1. What are your most favorite apps?
2. What do you like the most about your Droid?
3. What is your favorite customization?
4. What do you like the LEAST about your Droid?
I admit this is my first phone with a text keyboard. I was stunned to see it still laid out in QWERTY fashion. Why haven't you young people made mfrs switch to a straight alpha keyboard? Why are we still stuck with a keyboard layout designed for proper functioning of the mechanical levers of a typewriter rather than an English-speaking human? Why aren't the ten most commonly used letters put in the easiest spot to use them? Will this remnant of history ever go away? Has anyone under the age of 30 even SEEN a mechanical typewrite (not an electric or selectric, but truly manual)? And will DROID ever have an option for a non-qwerty keyboard?

View 5 Replies View RelatedLiking the music sound quality (out of the 3.5mm) on your Droid X. Since I use my phone as my primary music playing device, SQ is critical. (I typically listen with super high quality in-ear monitors - Shure SE530;s.) I haven't had a chance yet to A/B with my iPhone 3G (which sounded pretty damn good!) but so far, I'm reasonably impressed with the DX audio.

View 11 Replies View RelatedIs there a compact qwerty keyboard app that i can install on my gf droid2? preferably like the compact qwerty layout on my incredible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDont get me wrong, the QWERTY keyboard is sick, and I love it. But after typing on the keyboard for while, I wanted to switch it up, so I tried the on screen key pad. And to my surprise, the on screen keyboard appears to be much quicker than using the QWERTY!
View 15 Replies View Relatedokay my driod is getting harder and harder to slide open. i noticed on the back of the phone when its slid open you can see a plastic film. the clear film began to bubble and i thought thats what was causing the slide to not open smoothly. i took off the plastic and its opening nicer. i think maybe if i clean and lube gentally the tracks it might work great again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAny way to remove the unlock slider, so all I need to do is press the top button to access the phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the Moto Droid yesterday and love it.I was just wondering if there was a way to change the slide to answer a call to where you just have to press. It's not that big of a deal I would just rather press rather than have to slide
View 2 Replies View RelatedI think more people will see this in the Droid forum than in the software forum, plus, it's a major complaint among Droid users that they have to press that unlock button, and THEN still slide to unlock. Here's the app (myLock for Android):myLock for android It's pretty awesome. Uncheck run in foreground mode if you don't want the icon in the notification bar.It also forgoes the slider if you slide open your keyboard. Notice that if your keyboard is a bit loose, this could cause it to unlock in your pocket.
View 39 Replies View RelatedDroid X Android 2.2. Does anyone know how to remove the slide to unlock screen when the phone first wakes up? I use the visible pattern lock and first have to slide to unlock then the phone goes to the visible pattern. The old operating system let you remove this but I can't find that on 2.2.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had the slide lock/accidental touch lock disabled in 2.1 bone stock phone. Got the 2.2 OTA. Installed without issue and has addressed many of my previous complaints (VPN, WiFi, speaker volume). Under settings / location&security, in the security section, I see only two options 'set up screen lock' (pattern/pin/password) and 'security lock timer'. Where is the option to turn on the slide lock? VZW support was completely clueless, as I have (sadly) come to expect. They transferred me to Motorola support, who says there should be a 3rd option there for the screen lock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I activate the slide lock screen coming out of timeout now since the 2.2 froyo update? I don't see it in the setting anymore?
View 10 Replies View RelatedSlight Update: Now using Slide Screen. Love its simplicity, and the ability to have all in one screen. It'd be nice if they allowed you to change wallpapers, and/or the side color rainbow thing. But all in all I love it. And I am not complaining. Go to Slide Screen by Larva Labs. Or search it in the Market.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs it just me, or is the tab you slide to unlock the phone laggy in Froyo? It was really smooth in 2.1, now it is choppy.
View 18 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if there is a way to eliminate the slide unlock after you hit the power button to wake the phone.I think it is a extra pain in the but step.I never hit the power button to wake it on accident.Any root aps or anything? I haven't found any yet myself.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI never use my physical keyboard. I would like a slim case to protect my phone and i don't care if the KB doesn't slide out at all. i would actually prefer it stay closed. Hard plastic or a soft silicone is ok with me. i have the soft rubber case around my work BB and it works perfect. I would love something like that for my droid. And i want one that doesn't raise too much over the screen. a coworker has a hard case for his iphone and it makes it hard to hit the touch screen on the borders. the case sits so high you have to put your finger or thumb almost verticle to touch the on screen keyboard.
View 28 Replies View RelatedIs there a setting that I'm missing or a tweak that would let me unlock my droid when i slide the keyboard open? i see no point in having to "slide to unlock" when i already had to manually slide the keyboard out. Mose sliders will unlock when you do so, was sad that the droid doesn't .
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo in the middle of hooking up a trailer today i received a phone call. answered it quickly then threw it on the toneau cover of my truck and kept hitchin it up. When i leaned over to get my tin out of my back pocket and didnt feel the tight brick in my pants i quickly did a vehicle search and it hit me driving down the road, i look back and see a toneau cover .... with no droid. i flipped around and drove back towards home and sure enough about 4 miles back in the middle of a 4 lane highway was my droid laying faceup, slider open, crying. I jumped out and grabbed it before another car got the priveledge of completely destroying it. found my battery about 50 feet past the phone. never did find the battery cover! But with crossed fingers i popped my battery in and she fired right up. been using it all day without a hitch. It has some serious battle scars, but the screen, camera, and slider all work as if nothing ever happened!
View 20 Replies View RelatedBefore the 2.2 update, I had no unlocks required at all. Now after loading the updating and doing a factory reset, I get the slide to unlock after my phone sleeps. I don't want it. How do I get rid of it? The security lock is set to none.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI maybe 1 day to late to let everyone in on this, completely forgot about this issue.OK, I've been seeing a lot of the same post with slide to unlock problems, or more the entire thing is missing problem. I saw the same issues back when the leaks were being applied. People whom had disabled the lock, updated the leak, didn't have the lock anymore nor did they have the option to add it back if they wanted to. I was (and still am) in the same boat, but the opposite. I had the lock active before the leak and after the update I still had it, the new one, but theres no option to turn it off. Now I have seen a couple threads where Moto has been contacted after a failed attemp with Verizon and they said that yes, an option should be in the settings like the original 2.1 - but its not.I should have remembered this, and at least posted a thread stating - "If you want your screen to lock, have it active before you update, if not, do the oposite" I've only seen one instance that someone had theirs disabled and it was active after the OTA, but again, they can't remove it.
If anyone else has noticed this ( I do understand that a lot of people just go day2day using their lock without thinking twice and never look to disable it ) please post below the results before and after the OTA, also include if you were leaked, reverted, OTA - or rooted. Maybe different variables produce different results.
Hope this helps some with their lock, and maybe if I'm correct some will catch it before they OTA their X.
I would like to change the color or my unlock bar and silent bar on my unlock screen. is there a way to do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I've noticed that I accidentally answer phone calls without realizing it while the phone is in my pocket.Callers then hear the rustling of my phone rubbing the inside of my pocket.I've read that when the Droid X's screen is off, I should have to slide to answer a phone call. However, even when my screen is off and the slide to unlock and pin number lock are active,I am still presented with two buttons when I get an incoming call. This happens regardless of whether people call my regular phone number or my Google Voice number.I have LauncherPro installed.Am I missing something?I'd like to have the slide to answer feature so I don't unknowingly answer phone calls.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor anyone using the Body Glove case, I have a question for you.Has your slider become loose?I know the case fits snug and causes the keyboard to be tighter opening, but when removed, is your slider actually loser?I just bought the Body Glove but I'm thinking about returning it. There is some resistance to opening the slider, which I wouldn't mind, if it wasn't causing the slider to actually separate from the screen. What I mean is, upon looking head on at the side with the headphone jack, I can see the tab where the bottom plate snaps to the phone rubbing with the tab where the front plate snaps to the phone when opening the slider. That's what is causing the resistance, at least on my case. That would be fine except, from that angle and from the angle looking into the micro-usb port, I can see the screen and slider separating a bit when opening the slider. I'm worried about that making the slider loose over time.
