Samsung Galaxy S :: No Connection Via USB In Debugging Mode

Oct 18, 2010

I've got a Galaxy S Vibrant. I've got the USB in debugging mode, I've got super-user rights. When I mount the Vibrant to my Desktop while it's booted in Ubuntu, it detects it off the bat and works fine. When I mount the Vibrant to my Dekstop while it's booted in Windows, it doesn't detect it.

Vibrant won't connect to a windows 7 x32 desktop via usb, but connects to Ubuntu just fine. The desktop has no network connection. I need to move some files, but I don't have a USB drive and it doesn't have a CD drive. It's rather barebones. So, I was hoping to use my phone.

HTC Eris :: No Exclamation Point In Debugging Mode

Apr 6, 2010

I've been attempting to root my Eris, following the sticky at the top of the forum. It has proven to be impossible. I can not get by the USB driver portion of the tutorial. My phone is in debugging mode, but will not show up with an exclamation point no matter what I do, and Windows will not allow me to use the USB driver. I don't know if the tutorial is poorly explained or my phone is broken or corrupted but I've been having problems with it and was hoping the upgrade would fix said problems.

General :: Samsung SGH-i727 (Skyrocket) Won't Enter Debugging Mode

Jun 12, 2012

I just got a brand new Samsung SGH-i727 that I cannot get into Debug mode, which means that I'm bored with it already! I want to ROOT!! I can navigate to the setting, select the check box, and it remains checked, however, it won't indicate Debugging mode ( in the status bar, with the pop-up or otherwise when connected to the PC), and I cannot access ADB to root it! I am at a loss. I have scoured the forums, deleted and re-installed the drivers, deleted and allowed the device to re-install the drivers, used different USB cables, including the original, and a decent aftermarket, used different USB ports, used different PCs, (Two Win 7's, and one WinXP, all to no avail. I am upgrading from a Cappy, that was rooted on this machine, but for some reason, the 727 just doesn't want to work!

Motorola Droid :: Not Connecting To PC When Debugging Active

May 28, 2010

I have been rooted since February and up until i bought a new laptop everything has worked great when running adb commands. But one day, after I bought a new laptop, it would not recognize that my droid was connected. So I did some research and one solution I saw was to disable debugging, I did and that and it worked. But now I cannot run any adb commands(error: device not found). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the usb drivers but still that didn't fix the problem.

Motorola Droid :: Motorola Support Says GPS Won't Work In Airplane Mode?

Mar 3, 2010

I swear I tried this at some point and it worked, but I checked with Motorola about whether or not the GPS receiver will work when the phone is in airplane mode. They say it doesn't.Can anyone confirm whether or not the GPS (not aGPS, just good old fashioned, slow to download datum and get a fix GPS) works when in airplane mode?I'm traveling overseas to Japan, and only want to use wifi and GPS, so I thought I'd just leave the phone in airplane mode the whole time, but I'm really going to need GPS working (I'm using Maverick Pro for offline maps). I'd go out and try it, but it's snowing and crappy, and I don't want to sit outside that long

Motorola Droid :: Car Home Mode?

Nov 19, 2009

I think there could be some improvement done here. (If some of this can be achieved via settings updates, please advise. Or if there is way to suggest features to Verizon/motorola, please let me know where to so.)

When I am docked/car home mode and answer a call, shouldn't the call automatically use speaker phone (unless bluetooth connected)? Also, in car home, why not be able to answer a call with a button press instead of a slide? Finally, why isn't the phone screen rotated?

It seems to me, if I am car docked and I need to swipe and switch on speaker phone, the purpose of having a car home is defeated.

Motorola Droid 2 : Cant Get Rid Of Old Playlists - USB Mode

Sep 12, 2010

In USB mode, I copied several music specific folders, like "John Mayer" for instance, from my PC to my Droid 2 music folder. They show up fine under Artists, Albums, Songs and Playlists. However, there are a bunch of other entries in my playlist menu, some of them 2 or 3 times. They are probably from past attempts. How do I get rid of them ?

Using the 'Files' utility > phone files > music folder just the ones I want are there. Where the heck are the others, and how to delete them? Thanks for the help, I need it, I'm old :-) LOVE MY DROID 2

Android :: Debugging Droid With Eclipse

Dec 15, 2009

I've many times debugged my Java EE code running on Tomcat and JBoss quite effectivley with Eclipse, but I'm running into a brick wall debugging an Android app on the Droid. I think I have to debug on the device and not the AVM because the app interacts with MapView, GPS, etc. Maybe I need to use the AVM to effectively debug? What happens is I get NullPointerException or ArrayOutOfBoundsException in the main thread at something like ViewRoot.draw(boolean) line: 1373. Of course, by default, the source won't be found. So I downloaded the source with Git and pointed Eclipse at it. However, I think I don't have the right source, because the line is that the exception appears to have been thrown from is not completely relevant. How can I be sure I'm using the correct source code for debugging the Droid? After writing this, I've found that although Eclipse is not displaying the little green dot when I set a breakpoint in the Andorid code, it does show up in the breakpoint view and I can step through the code. Not sure if this helps me. Is it perhaps my ignorance of Dalvik and/or debugging threaded code?

Otherwise I'm loving my new phone. I got the auto-adjust option for the Display turned on but for some reason the screen won't switch to the landscape mode as long as I don't pull out the physical keyboard. That is only the case for the homescreens and the main app menu. Otherwise it works fine. For example, if I open the settings I get to look at them in landscape mode with the keyboard in our out.
