(Sharp SH930W - Japan smartphone) I can't find the way to root my phone and of course I can't install ROM (if available) for this phone too . I know that this is not a famous smartphone but it running Android 4.1.1 and have all the standard apps, the phone is quite powerful itself (dual core, 2Gb RAM, 5inch IGZO screen).
If there is noway to root it, perhaps to toggle fullscreen mode (hide status bar, bottom bar). I tried many app on CHPlay but all of them for rooted device or older Android version.
I know the X isn't out yet but maybe someones been playing with one. Is there an easy way to toggle the 3G on the X? Like for the Eris theres a widget or you can hold down the power button.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have an issue where if they toggle GPS off using the power widget, then goes back to re-enable the GPS, the GPS doesn't quite work right. I saw this yesterday the GPS was all wacky and GN wouldn't lock but maps would. I restarted the phone, and it worked great. I see this from time to time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you're like me and you set up your Google Voice as a new number but everyone knows your old number, you find that you'll use your regular number for calls most of the time but every now and then you'll want to call out with your GV number. There's an easy way to do that! From a home screen: Add -> Shortcuts -> Toggle Google Voice
Now you have a "switch" on your home screen that lets you switch between calling from your regular number and your GV number with one press.
Had to remove it from my home screen and now can't find it for the life of me. Where is it? Found it. Touch and hold on screen/ Widgets/ scroll down to WiFi toggle.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of a 3g toggle widget on the market like the one on the incredible? I live in a horrible reception area and my dx gets hot and gets a lot of battery drain searching for 3g. I noticed my incredibles battery life improved vast amounts when I turned the 3g off when I'm not using data.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently flashed the Cyanogenmod 6.0.0-RC3 ROM onto my Moto Droid, and also installed a Simple Black Bar theme from their forum. Now, my Weahter and Toggle Widget app doesn't show up on the list of widgets when I long press my screen. I reinstalled it, and it worked, but then any time after that when I reboot my phone or unplug it from my computer, it will fail to load, and again won't show up on the widget list. Is this a bug in RC3? How can I go about fixing this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been happily using Weather & Toggle widget since getting my Droid a few months ago. All of a sudden though it will not refresh the weather or forecast. This is true even if I do a forced refresh. I have also tried removing the clock/weather widget from my screen and re-adding it. No luck. It remains stuck on yesterday's high of 80 degrees and sunny. Considering its cloudy about about 65 today this is clearly wrong. It was showing 80/sunny at 5am this morning when it was still dark!
Also, in the 4 day forecast section you get by tapping the weather portion of the widget, it starts with Tuesday. It should start with today, Wednesday. This is by far my favorite app/widget so far but its completely useless if it remains stuck like this.
I installed the "Data Toogle" app and tried it out this morning for the first time. Well when I got home, I attempted to re-enable my 3g internet and it won't connect, even the 3g icon is not in the status bar.My Droid is with Page Plus if that helps. Can someone please help me out with this. I searched Google non-stop and the only information I find is how to turn off data.
View 25 Replies View RelatedAlright guys, please bear with me as I'm new to the Droid, Android, and GPS capability in my phone. I downloaded Beautiful Widgets (totally awesome, by the way) and I just want to confirm how the GPS toggle widget works since it seems to just be a shortcut to a setting in the OS as opposed to the wifi and Bluetooth toggle widgets which do their own thing. When you tap the GPS toggle widget it, it takes you the "location & security settings" part of the OS settings. I'm assuming that at this point you either check/uncheck the "Use GPS satellites" to turn on/off the GPS chip in this phone? Can I leave it unchecked and just before I need to get some directions or navigation, turn it back on? What I'm getting at is: Can I turn it on and off according my need for it at any given moment?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i had my 2.01 rooted with super permisions, but never got around to installing busy box, custom recovery and all that stuff, i just couldn't figure it out. then i updated to 2.1 and my super permissions is still in the apps, but its pretty clear the root isn't working for me. i looked up how to root 2.1 and the guides say if i upgraded my root from 2.01 to 2.1 and try to 2.1 root it could mess things up. so my question is.. what can i do to "re root" my droid. so i can install a custom os?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a big fan of Toggle Settings but my one wish would be that it could toggle GPS. From what I understand, the security of Android doesn't allow any app to turn GPS on/off. My question is, since installing Mobile Defense as a system application allows it to turn my GPS on, would installing Toggle Settings as a system app enable the same feature? Does anybody know of a way around this or another app that is similar and can toggle GPS settings?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'll start with my history with Android. Got my X on launch day, ran the first leak .zip and reverted back to push the OTA onto my phone without a single problem (when the leak initially came out I saved all the appropriate files needed to revert before they were blacklisted). I have never rooted on any version of Android. Mainly because I just wasn't familiar enough with the know-how and I'm not going to Verizon crying because I bricked my phone claiming insurance replacement. SO - heres the run down, I've been working on PCs since 92, mostly Microsoft based, I'm very familiar with anything up to XP Pro, which I run on most of my machines (until I get a hold of a Windows 7 disc - I don't like Vista at all) I'm also very familiar with DOS commands when OSs used to be DOS based. I want to really get into Android and their operating system and learn a lot more about how it all works, after owning a Storm this really is a large step. I've always been running LP and Fancy Widgets to create the Incredibleist UI (the only thing I liked about the Dinc). I've become pretty familiar with navigating around with Astro, and terminal emulator but as you all know only so much can be achieved when not rooted.
