal. I held the home button to see what apps were recently opened and none of them were music related. I hadn't even listened to any mp3s on the device in days.
