Yahoo Connection Error, Facebook connection error, gmail connection error. All of a sudden I am not getting any data to my phone. Only over WiFi is it working. What is going on?

I rooted and flashed the latest Fresh ROM last night. Everything worked fantastic until about an hour ago I started getting this error: Data Call Failure Error Code 67 .Registration failure. Your PCS Vision username and/or password may be incorrect. Please try again.
I saw some other threads upon googling but they were for other devices and I'm a bit nervous that I'll screw things up.
I successfully set up a work email account as my default email address but have not been able to send/receive email. I keep receiving a "connection error". I'm sure my settings are correct (POP3, port 110; outgoing port 25) and I have the "secure connection" box unchecked. I do have mail.domain name for the SMTP address.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically I am having issues with my schools email account. I have it setup via an imap account. Everything works great over wifi. The problem however is once I switch over to 3g.
Once I switch to 3g I am still able to receive emails just fine the problem occurs when I try to send an email. Basically it just sits in the outbox and says connection error. I tried using K-9 to see if that would help but it's still a no go k-9 gives me an error message every time I try resend the email.
So is there some setting or something I am missing that could be causing this problem? Currently I just have my schools email forwarding to my gmail account which is ok but sucks when I go back to my desktop and emails I deleted are still there and unread.
So I rooted my Moto Droid a few months back. Running 2.1 and all seemed well. I decided to trade it on Craigs List a couple of weeks ago. Before the exchange I did a factory reset. The guy I traded it to seemed honest and certainly didn't know much about hacking on the phone. Anyhow he told me he couldn't get a data connection (wifi did work though). He took it to a Verizon store and naturally they said it had been hacked and that was the problem.I traded him back (Palm Pre sucked anyway). I figured I could just get it back up and running. But I'm definitely only getting wifi connection. Market will NOT log me in no matter what.Any suggestions? Is the phone now dead?
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I notice that there is no indication for 3G or 1x, not that I don't have reception, it just isn't turned on for some reason. It will fix itself if I reboot my phone, or turn it to airplane mode and then back to normal. Does anyone else experience this? Honestly it isn't annoying enough to replace my phone, just weird.

View 21 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted a week or so ago. Didn't flash any new ROMs or anything, just deleted some bloatware and set up wireless tethering. Right away I noticed the data connection going up and down a lot. Then a few days ago I started periodically getting a black popup with this: When I get it, I just hit "dismiss" and so far, everything goes back to working normally at that point. Still, it's a little disconcerting. Anyone else gotten this popup or had their data connection messed with by rooting?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have juicedefender and I enable that at work to shut off my data for 50 minutes out of every hour. I disable the app when I return home so I can always be receiving data.
With that said, I will be texting my girlfriend, shut my screen off and the notification sound does not ring when she sends me a text. The only reason I know she sends me a text is because I will go to Gv on my laptop and see she sent me a msg.
I looked into my battery mode settings and it is setup to shut off data after 15 minutes of inactivity during non peak hours (midnight to 8am) and set to 60 mins or never for peak hours, however my phone was never inactive for that time period.
My question is, what else could be shutting my data on/off if juicedefender is disabled and my battery profile is set up correctly ( i even changed it to performance and i didnt hear the notification, yes the notification vol. is up)
i noticed that on my inc,droid 1,and now the x,doesnt happened all the time but when it does i have to reboot or just let it sit for a while. ive tried task killer, no task killer
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I recently rooted my phone and switched to the Kangerade 1.1 rom running a chevy kernel. I pretty much have no issues EXCEPT for the fact that maps wont function unless I am on wifi. Once I am using 3g I just get data connection lost, and then it loops....I am using version 4.3 of maps, my wife's phone is also rooted with kangerade using a p3 kernel but with maps 4.2 and she gets the same results.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a new Droid (new verizon customer) last Friday. Twice now I have lost 3G downsignal only (which effectively means no data connection). To be clear, I still have the 3G signal icon on my phone, and all my apps are uploading data (according to the icon) however no data is being sent back down. I've tried waiting 10 minutes and tried going in and out of airplane mode (3G icon does come back after leaving airplane mode) however I still don't have downstream connection, only upstream.
The only way I have fixed this is to reboot the phone, which sucks. Has anyone had this issue? I'm not sure i'll be able to get a replacement (even with insurance) unless I can reproduce it in front of Verizon reps, so I'm not sure what I should do about it.
So, first, here's what happened. Did a factory reset of my phone. When it came back up and I went to activate it, no data connection, unable to make phone calls. After 2 hours on the phone with VZW tech support, I can make calls, but have no data connection. They are sending me a "new" one. The concensus of the VZW tech and myself, problem with my phone. 2 days later, my wife resets her phone because of memory usage issues (she had to much on it). Same exact thing happened to her. Being the fiesty woman that she is she is going to a VZW store today to raise holy hell and throughorly degrade the poor rep that she is going to talk to, to get some answers. My question to all my fine fellow Eris users, have you seen this before? If in our position, do we deserve a new phone, and not an eris? Will this happen with a replacement eris due to a fault in the 2.1 update?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen trying for a month to get my business POP3 email to pull down on the Droid. Have tried both the default email app and K9. I am able to send email from the default app, but it will not receive. Just says 'Connection error'. Have checked the settings a dozen times. They are correct. 1st time I tried K9 3 weeks ago, I got no where. C"connection errors". Today I reinstalled it, and all of the sudden it starts pulling down headers. But - about half the emails I click on won't pull down the rest of the message. Just sits there and says 'Downloading...', then after several seconds says 'Connection error'. This is when I start cussing profusely. Sending email from K9 seems to work ok.Anybody else having this same issue? Suggestions? Is there another email app to try?

I tried restarting the phone and it still is doing it. I also looked on my brother's Evo and his has connection when mine does not so I know it is not a problem with our tower, any suggestions on what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw this commercial the other day for the iPhone where they were saying how the iPhone can look up stuff on a map and lookup restuarant info on the web all while on a phone call. I thought, that's silly, can't every smart phone do that? I had never tried it before on my Hero, so tonight I just did a simple test, where I was on the phone and tried to look up some info on the web. No go. There was no data connection. Boy was I not happy about that. Is that a function of the OS (v1.5), or the network I'm on (Sprint)? It seems like its pretty basic that I should be able to be on a phone call AND look something up at the same time, just like the iPhone commercial. Or am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting somewhere?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a server application listening on port 5001 on an anroid dev phone. The client application running on my laptop tries to send data to the server application.
The client can successfully connect and send data to the server machine when the phone has wifi enabled. The command to do this is - iperf -c <ip address of wifi interface>
But when I enable the 3G connection and try to send data then it fails. iperf -c <ip address of the 3G interface>
I cannot even ping the <ip address of the 3G interface>. Is there any port blocking enforced in case of external 3G network connection. Can anyone please tell me how can I send data to the server application on 3G network. Is there any specific port on which the server application should be listening??
Im leaving for costa rica tomorrow and would like to turn off ALL data AND telephone. i dont want any connection at all, but i would still like to use my camera, calendar, notepad, etc. how do i turn off EVERYTHING? But I would still use wifi to browse internet(not data)...is that possible? i know airplane mode will turn everything off; even wifi. so my question is, how do i turn off all data/phone and still use wifi to browse internet?

Your phone needs to support Wireless Data Connection (Dun) Capabilities to use TomTom Plus Services. Can this be done soon? I also do not get email notifications when the screen is off. I have to unlock the screen to get my updates now. Any idea how to change this back?I was also wondering about how to change the frequency of checking email and other updates, etc. to save some battery life
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis usually happens after some wifi activities, but i've noticed that whenever my wifi fails to connect or sometimes even when i disconnect from a wifi server, i lose my data connection (im operating on edge with rogers).
This can usually be solved if i restart my phone but obviously thats not ideal. anyone else have this problem? is it a known issue?
My wi fi isn't working it has found our connection ever since I turned it on now it doesn't. I am sitting right next to the computer but it cannot find it. I uninstalled 360 camera because that is the last app I installed. It was working fine untill I did the update. Than it did a force close a couple of times. That was yesterday than when I turned my phone on this morning it can not find the connection and the letter icon that shows you have mail is not up in the left hand corner of the phone. I really don't want to do a factory reset if I can help it.

I've managed to fix it i think. It would seem something I installed (im thinking SwitchPro Widget) changed the APN name in the settings to orangeinternet_off.
Principally to save battery charge, i need to find an application or a method that automatically shut down data connection when i lock the screen and resume it when i unlock the screen.
I've tried many of the most popular software that do this, but, with dual sim phone, they are able to shut down data connection but not to startup.
