just got both my dx and macbook pro. So far you all have helped me sync my music (with salling) and my contacts (through google, I also used btooth). Now, I want to know how to sync, if possible, with ical. inb4 sync with google: set up the account in preferences, nothing is happening, no calander events in google or on phone.

Anyone know if you sync your calander events from facebook (ie. birthdays) to the stock android calander? Ive been digging through settings and havent found a way to do it yet. I know you can view them from the contacts menu but would just like them to show up in the calender.

They have reminders in Google Calendar online, and in Outlook (they are sync'd from Outlook to Google Calendar by the "Syncmycal" program.) So somewhere between Google Calendar and my Droid I'm loosing reminder settings. The events are all there in my calendar, but none of them has a reminder set.

The Contacts and Calendar on the phone no longer appear on my laptop. Worked fine yesterday.
Obviously it's some idiotic thing I did or failed to do, but I haven't a clue.
I just picked up my fascinate the day it came out and really like it especially after reading this useful forum and learning new things to do with it.
So here is my question:
I used to have a Blackberry and whenever I received an email from this contracting company I do work for with a scheduled meeting it would automatically sync it with my calendar. It would ask me to accept this meeting I would hit ok then look in my calender and there it was. Is there a way to do the same thing with this phone? I am not very tech savvy so I can use all the help I can get.
I want to create an event on my phone calendar and have that display in my Outlook calendar on my computer. What do I need to do to make that possible? Events created on my phone will not display in my Google calendar or my Outlook.
I have a Droid X2. I downloaded Google Calendar Sync to my computer which synced my Outlook with my Gmail calendar, and that displayed on my phone, but events created on the phone do not display in the Google calendar or Outlook.
I have gone to phone Settings > Accounts > checked Gmail to sync calendar. Google Calendar Sync on my computer is set for 2-way syncing and to do so every 15 minutes. The phone is rooted.
-Phone unplugged from the charger at 9:12 with 100% Battery power (according to battery indicator)
-Access the market once
-wake up the phone at 9:43 and the battery indicator is down to 94%
wtf? Check spare parts partial wake usage since last unplugged and the Calander is up there at the top above the Android system.
Google Phones were handed out to all Google employees. The phone is apparently going to be sold directly by Google and apparently available in January. I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. I'm pretty sure, post Christmas, Droid updates and fixes will become non-existent as Google focuses on their own offering. Google is indeed Microsoft with a crayola logo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I add an event and hit the save button, I see it till I close out of the calendar then try and get back to it. Then it's gone. I've tried to add the event via the stock app, LPP Calendar, and CalWidget...all with the same results, I can add, but try to get back to it or refresh the widget and it's gone. What the heck am I doing wrong? When I add an event from my desktop via gmail, it does save and is viewable on the X...why wont the ones added with phone save to either the phone or gmail?

The synch does not eliminate the past events on the exchange server on on my laptop google calender. My blackberry had a setting for this. I can not find a similar setting which allows me to retain the past events on the Droid.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for a solution to an unusual problem, my work schedule repeats every 35 days.
When I used a windows device with outlook I could program in my rotation and make each day recur every 35 days. I could then look at my calendar and see on any given day of the year if I was off, or working nights, or days. The Google/Android calendar only offers recurring appointments up to 30 days, and won't sync with my version of outlook.
Does anyone know if the 12/11 update will include a sync option for all Outlook? Anyone know of a calendar app that will allow appointments to recur 35 days later? Is it possible to trick the Google calendar (or Yahoo, or Excite) to repeat at 35 days?
On my BlackBerry I used to use ReQall to set calendar events by ReQall's voice recognition.It worked pretty well and understood words and phrases like "tomorrow," "Wednesday," or "next Saturday"; but it could take an hour or more to sync with the Google calendar (and the syncing costs about $30 per year).
Recall for Android is still fairly primitive, so I was looking about for an app that would recognize an event in the form "dinner next Tuesday with Jen at 6 pm." The Market did not have any promising candidates.Then it dawned on me that such functionality is built into Google itself.By sending an SMS to GVENT (set this up on your Google account) you can use SMS together with the phone's voice recognition to add such events by voice. Having set GVENT as a "favorite," it takes only 4 quick taps (and no screen scrolling) to add an event on my calendar, and the synchronization is nearly instantaneous. Much better than ReQall.This is, for me, much easier than manually setting the date and time settings in the phone's calendar app.Hope others might find this useful.
I just got a droid 2 today. I have a Gmail account. E-Mail is working fine, but the calendar is only syncing repeating events. I have tried stopping and restarting the calendar, as well as removing and relinking the account. The problem persists.

Is it possible to intercept key presses of the hands free mic/headset(whatever it is called) of an Android mobile device?
If I am going through my calendar day by day it shows me from about 8am to 5pm. If there's anything before 8am or after 5pm, I don't see it without scrolling. On my old Treo, it would get rid of some of the unallocated hours between 8am to 5pm to ensure other events fit on the screen. Anyway to do this within the Calendar? I'm using Agenda in the meantime but would really like to see just the day's events for whatever day I'm looking at.

Such that if I have a meeting and if I miss the first time that the notification goes off (I'm usually in vibrate only or I use very short very high frequency tones) I'd like the tone to repeat at regular intervals (say every 1 or 2 minutes) until I acknowledge that I'm heading to the meeting. Anyone have an idea for anything like that?
Blackberry didn't do this by default either and there was a WONDERFUL app called BerryBuzz that would allow you to customize notifications to the hilt. In other words different LED colors for each email account or for text messages (or whatever else you could think of) and you could not only have a different sound for them but when the repeating alarm went off you could also individually configure that alarm. Something like this would be really awesome if there was a similar app on Android.
If you make a new event on the Evo, it will not sync to google calendar. I have tried looking for a solution but found nothing. This is very frustrating and disappointing. Can anyone figure out how to sync my Evo calendar events to google calendar?

I noticed this first with reminders (not very useful to have a reminder that doesn't bring itself to your attention!) but then realized that no other notifications are coming up.
IIRC you used to be able to set high/low/off priority to notifications, but that was taken away at some point.

Is there a way to see summary of e-mail and calendar events on the unlock screen? Would be nice to see my next appointment on the screen instead of unlocking and having a look.

I have a user that syncs her corporate email and calendar to her Motorola Droid Razr, Android 4.0.X. The initial entry of an event in her calendar is set for the correct time and time zone. When she edits her event the time zone changes which causes the event to be displayed at a different time.
Another user also has the issue on a Droid Incredible, but is not as concerned about it. I have the HTC EVO LTE and have not been able to replicate the issue.
I read this site and thought it could work. We have reset her account, changed her time zone, resynced.
Ok after a few deals where things seemed a little amiss with stuff happening on their own on my Moto Droid I have found a good example and wonder what other people think about this question.Not to long ago I read somewhere about confirmation that Google can go into your phone and wipe apps and make changes on the fly with push technology and no notice. How true is this and can Devs do the same thing? About a month ago a program that I used regularly after trying to start it I get a msg that the program can not be found.I went to the Market download and it was shown that it was installed but that there was an Update for it. Updated and everything was fine. (Did the Dev's for that app do a push to inactivate the app because the update was critical and had to be installed?)Now just last week I updated the Application Where and after the update when trying to run it from a home screen or from the App menu it would say program not found. I had to actually go to Market--Downloads hit Where and then when the app screen popped up with the Open and Uninstall button at the bottom use the open button to get it to run.I proceeded to uninstall the program and reinstall and still same problem.I wrote Where and told them of my problem on Friday.Yesterday Tuesday I got a response.They changed their name from Where to WHERE and it was causing problems and that I should delete any homepage icons and use the menu Icon.I then went to the menu icon hit it and the program ran. The thing is there was no updates. I did a uninstall/install on the program. tried to run the program from the menu Icon and no success Now after an email from WHERE I go to the icon on the menu screen and it works.

So is there any way to actually make the widget show the current day's events?
I setup sharing between my calendar and my wife's calendar in Google Calendars. When I go on my PC and check my calendar I see all my events and all my wife's events. On my phone it was working perfect to where I saw my events and hers on my calendar, but then all of the sudden last week I can't see her events anymore. I check the permissions and sharing in google cals and they haven't been changed.
On my phone I can add an event to her cal and see it on my phone and on my PC, but if she adds events to her cal I can no longer see them on my phone. More info: when I go int settings and calendars, I see her calendar listed and it's checked, but her events still don't show up. More testing: seems as though if she adds an event on google cal on her laptop I see it on my phone, but all the events she has created on her phone are not showing up with mine even though we are sharing our cals.
Google Calendar on the web shows everything correct BUT, my Droid, even after syncing, shows duplicates of some Events - seems random - and these are not on the web Calendar as duplicates, also shows Events but does not show what they say unless you click on them - no text. What do I do? Do I remove the duplicate in Droid or just let it sync itself correct in time? is there a way to have it better sync?
