View 5 RepliesIve upgraded my Droid to FRG22 a couple of weeks ago and it works great in all respects. One issue I have is not been able to find the Verizon apps for the FiOS DVR and Remote Control. Have they not been ported to version 2.2? Should I use the update patch to force the Droid to see 2.1 apps in the market or just wait for verizon to update the market?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince the Playstation 3 uses bluetooth, the remote that you buy in stores for it is bluetooth, and our Motorola Droids are bluetooth compatible, would it be possible for someone (not me cause I don't know how) to make an app that would enable the Droid to be a bluetooth remote for the Playstation 3?? I know there are apps to turn it into a remote, but I think this requires an separate adapter or receiver. Anyways, if anyone knows if its even possible or not, please let me know. If it is possible, does anyone want to tackle this app?? I know I would be willing to pay for it, as I'm sure others might as well.

I work for a company and we just bought 4 Galaxy Note smartphones. Now i got the task to set-up a way to remote assist the users, on setting up email accounts etc.
I found RemoteControl by rsupport.com, tested the trial and it works really good, mouse control on non-rooted devices !
My Gmail account works great, and I have my aol and yahoo acounts set up no problem (well the yahoo was a little problem but got it to work so thats all that matters). I have 2 other email accounts that no matter what I do I can not get them to work. One is my works email which is handled by a company called network solutions. I can get the incoming server setup fine but I can not get the outgoing to work. The other is my school email which is some sort of msn email account variation (username@email.itt-tech.edu which i log into through msn.com). I cant get anything to work for this accuont.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Xtralogic Remote Desktop app from the market today for $20, and it's a bit disappointing. It's quite laggy and buggy, and for that price...I'd expect just a teeny bit better. It's a fun app, but it's just not very functional, for me at least. Anywho, my question is: Is there a better remote desktop app out there? A free one for rooted phones? A similarly priced, but better running app? I don't mind the price so long as it is justified.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot to being able to remote control my Linux running computers at home. I have a 60gig music collection and want to be able to play it smoothly on any of the computers or my Android. Of course I want to remote control the computers since most of them are headless (=without monitors) and until now I've remote desktop-ed them from the laptop. Oh and all the computers are Ubuntu installed. It turns out there are many different media players, even allowing DAAP or UDNP setup so that the media library is shared over my LAN, even to the Internet (subsonic). The best application I've found are Spottily and Groove shark, they're a beauty to use since the music is always available - but unfortunately they don't allow for any kind of remote control. So I thought; what if I could use some of the great media players for Android but just change the audio device they're playing on. Since Lucid Lynx actually brought an updated version of Pulse audio (the default audio device) which allows you to play music onto another computer on the network!

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a remote control (not app) for headphones that can control play/pause/volume? I listen to music at night and on long trips and it would be great to have something like this so I don't have to keep pulling out the phone. This would be the final blow to getting rid of my iPod once and for all
Alternatively, I wonder if there is a wireless one via bluetooth but that would kill the battery...
I use a PC at work all day but quite often want to use GTalk to chat to people. Unfortunately my company blocks it so I can't use a browser to chat but obviously I can through my phone.
I used to have an HTC Desire that was rooted so that allowed me to use droidvnc to connect to my phone from my PC via vncviewer using USB(There's no wifi here). It then meant I could type on my keyboard which makes things a whole lot easier when you're in the middle of something.
Basically now I've gone to an HTC One X I'm just wondering whether there's any app or anything that would let me do the same thing but without rooting the device as I don't want to invalidate any warranties just yet.
I'm really after a bit of software to let me remote control my phone via USB for the purpose of using GTalk.
I'd like to use iPhone/iPad as a set of virtual mouse and keyboard for an Android Mini PC. Something similar to apps like Remote Mouse [URL] or Mobile Mouse [URL].

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to remote control my android device (Motorola Xoom & Motorola Droid). I assume this will have to occur via Bluetooth but I am open to any option (wifi?)I'd like the following functionality in the remote:
- Launch Music Player
- Launch Maps / Navigation
- Play / Pause / Next Track / Previous track
- Launch Voice Search
- Launch text search
The official motorola Xoom Bluetooth keyboard has physical buttons for many of these operations (maybe not navigation or voice search) but this device is far too large to use as a 'remote'
My ideal situation would be to find a small Bluetooth remote designed for something like this. I've been looking at getting a Wiimote and the app that allows you to map its keys to keystrokes. Are there keyboard shortcuts for these operations?
I also noticed many of the keyboard shortcuts require the 'Search' key (i.e. Search+'b' launches the browser). What if I got a generic bluetooth keyboard without a 'Search' key - what is the alternative keypress?
I'm lookin for an app to remote controll android devices from each other, like teamviewer for pc!

I have set up a cover page in ssLauncher to be a remote control for xbmc I'm already using xbmc's remote and yatse widgets and would like to find a (preferably vertical slider) widget to control volume, either through the web server or buttons to send ir frequencies.. One for each would be nice lol.
If such a thing exists(?) I haven't been able to find it. All I can find is widgets to control the devices various volume levels. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be possible...
