Ive had 2.2 installed and running on my x since it was leaked, but all of the sudden the past few days my phone randomly decides to stop reading MP3s and changes all of my ringtones/notifications on me. A restart seems to fix it, but i still have to reset all of m ringtones/notifications after a restart. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

I've had my Droid since November and I guess I went into autopilot since because I never had a problem doing this. But now that I had to replace my phone, I no longer know how to set any 'ole mp3 file as a notification or ringtone in other programs.
For example, I used to be able to go into the messaging or Google Voice app and from there choose the "select ringtone" and then be given a list of apps I had that let me browse through ALL of my mp3 files. Now when I choose "select ringtone," I'm only able to access the system ringtones and notifications.
So what app do I need to download that'll enable me to browse through all audio files for any app's notifications and ringtones?
I was looking for the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack and after a while of looking, I find a site with links to the songs. What's sucks is that after i click the link, my eris starts to stream it (it says 'playing video'). Is there any way to save these songs?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTasker does not seem to function unless I use the motorola control panel and turn on bluetooth, wifi, and gps. If I shut these off via the control panel then tasker does not turn them on at the appointed times and events.Which begs the question, is tasker REALLY turning them off? or are the icons just going away in the notification bar (because they still show as on in the control panel widget)Has anyone else noticed this issue?

They say it doesn't.Can anyone confirm whether or not the GPS (not aGPS, just good old fashioned, slow to download datum and get a fix GPS) works when in airplane mode?I'm traveling overseas to Japan, and only want to use wifi and GPS, so I thought I'd just leave the phone in airplane mode the whole time, but I'm really going to need GPS working (I'm using Maverick Pro for offline maps). View 19 Replies View RelatedThis would be my first post here now. Anyway, here's my situation: I have a NAS where I store my MP3s and I can access it anywhere through its FTP server capability. I have already been able to access the FTP using And FTP and download files from it to play, so I'm good there. But what I would really like to do is be able to open and play the files remotely and basically just stream that song from the NAS/FTP server instead. Anybody know of a way to pull this off? Or am I going to have to bug some dev to program an app for me that does that?

Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
I finally switched to the droid after many years with my Iphone because I couldn't take the dropped calls anymore. I am pretty happy happy with the phone although I think it still needs a few updates. One of my biggest issues is how difficult it is to sync mp3's and photos to the droid. I have done plenty of research and the 2 best solutions for a mac seem to be Salling media and doubletwist. Both of these freeze during syncing and have never completed. I Find it really aggravating that there is no similar app to itunes or any easy way to sync.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOK, so I've scoured this site for any possible answers, but to no avail.When I transfered my mp3s to my Hero, most of the artist's names are listed (and their songs when you tap their name), but there is a good portion that are automatically categorized under the "various" and "unknown" categories. However, 95% of all my mp3s were acquired the same way via Lala.I've taken the sd card out and put it in my reader, and then dragged /dropped onto the card and then put the card back in. I've mounted the phone (that sounds so bad!), opened up the directory, dragged and copied my music folder to the card. Each time I've done this, I deleted all the music to start over. This is trivial I know, but for someone that is OCD like myself, it is driving me crazy having to go to either of these directories to look up a particular artist.Any ideas? Do I need a new MP3 player? Should I do something with the MP3s before I transfer?

I recently downloaded some mp3 ringtones from myxer.com a few of them werent what i thought they were, so i want to delete them but i cant figure out how! i tried using both astro and a player to get into my system and sd folders but i cant find these goddamn files anywhere.
under system/media/ringtones it only shows the ringtones that came with the phone.
I'm guessing theres an aux cable i can buy or an fm transmitter? what has everyone used and can anyone provide a link to these for me as i don't really know what to search for.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI know we cant post links or anything to SBF files or anything like that..thats not what this thread is about..i like many others have gotten a hold of the sbf..i was playing around with my phone almost looking for a way to mess it up so i could use it..i managed that pretty quickly...i am pretty good with doing everything to my phone..rooting..updated to 2.2 and all of that..and i had a pretty good idea what the sbf file actually did but now i have some questions...so hopefully this thread can be a thread for general questions about the sbf not relating to where to get it or how to use it...
I was lead to believe from just about every forum that using rsd and the sbf would totally flash ur phone back to 2.1 stock like the first day you turned it on...before flashing the sbf to my phone i looked at probably every single site and forum out there that had directions..(i like to find out if there are different ways of doing stuff and want to see people experiences)...every site was the same just load rsd and the patch and then flash....well once i flashed my phone it rebooted by its self and when it turned on all i had to do was activate...everything else was still on my phone...apps...settings..wallpaper etc...i know you can go into recovery and do a data wipe and clear cache but it makes me feel like the phone is not back to 100% stock as i thought the sbf did everything..so my question is..
What exactly does the sbf do....
1. Is it supposed to 100% erase everything and put it back to stock 2.1
2. Are you supposed to have to manually wipe date/clear cache and then flash the sbf and if so then what is the sbf doing..
I'm trying to use ADB on my computer for my phone but it just wont recognize the Droid. I have the phone set to Debugging mode and reinstalled the driver more times than I can count. But it wont work, any help?

lot of voice recordings in say "voice recorder folder" and all my music in the "music" folder but all the music players just pull .mp3 from the whole phone because I'll go from ACDC to, "today we will be discussing in today's meeting."
Making one big playlist of music.mp3 seems like a lousy work around which is all I can think of.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI've seen that others have SNESoid on their DX's but when I installed SNESoid light on my DX and went to freeroms.com I get a black screen.Here's is what I did.
1.Installed SNESoid lite and ASTRO
2. Went to freeroms.com
3. Direct DLed ROM .zips of FF3, Super mario bros. to my phones SD.
4. Opened with ASTRO went to download folder and extracted in same folder.
5. Opened SNESoid lite and it went to download folder. It only showed the zip folders and not the actual roms.
6. so I clicked on the .zip folder but I either get a black screen or really screwy lines.
Is there a theme that would work for UD 8 that would give me the sliding application drawer that 2.1 had?
