View 11 RepliesIve upgraded my Droid to FRG22 a couple of weeks ago and it works great in all respects. One issue I have is not been able to find the Verizon apps for the FiOS DVR and Remote Control. Have they not been ported to version 2.2? Should I use the update patch to force the Droid to see 2.1 apps in the market or just wait for verizon to update the market?

and a cool Transparent Settings widget
What do you guys think? I am only using 3 pages, i dont have that much stuff on my phone yet.
For some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
opinions on some of the custom Roms out there.

1. What are your most favorite apps?
2. What do you like the most about your Droid?
3. What is your favorite customization?
4. What do you like the LEAST about your Droid?
Does anyone have the snap on silicone case? If so what do you think of it? I'm thinking about picking one up and just wanted to see how people that actually have one feel about it.

(I typically listen with super high quality in-ear monitors - Shure SE530;s.) I haven't had a chance yet to A/B with my iPhone 3G (which sounded pretty damn good!) but so far, I'm reasonably impressed with the DX audio.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have a verizon fios wireless router, model MI424WR, and i am having trouble maintaining a wireless connection with my eris. i have no problem with the initial connection, but after a few minutes the connection no longer works. my eris still shows that it is connected to my wireless network, but if i attempt to open a webpage, use twitter, etc it says that there is no connection. i changed my eris settings to never let the wireless sleep, but it has not seemed to work. any ideas on how to fix this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like both phones a lot. Each has something that it can do better than the other. Now I'm just kinda picking by the carrier. With Verizon, I will most likely have better coverage everywhere I go, which is important because my dad is a truck driver. I will be paying $180 for for 2 lines with 1500 mins, web on both phones, and unlimited texts I will be stuck on 3G, not 4g. i heard that verizon's 3G is still pretty fast though. With T-mobile I will prob have worse coverage everywhere I go. Paying for 3000 mins, unlimited texts, web on both phones, and will be getting DOUBLE the amount of minutes from Verizon AND 30 BUCKS CHEAPER. I will also have access to t-Mobile's "4g", which isn't too good, but will get better over time. So at first glance, it's obvious I should go with tmobile, but because my dad travels all over the place, I don't think he'll always have coverage compared to Verizon. I am located in North New Jersey and my dad usually goes to PA, NY, VA, ML, and CT. So which carrier is best for coverage in the North East?

View 15 Replies View RelatedMaybe this is a dumb question, but if Android is so cool and open source and whatnot, shouldn't it be possible to break off of one service provider and go to another with the same phone? Ex: From T-Mobile to Verizon? By just modifying the source code a bit?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed Jeffrey Sharkey iTunes Remote Control on my Pulse and it cant find my iTunes library. Has anyone got this to work on the Pulse?I tried disabling my firewall but that didnt help. The phone can access the internet via WiFi so it can connect to the router. It seems as if this app is a couple of years old so Im wondering if it has not been updated or iTunes has changed so it no longer functions! Anybody? Are there any other apps that do something similar? I just want to use the phone as a remote and not to stream.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I first ran across PhoneGap, I was excited because I envisioned simply dropping in the URL of a mobile site and simply updating the mobile site to use the devices capabilities when available.
Alas, it seems it is not that easy.
From what I understand (and I could be incorrect), any HTML/JS access to the device's hardware is limited to local 'pages'. So essentially create a HTML/JS local 'web' app to access the 'real' mobile web app by AJAX like calls. It seems a little redundant (at least to me) when the point is to simply extend the interface an existing mobile site.
Not trying to knock PhoneGap here, just wondering if there's a similar framework that allows a remote site to access the phone's hardware directly. Or if I've missed how that can be done with PhoneGap.
(Sure, I know "allows a remote site to access the phone's hardware directly" sounds scary - but the URL is hard-coded in the app, and HTTPS could provide authenticity. Of course, security is probably why this isn't supported by PhoneGap.)
Anyone know how to stop the motorla phone tools from installing automatically when you connect the phone for the first time? Also how to avoid browser pop up of verizon media manager when you connect?

Can we activate the phone at best buy if we pre order it there or do we have to then go to verizon afterward?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf so, do you think they shake their heads in disgust that we have to change or enhance everything they do? Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. I can think of several helpful members here now that I would not be a bit surprised if I found that they were co-creators and architects of the Droid. Hats off and thanks to you, either way! If you guys are out there reading this thread. you guys rule!

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Droid 1 failed within it's one year warranty. Went through quite a hassle with Verizon trying to get it replaced. They kept telling me a new one would be here by "Tuesday", no phone, call again, should be here by "Friday", no phone...OK, now i'm frustrated. Finally on Monday, a box from Verizon, and surprise, it's a new Droid 2 YAY. Now on Tuesday, another delivery with a box from Verizon, with yes...another Droid 2. That was almost 3 months ago. The second Droid 2 has just sat on my desk, no charges from Verizon, no phone call or anything asking for it back.Today, my son drops the in use Droid 2 phone and it shattered and it's not working. So, I say to myself, no problem I have a brand new one on my desk. My concern is that if I activate it, it will trigger some thing with Verizon and I will then be charged $500 bucks for the phone. What do you all think? Have I actually got a free 2nd phone, or is it just a pretty paper weight.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the Playstation 3 uses bluetooth, the remote that you buy in stores for it is bluetooth, and our Motorola Droids are bluetooth compatible, would it be possible for someone (not me cause I don't know how) to make an app that would enable the Droid to be a bluetooth remote for the Playstation 3?? I know there are apps to turn it into a remote, but I think this requires an separate adapter or receiver. Anyways, if anyone knows if its even possible or not, please let me know. If it is possible, does anyone want to tackle this app?? I know I would be willing to pay for it, as I'm sure others might as well.
