I pushed the dial button on my Motorola T505 bluetooth that is paired with my X and low and behold it launched voice dialing on the phone ash asked "say a command". I about fell over. It works well and now is hands free.

Phones from 6 years ago and every one since function better than the Motorola Droid does in this aspect.With over 800,000 units said to be sold(Moto Droid)... the number of stars for this issue are very low.... In fact the overall participation on google code is low i think.I'm asking everyone to go on Google Code, log in with your gmail account, or do whatever you have to do to be able to 'Star' the issue. Posting replies on their site is not necessary without relevant new info to the issue, and only dilutes the issue. Staring alone is enough and very helpfull

As I use the unlock pattern, it seems the emergency dial function is too prominent on the screen and almost every time I'll hear my phone using the emergency dialer when the phone presses against my leg while walking.Does anyone know if there's a planned fix or already released fix that can make the emergency dialer also a 'slide to activate' like answering a phone call or possibly reduce the emergency dial button in size considerably? As I've pretty much given up on Motorola providing much in the way of Droid updates at this point, esp since they appear to be ditching android slowly I'd be willing to root for this functionality.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was using the quick the "contact quick task" widgets for one-touch dialing of key contacts prior to installing Launcher Pro. But now in LPP, they don't work. I've tried recreating them but they just seem to be broken in LPP.
Any fixes or ideas on other ways to do one-touch dialing with LPP? Also, is it just me or does "speed dial" (on the favorites page in dialer) not work at all. I can get to the speed dial page but cannot successfully add contacts.
Quick rundown on what I've done to my DX: First got it, OTA 2.2 update, rooted, then deodexed with 928droid's black glass deodexerrr, then installed incognito theme. Alright, after I installed the Icognito theme yesterday, a few hours later, a few strange things started happening. My 3g cut out, googled around, and tried dialing *228 then option 1. A few minutes later the 3g came back on but eventually quit working again. I tried a battery pull a few times, nothing. Then I tried the *228 again, nothing. Second, I have this damn "Memory usage" thing on my homescreen that I have no idea where it came from. Lastly, now whenever I reboot my phone, it boots automatically into clockwork recovery. When I'm in clockwork and hit "reboot now", it boots up fine. Here's a screenshot for more info on what I'm talking about:
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis may be just me or my combo of applications but, When I enter a number on the touchpad and press dial the screen goes dark and will not come back or accept input unless I put the phone to my face or otherwise cover the the light sensor. Even pressing the power button does not bring the screen back . I have forced the 2.1 update and have not noticed this behavior before. Not a big deal but is annoying if you dial a wrong number.

View 7 Replies View RelatedCan one of you Milestone owners please tell me if you are able to use Bluetooth Voice Dialing since updating to 2.1? In other words, can you pair a BT headset, then hold or double-tap your headset button to initiate a voice call on the Milestone?
If so, how is it working? Is there software anywhere in your phone labeled 'Nuance'? Please let me know. If you could post a pic or vid of how this is working on the Milestone, that would be much appreciated.

I changed the voice mail number from *86 (version default) to my Google voice number. This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Blueant S4 bluetooth speakerphone, Im trying to use the voice dailing feature with the new 2.2 froyo release and it sucks.....really. Even not using the blueant speakerphone and just using the phone trying to speak commands directly at it in a quiet room, it dosent even work. Example I tried to call my mother today when prompted I said "Call Mom" the phone decoded that as "Call Aubrey" lol which is a imporvement from the "nothing found" errors ive been getting....is there another app to replace the stock voice dialing application that works better?

You have to have the phone in your hand, activate the voice dialing, speak your request, then manually confirm your request on the phone its self.. I thought the whole purpose of the voice dialing feature was for hands free capabilities.. The way this program currently works renders it utterly useless. I have a Cardo Q2 setup for my motorcycle helmet.. which has a bluetooth phone link setup in it.. Its basically a bluetooth headset thats integrated into the helmet. Everything works fine with the G1 phone except the voice dialing. Does anyone know of a Voice Dialing app that basically revamps the factory program so that you can use voice dialing w/ your headset? I searched and searched but couldn't find any real answer to this question.

Rather poed that neither Verizon or Motorola knew what I was talking about. According to TV News this is a problem with almost every new smart phone. I now have an interconnected problem. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm Rubenn from London UK and recently upgraded to a Hero HTC after having used a Touch Duo HTC for around two years. I, like may others contributing to your forum, am very sad that there is no way I can use my head set and voice dial out with this phone. What a step backwards as in many other respects, this is a wonderful phone although it will take me ages to get my head around all the other possibilities it offers. Is it possible that HTC will get out a patch that can be installed at some point in the near future.
