I upgraded to the new 2.1 leak. Noticed the stock camera app doesn't auto rotate. It stays static in landscape mode. Is this the way it supposed to be or can it auto rotate just like it did in 1.5?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to android development - I'm having trouble finding documentation on how to disable the accelerometer/auto-rotate feature for an app (i.e. when you turn the phone, everything 'corrects' changing the layout). Is it possible to disable in the emulator?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been playing around with Timeriffic (great app!) and wondered if anyone knows if there is a way to have Auto Rotate of screen to not be enabled say, from 23:00 until 7:00?Even a separate (freeware) app would be okay as I don't see Timeriffic doing this? PS - Is there a way to save/export timeriffic settings/personal saved options?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have purchased Karbonn A18, which is Android 4.0.3, 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB Ram. Initially the auto rotate option worked fine after 4 days, its stopped working and I tried
1. Switch off and on
2. Switch off and removed battery, SIM, memory card (8GB)
3. Two time complete reset including memory card.
Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with my auto rotate. I use launcher pro, and have the homescreens set to not rotate. This always left my apps (handcent, gmail, etc) free to rotate within the app or popup now I only get one or the other if auto rotate is on, apps are stuck in landscape, and vice versa Ive deleted LP and started over, gone into recovery and wiped cache, battery pull running out of ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is the right section to ask but,is there a way to turn on auto rotate in google maps? As an example, if i lay down the phone and point it north, the map should point nort. But if i would to rotate the phone, the map should be facing the same direction.
View 2 Replies View Relatedauto-rotate seems to have changed, it now defaults to the last orientation an application had since last used. so opening it again would disregard the current orientation. for example, if an app was last used on landscape and you hold the phone the normal way (not landscape), when I open the app, it would be on landscape orientation and I would need to shake it just to have it corrected. this is not good specially on browsing the internet, or the facebook app, or the gallery. not sure what other apps are affected. any way to turn this back the way 2.1 auto-rotate works?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI kinda liked the fact that the old system only rotated when put on one side. I didn't realize that I counted on the screen orientation to stay the way when it was leaned the other direction. But I do like to type with the unit on its side from time to time.Is it possible to switch it back to the way it used to be (pre 2.2)? I saw an on/off for the entire rotation, so I doubt it but felt it worth asking.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Go Launcher on Galaxy Note and it appears to redraw/reload all widgets and icons on the home screen if I rotate the screen i.e while going from Landscape to Potrait Mode and vice versa , all widgets/icons reload.
While rotating applications , this does not happen.
I've checked the "orientation" box in the "sound and display" settings menu, but the Home and Menu screens will not auto-orient when my X10 mini pro is rotated. It only works when the keyboard is slid open - applications don't seem to have this problem. This is a recent issue, probably in the last couple of days. i've tried reinstalling the software via PC Companion and SEUS, in addition to a "factory reset," but they haven't solved anything. Is there something wrong with the accelerometer or is it a software issue that can be resolved with the next software update (2.1)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using this camera code to ask the camera to rotate the captured image data... this seems to work on all phones, except the Droid. Has anyone else seen this? The image data is always landscape, however, the native camera app produces portrait images OK. I wonder if the Droid will only respect the new Camera.Parameters.set Rotation() method, but this seems to only be available in sdk level 5?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMotoDroid 2.2. Since 2.2, the auto-rotate screen goes haywire from time to time. I normally use the vertical format, easier to type, but when it switches, not much screen left, and I have to go back and back to start over again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and really like it. 1 wierd thing is that when I rotate the phone counter clockwise, the screen goes to landscape just fine; but when I rotate it clockwise it does not go to landscape "the other way". And, if I'm holding the phone 'normally' and rotate it 180 degrees ('upside down') it doesn't follow. My youngest daughter delights in telling me that her iPhone does this with no problem. What's up with that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Magic (Rogers Canada). And, I see how the Dream (G1) rotates the home screen. can the Magic do that as well? Also, anybody know if it's possible to rotate the screen to the right and not just to the left? Shouldn't the acceleromater detect all the different rotated modes (even upside down?). that'd be cool
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs we know, we can rotate a bitmap through 2 ways. The 1st way is: Matrix mt = new Matrix(); mt. postRotate (degree);Bitmap bitmap = CreateBitmap(src, 0, 0, w, h, mt, true); canvs.drawBitmap(bitmap, 0, 0, paint); In this way, we always need create new bitmap for every rotation, it is not good way for high performance game or app.The 2nd way is: canvas.save(); canvas.rotate(degree); canvas.drawBitmap(bitmap, 0, 0, paint); canvas.restore();In this way, we avoid creating new bitmap frequently, but the rotation bitmap is distortion, the bitmap quality is worse than first way.So, Is there 3rd way to rotate bitmap with high performance and good quality? Your any comments are really appreciated!
View 3 Replies View RelatedGot mine on Tuesday and chuffed to bits with it Have been fiddling away and even reasonably satisfied with battery life now. Lots of top tips on, have read and learnt a lot so thank you all.
On to business: This morning I wanted to take a daft self-portrait of myself (a doddle on the ol' sony erisscon). It's really tricky and I tried self timer etc... So I looked in the big manual. Page 143 and 146 describe an auto capture function - for just such an event as a daft self portrait. Only problem is I can't find it!
I'm in camera - definitely photo not video - and then menu which brings up settings. All the settings are there except that one.
Any ideas? Would be handy to know where my "auto capture" option has gone!
I have a Sprint HTC Hero and just loaded CZ FX. Can someone tell me how the manual focus and auto works? I know how to turn it on and off just don't know what its doing. With the stock camera when you touch the screen it focuses on that spot, with FX I can't figure it out. Also with FX when I touch the screen it takes a photo even when that option is turned off?
