Can you take a clip from a MP3 and use it as a ringtone and can this be done on the Droid? I know you can use songs as ringtones but it uses the whole song and I just want the chorus. I think you can trim songs on the HTC to use as a ringtone but I don't see a way of doing that on the Droid. I'm sure there's an app for it.

How can I set a custom file I downloaded as my default ringtone? I got it off babilo.com and I want to make it my default... But I cant seem to find the song anywhere on my phone to make it my ringer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if there is anyway to set my phone in such a way that my ring tone will turn off when I open the phone (either unlock/ do anything to the phone). As it is right now my ring tone (a full mp3 song imported from my pc) will play until I drag down my notification bar. I'm using tone picker and handcent sms if it makes any difference.
Also, is there a way to edit the the keyboard input sound when typing with the stock keyboard?
Trying to help a friend with his Droid. He downloaded a ringtone from the Verizon site and he is trying to set it up as his "RINGTONE". Can someone please walk me through this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.
2. How do I change the name of a ringtone file?
I want to use the ringtone that comes stock on the phone called "New Player" as a notification tone for text messages. Any way that I can do so?

So I have just started nodding apk's . I modded the unicornporn one to get rid of the stuff I didn't like and added in what I wanted. Problem is they'll only install if I paste to system/app and reboot. How can I edit the apk files to make it install as a regular app?

I want to use the newest Bugles beast Rom update.zip but i want to insert the Adamz kernal, wifi driver, and a framework-res file so it can all be installed in 1 update. reason for this is i have 3 friends that i have rooted phones for and would like to keep them updated with the most current rom but i want them to only have to install 1 file (they are not very tech savy). so anyways i tried simply dropping those files in there appropriate place and installing it but i get an error "(bad) installation aborted" so what do i need to create/edit an update.zip file. i read maybe i need to sign the update but i have no idea how to do that.

Maybe 1 random reboot per day (or it will freeze playing angry birds) How do I modify to OC 1.2 Is there a preferred method to accomplish this? I've tried searching and I only got more confused. I've seen manual methods and I've seen apps free and paid... I know I'll need to edit the set scaling.sh. I haven't done that but I'm willing to try? Which method should I use? Do you have setting that are stable at 1.2? If so please share. I really think the 1.2OC will be the sweet spot for my DX.

One thing I've found is that when I try to add a new contact it does so as a google contact where as my existing contacts that were synced over show up as Phone-only contact. There obviously is a difference when adding/editing contacts but I can't figure out how to choose between the two types.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use different ringtones for as many as 12 contacts so that I know who's calling me! Once in a while when the last person that has a dedicated ringtone calls me the default phone ringer set itself to that person's ringtone. I turned off my phone took the battery off and the rebooted, the problem goes away for a awhile and before you know it happens again! It's really bothersome when you think a particular person is calling you, (because of a ringtone) you answer and it someone else.

But when I get a text, it is still active! I even deleted the soundboard. In my settings it now shows my old tone but dosent use itt for some reason.
